After playing a fresh Vanilla play through in 1.10, it occurred to me... this thing is kind of large for one person to run around... So I made a smaller Prometheus! Go check it out!

Updated for 1.10 to use new blocks. Finally able to get rid of "jagged" hull.

Can it detect coffee in the nebula?

Thanks @Alastria! It is scaled down, but I am happy with the feel of it. Glad you enjoyed my builds.

Best Voyager on the workshop! Loving the Delta Flyer and many of your Star Wars ships too!

Can your next ship be the original U.S.S. Enterprise.
I would love to see the build.

Wow really nice ! I had missed this beautiful creation, nice work Achenar !

It's funny you should say that. As for me it has always been more like 'Absence makes the heart grow fonder', or better for that matter.

A good example was when I first played Mass Effect 2 on 'Insanity' difficulty way back in the day. The one mission to get Morden Solus I got suck on because of all those krogen and vorcha. I took a month off, and first time playing that save to try again and beat it with ease. But after you get Morden and the ability to upgrade your gear the difficulty gets really watered down, so it was all down hill from there.

@Wandering Practice makes perfect. If you enjoy it keep at it, and you will get better. It's all about patience and furiously alt-tabbing to your source material :P Look to other people's work for inspiration and creative solutions to limiting issues.

Well, that all does make sense. And I wish I could make something good. The only things that I really did make well was;
A remodel of the UT-47 Kodiak which opened up the cockpit, but the base design was made first by AssassinDude.

And the other was the Warhammer 40k Necron Doomsday Ark. That was fully hand-built my me. And I still consider it a fluke. As I have not since been able to build anything near as good.

Both of those are seen on my profile, as well as all my other monstrosities. So I'm left with trying to find and use other better creations. But this ship was always one of my favorites. So I do thank you for your hard work and ability to create it.
Achenar  [author] 4 Jun, 2021 @ 10:39pm
@Wandering Voyager used the Type 6 and 8 throughout the show. The team later designed a sleeker Type 9 in season 2 but still used the old ones to save on costs. The Delta Flyer wasn't built until S5. So I think they do fit the ship's lore, just not as much as the delta.

Any size adjustment requires a full rebuild and I still maintain this is about as big as Empyrion can do. Voyager was built on the Prometheus frame, which is the biggest balance between size and usability. The thing you need to understand about size is that it compounds in 3D: so take a rubics cube, which is a 3x3 cube made of 27 cubes. Simply making it "just a bit bigger" as a 4x4, actually makes it nearly 2 and a half times larger, now containing 64 cubes. And all that extra weight slows it way down.

I think it would be better to just make a scaled down version of the Delta flyer, which I may do at some point. But I appreciate your comments, and I love engaging with people who enjoyed my builds, so thank you.

So, and I'm just thinking out loud here; Maybe think about making a version of the Voyager that is just a bit bigger to it can fit? Again this is still a great build, the the Type 6 and Type 8 just don't fit the ship. Well the ship's lore, you know what I mean.
Achenar  [author] 4 Jun, 2021 @ 5:22pm
@Wandering Mania Scimitar's Delta Flyer is honestly one of the most impressive SV's on the workshop. The attention to detail and faithfulness to the source material is top notch. This makes it a full size replica, bigger than even my scaled Millennium Falcon. Voyager is part of a series of scaled down ships, specifically aimed at being PC, and Server friendly... or at least friendlier. So, at about .5x scale, The whole ship is still scaled relative to itself. Modifying the shuttle bay to fit his delta flyer would sacrifice the relative scale of the ship, making it look extremely goofy, and sacrificing the deck layout.
Wandering Mania 2 Jun, 2021 @ 7:46pm
Great build. If only Scimitar's Delta Flyer would fit in the bay it'd be perfect.
Maybe think about adjusting it just a bit for that?

Still, great job.

Ah, I'd recognise the Strategic Design layout anywhere. Very nice work, and I must say the deck by deck cutaway was a really nice touch

Legit, I have done a few Star Trek vessels, but none TV Replicas.

You're welcome / De rien ;)

This is the ship I have been waiting for! great work! it doesn't take much work at all to make it useful in vanilla due to the spare cpu usage. Added more guns and extended cargo bay 2 for more grow plots. Thanks again, this ship is awesome :)
Achenar  [author] 17 May, 2021 @ 7:25pm
Thank you @Boss_CyAn1d3, I really appreciate that! Though the deck design really was the Voyager blueprint, as extrapolated from the show and designed by Strategic Design (RIP 2010). So credit where credit is due, I merely implemented (and condensed) the design of a great ship. (Linked deck plans for this, and many others in description)

But I am glad it worked out for you. I actually took some of the designs I figured out here and back-ported them to my Prometheus build.

Not sure what big build is next. Nova, Defiant, NX-01, and the ISA Excalibur or a whitestar from Babylon 5 are all things I have thought about. It is interesting, despite all my Star Wars builds, Star Trek has a MUCH more popular presence here on EGS workshop. My Star Trek build almost always do better than my Star Wars ones.
Boss_CyAn1d3 17 May, 2021 @ 7:14pm
Most ships i have to tinker with for HOURS to get set up to my liking... but this?

Literally all i had to do was wire in a "red alert", place the lights for it, and i was *done*.

Please, please keep up the good work! id LOVE to see a nova class in scale, and maybe some others down the line, and if you decide to take any more up, i hope the quality of work continues as well.

this is probably the best trek build ive seen in EGS.
Epic work. i cant say it enough.
Achenar  [author] 17 May, 2021 @ 3:45pm
@theScyme Thanks so much for taking the time to review my ship. I always hoped one of my builds would attract enough attention to lead to someone making a video review, so thank you. My French is pretty basic, so I did not understand most of the video, but I am glad you enjoyed the detail in the ship, even if it is not perfect for a blanced, playable ship.

[Best I can do in French]
Merci beaucoup pour la critique. Cela me rend fier de voir quelqu'un faire une vidéo. Je suis heureux que vous ayez apprécié le détail, même si le navire n'est pas parfait.

GRANDOIUS !!!!
Achenar  [author] 16 May, 2021 @ 6:10pm
@RoY it SHOULD technically move under it's own power, however, I do not know if you can cram in enough crew in to cover the CPU limit. Further, the size class is 24, so that is probably a no-no. So, out of the box, no not really. It really is just too big and likely has too many devices, tho I am no expert on reforged. I usually play Vanilla Eden.
RoY 16 May, 2021 @ 4:15pm
Is this compatible with reforged eden?
ThrillKillers 14 May, 2021 @ 9:32pm

Very cool replica! Excellent work!

@Scimitar Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Of course use what you can. Sharing ideas makes for better builds all around.
Scimitar 14 May, 2021 @ 2:24pm
Great job! I got lost in the Jeffries tubes within a minute. I like the detail. Shrinking the size so down and still keeping the immersion is skill. The overall shape is fantastic. The hatch to be able to load HVs is great ingame value. I also spawned an HV on D5 Cargo area just because it invites to do so. Didn't yet try out the shuttle but will do so. Overall she flies smooth and I engaged the Zirax just so I could make use of the weapons and it works good. The Main Engineering is spot on and so is the deflector room. Many things to mention, all in all well done. And boy will I copy your floor plan idea :D... If you don't mind.
