Greece 400BC mod available as beta on the Workshop yet?
attiladafun 10 Nov, 2022 @ 12:48am
Any update on your new mod?
Mrtobiasko  [author] 6 Apr, 2022 @ 6:36am
Update:
-- This mod is abandoned and won't be updated anymore ! --

I'm working on a new version of this mod with more factions and using the new options made available. Also working on a second mod with the setting of Greece 400BC.
I am very sorry to all the people who love the mod, but I promise there will be new stuff coming, and it will be far more polished and fun to play!
Nderimi 5 Apr, 2022 @ 7:32pm
mine too
ANTI-WOKE 1 Apr, 2022 @ 10:37am
This is my favorite mod but unfortunately it's not working anymore.
It would be great if you may fix/update the mod.
Riekopo 4 Nov, 2021 @ 4:55pm
ETA for next update?
jack.km 23 Aug, 2021 @ 1:32am
does this work with beta update?
Mark_von_Hoffman 1 Aug, 2021 @ 4:18am
Does the mod still work?
Mrtobiasko  [author] 26 Jul, 2021 @ 12:23am
@Pablo Escobar, and all the others, yes I noticed this also, for now I can't do anything about it. If you want to keep playing this mod you have to dit without the beta. I'm going to work asap on it!
Pablo Escobar 25 Jul, 2021 @ 12:20pm
i cant start a new campaign
Majpalmer 25 Jul, 2021 @ 7:17am
When the last update posted, I could not start a new RIS campaign, but I could continue existing campaigns. You'll have to uninstall the beta mod or wait for this mod to be updated.
Marek Vulen 25 Jul, 2021 @ 4:40am
I am having the same issue of not being able to start a new campaign.
tobicb1990 25 Jul, 2021 @ 4:07am
I love the mod, thanks a lot for making it. Since the update i can not start a new campaign. Does anybody have the same problem?
Kitiguya 15 Jul, 2021 @ 11:19am
@Mrtobiasko Thank you! Feral has failed to really make the other nations territories and resource outputs feel as if they could actually compete with any of the major factions, but i have no doubt that you'll fix their mistakes and make those areas even better
Mrtobiasko  [author] 15 Jul, 2021 @ 11:09am
@For The Emporer We Crusade, thx for the feedback! I'll see if I can make those regions a little more interesting while also keeping the historical balance
Kitiguya 15 Jul, 2021 @ 10:21am
i love this mod, been playing the seleucids for about 136 turns, currently in a two sided world war with all 3 roman factions trying to maintain control of the west side of the map, while my faction controls 6 world wonders on the right side. only complaint ive found so far is that once you get past turn 100-ish, resource tiles for your merchants become very few and far in-between in any area thats not greece, macedon, rome, or africa. Egypt has only a few sparse resources, and not many cities either, making them feel more like a minor threat, rather than a competing empire. A few other empires feel the same, mainly the persians, armenians, and scythians.
so if its possible for any work to be done for those lesser factions, thatd be awesome. this mod makes the game a hell of a lot better to play, and looking forward to more updates in the future :)
Comandante Uldo 12 Jul, 2021 @ 8:15pm
Great mod, but i have a problem macedonian Phalanx units are pink for some weird reason.
Majpalmer 12 Jul, 2021 @ 10:50am
Civil war had begun. Had to take 56 provinces. Playing the Mod over Magnus Mundus.
