As for the supercharging you can use the AFR controller by The Adester, works fine so far.

You simply add a large electrical pump to the air inlet and set up the MC.
There can be issues when placing engines in mirror mode making the pumps not fully utilize the flowrate, bugs with air port placement and apparently also a bug regarding the order of placement so be prepared for fun times ahead...
If I expand that type of boat into bigger classes, say 32m and 48m versions, those would definitely come with an autopilot.
I'm using my 3x3 pixel font to get more information on a single screen than what would be possible with the default 4x5 pixel font.
Might take some time to get used to it, heh.
