can you lower the joke rate. as amazing as these are i think in the last 100 npcs i talked one didnt joke. either i have crazy odds or there is a high joke rate

Getting an error with this mod in merchant.config.patch
Caused by: (JsonPatchException) Could not apply patch to base. (JsonPatchException) Could not apply operation to base. (JsonException) Cannot add a value to the entire document, it is not empty.
Probably because the path value is just ""?

@Ganondwarf I have identified a problem with your mod. When loaded alongside Bookstore, you patch the Bookstore to have your codexices. Problem is, you attempt to add "quirkyquotesv5" when only 4 volumes of Quirky Quotes exist. Please remove this unnecessary patch operation, as it prevents the Bookstore from being opened when used alongside your mod.

Working on modded races support. FU and Elithian Races are mostly done now, however much more there are I'll add over time, there's a lot :P

Thanks for the update Ganondwarf. I understand and am looking forward to the update when the time to make it is best for your life. This mod really does breathe some life into Starbound. :slimehappy:

Status update:

Plans are still the same with adding modded races, and another batch of content sometime.

I had been busy with other things recently and I will not promise any dates, but I expect to get back into Starbound and modding this in a short while. I know at least some of you are waiting for other races to start cracking em'.

@Gavin That's some good thinking. I'll do some digging; would have to get into .behavior files, hopefully not lua edits for that. I'll let you know once I see what can be done as I've never delved there before.

I have a good idea, how about making crew members and other npcs tell jokes to each other. I would definitely love to slice n dice some hostile cultists mid conversation.

If anyone is wondering about progress, I still plan on adding modded race support sooner or later, so yay! I'm now resuming working on this after getting stuck a few months back and also working on another mod.

Cool. I plan to get it out in a couple months or so to as many races with npc’s as I can. I haven’t got to seeing how many lines the modded races have built in, but I have 400 added so if your playing before then it won’t get repetitive, it’s just a little inconsistent with only 7/X races being funny.

This mod causes hostile guards to die, caused by an error in \dialog\combat.config.patch on lines 61 and 62. The comma at the end of line 62 should be on line 61 instead. Should be easy to fix ;)

@Talon yeah, I’ve no idea why this mod would cause any issues or conflicts as I just add text. I know if an npctype file has a syntax error it can cause them to die on sight/interaction, but not get damaged. I also remember them dying plus being able to be attacked when I had multiple npc behavior mods installed. If it’s really fine without this mod I don’t know what else to tell ya :/

I don't know why and I feel like the answer would be even more confusing but for some reason this mod makes NPCs take random ticks of damage, and sometimes even outright die. I uninstalled a few mods trying to single out this issue and this is the culprit???? WHAT???????? HOW?