Holy Mountain 11 Jul, 2021 @ 12:14pm
Just finished the campaign. In the end, I had to kill Egypt with consoles to continue the campaign. I didn't have a crash since. I believe Egypt is the buggy one since it is heavily modded.
Majpalmer 10 Jul, 2021 @ 7:56pm
I'm 70 turns in. Had 3 crashes during the AI turn. Always quick save before I end my turn. Was able to reload all 3 and continue. Were your's terminal?
Holy Mountain 9 Jul, 2021 @ 6:17am
My crashes always seems to happen on Egypt's turn (I'm playing Armenia).
Holy Mountain 9 Jul, 2021 @ 5:46am
I get crashes during the AI's turn. It happens when they are using agents to enter my cities.
Majpalmer 3 Jul, 2021 @ 10:33am
Has anyone gotten far enough into this mod as a Roman factions to trigger civil war? If so, how many provinces did you hold? Thanks.
Majpalmer 2 Jul, 2021 @ 9:05am
Apparently, you can play this Mod with the Mundus Magnus map. Place MM before the Accuracy Mod. You do have to Mod the Victory conditions and the movement allowance to adjust for the much larger map. Two files; small changes. By AD 14, the Romans held about 170 Mundus Magnus provinces. Movement should be increased to 200. So far, so good. If I get problems I'll post.
general_maximus88 2 Jul, 2021 @ 9:03am
@Mrtobiasko no problem my friend and thank you again for actually taking the time to create, curate and maintain this mod for the benefit of the community. I probably won't actually upload anything since there seems to be a rather ambivalent response to what I said below and I can always use Google drive if someone wants me to just email the relevant files to them.
Mrtobiasko  [author] 1 Jul, 2021 @ 11:40am
@Andrew583, mid july it will come, right now i'm on holiday
Mrtobiasko  [author] 1 Jul, 2021 @ 11:40am
@general_maximus88 thx for helping the other out! yes you can of course use anything I made, if you credit me ;)
Hampuzio 30 Jun, 2021 @ 3:41pm
crashes over and over
Sir Andrew 30 Jun, 2021 @ 9:18am
when will united rome come?
general_maximus88 29 Jun, 2021 @ 6:31pm
I suppose I could either upload the original files associated with this mod, pending permission of its esteemed creator or just email anyone who is that motivated to return to the nostalgia of your original saved game. Anyways, that is the only conceivable work around that I can think of for this otherwise inexorable and most vexatious dilemma.
general_maximus88 29 Jun, 2021 @ 6:30pm
For those of you who are correctly observing that the mod is no longer compatible with prior campaign games after the most recent update by its creator, you will need to revert back to the same original files that your saved game was utilizing from the mod before it had been updated. If this sounds tedious and confusing; it is, because the designers of the Steam platform gave little consideration to the interests of the end user in maintaining the integrity of the file structures on their PC. Through cruel experience, I anticipated this overwrite of the original mod files and therefore backed them up in a separate location on my hard drive and well away from the Steam Workshop folder where all mod files are contained. I know this information doesn't help you now but it should spare you future consternation. See my following post for my own proposed solutions.

error units after update

I can no longer load my old game save as the Julii. I originally thought it was ust the patch at the start of the month, but even with the latest update for this mod (24th of June) I still can't load it! :-(
PatehaGaming 26 Jun, 2021 @ 11:27pm
how to use this mod?
ELSEY 24 Jun, 2021 @ 5:49am
With the latest update (24th June) I can no longer load into my previous save game. Is there a way I can revert back to the previous version of the mod or run it locally so I can continue with that save game?
Turin 15 Jun, 2021 @ 3:03pm
Thank you for keeping Rome as different Factions especially since every other overhaul wants to make it one faction it seems. Always found it made the game more interesting and the eventual civil war more enjoyable.
Mrtobiasko  [author] 10 Jun, 2021 @ 2:15am
@nderimi Great to hear man, I'm working on one big update with new unit rosters, fixing egypt en updating the campaign map, also huge cities for barbarians, please be patient ;)
Nderimi 10 Jun, 2021 @ 12:37am
Gen max88. Awesome tip. Was able to copy the folder on the my mods. Not that I am claiming it as my work. Far from it. It just worked that way. And edited the modinfo file to something like Rome Accuracy + Local just so that I know what is what, but the icons on the mod manager display the local, my mods and steam stored files... However, I just finished Rome Julii Campaign on this mod, man!!! Bravo again Mrtobiasko, No crashed, changed the father to 30 yrs old, heir to 18, 2nd son to 17, and 3rd son to 16. Flavius Julius lasted for the whole campaign. Exploited the new diplomacy system, negotiated every settlement with Seleucids, Macedonians, Greeks, Gauls, etc., who betrayed me and my rep stayed intact to negotiate for more territories. Next campaign, with be old fashioned way for total domination... :) Thank you guys.... Appreciate you...
Majpalmer 9 Jun, 2021 @ 8:03am
BTW, I've used this excellent Mod with Mundus Magnus without any issues, so far.
general_maximus88 30 May, 2021 @ 9:58am
@oODAVIDOo you can either delete the file you referenced in the mod folder, the location of which you can find if you scroll down to my last post before this or just alter and adjust the desired lines of text in that file itself. Once you delete a file associated with a particular mod, then any revisions of the core game files will be operative in your game, so long as they're not being overridden by the same such file in the mod folder.
o0DAVID0o 30 May, 2021 @ 7:01am
is there a possibility of you adding a feature to the mod which allows you to change unit stats ingame? or maybe a way to exclude changes made to the unit_descr files? the mod removes the possibility of changing unit stats. i really love the mod so far! the extra settlements are extremely fun
ESKEHL 29 May, 2021 @ 4:34am
@Mrtobiasko I´m really excited about your mod, basically because you maintain the roman houses. I think this is crucial for the game.

A requst, is it at all possible to make family houses for Carthage as well? I think that would really improve Carthage gameplay and make it more realistic given that Carthage also was a republic ruled by a similar form of senate government.

Another request, the mod Red Romans, can you perhaps incorporate that into the game? I like my romans in red outfits, not blue or asterix green :)
general_maximus88 28 May, 2021 @ 8:50pm
@Nderimi, I would by no means claim to be an expert modder but I do believe that I have sufficient familiarity with the file structure of the game and its relationship to the steam mod folders to be able to perhaps answer your question. If you want to preserve the integrity of a previous edition or version of this or any other mod, simply go to the corresponding folder in the steam mod folder (location should be, C:\Program Files\steamapps\workshop\content\885970) and copy the contents of said folder. If the mod updates, as it will invariably do, you can simply copy and paste over the former legacy version and replace any new files with it so that the old files are still operative in the game. I have to resort to this method myself to maintain any semblance of continuity in my current campaign, otherwise I just end up having to start over again. Let me know if this is what you were asking about.
Skald 28 May, 2021 @ 2:03pm
@Mrtobiasko I've found a solution how one can play your awesome mod in other languages:
there is a file in folder "text" with name imperial_campaign_regions_and_settlement_names, one shold just rename it to preffered language, for example for german language you'll need to name it "imperial_campaign_regions_and_settlement_names_mac_de" - it worked for me)
Mrtobiasko  [author] 28 May, 2021 @ 12:22am
@Nderimi glad you enjoy it man! :D I probably will look into making a seperate mod where rome is united
Nderimi 27 May, 2021 @ 10:30am
Same with Hellenic Egyptians. How do I keep bronze age variations of it changes?
Nderimi 27 May, 2021 @ 10:28am
I love it. Amazing mod. I can't even imagine the toll it took on you. But you can tell the passion you expressed.
I can't believe I am saying this, after all that was said above but what does it take to have two variants? One to please people that want 4 roman factions and another one for unified.
A question for you expert modders, any guides on how to preserve the mod if the author decides to unify rome? Any links that I could use to modify the mod if it changes to unified?
And to you my genius, I will give you steam points as soon as I finish work today. Let me know if I can buy you a Starbucks card so that you can be fueled up and keep working on this masterpiece.
Majpalmer 26 May, 2021 @ 3:40pm
Great! I see you added Vulcan to the Julii pantheon. Still get Marian Reforms, I hope?
