I messed up in the latest update, my bad. I'll push an update for it tomorrow on Saturday.
Just noticed the typo.
I actually deleted to completely drop using items.xml on this version since I wasn't doing that much with it, and it's a file that a lot of mods use, so opening space for other mods to give it more thoughtfully felt like the right thing to do. Didn't really do anything too interesting apart from shuffling stuff around and making the mod more light-weight and what I'd consider more "vanilla-like". Not sure what I was thinking with removing Curse of the Tower from the curse rooms, for example.
I'll take a look into it once I have time (this weekend should be good).
Correct. If you notice the items I changed the charge time for still having the old times, try unsubscribing, opening the game to uninstall, then subscribe again. Steam Workshop should update the mod normally, but sometimes it just doesn't for some reason.
Nothing has been completely removed from the game for the sake of completion viability with the mod active, it's the reason why I added a lot of the removed items into another pools, because they weren't anywhere but in deals.
Adding the Vengeful Spirit to the Treasure Room is a good idea. Did that. And no, I'm pretty sure they're not compatible, although you mentioning Rock Bottom reminded me of how it used to be on the Tinted Rock pool on Antibirth, I tried to do the same but didn't find a way so I decided to add it to the golden chest pool instead.
@RoyalMuffin
Glad you like it! And no, I don't have a version that only alters devil deals at the moment, but I certainly could do that for you. I'll let you know when I finish it, shouldn't take long.
I wanted to make devil deals and devil beggars more thematically consistent too (specially beggars). Most of the syringes I took out of the devil beggar pool are good, but I can't fathom as to why they're in there to begin with, I wanted the devil beggar to give you devil items. Not boss room items. It's why I removed stuff like Rotten Baby too, I know he's good, I just don't think it fits Devil Deals in the slightest. "Standardized Item Weights and More Thematically Consistent Devil and Angel Deals" is too long of a name, and I also took in consideration taking stuff out that was thematically consistent, but bad, like Demon Baby and Scapular.
Plan C is already in too many pools to begin with, and with standardized weights you find it a lot more often in curse rooms and shops (I have at least 4-5 Beast kills with it because of that), besides it's a useless item unless it's specifically going for a Beast end. Anything else is just unusable outside of extremely fringe cases.
Succubus is a good point though, it's nerfed yes, but it still has the damage multiplier so it's still a good item. I'll update to add it back.
Holy water - have you seen the new holy water? Non flying bosses are basically dead meat against it.
Growth hormones - Excuse me what? Speed and damage!
Loki's horns : extra shots, especially with luck.
Plan c : free beast kill when tainted character is already unlocked, or soul of laz.
Succubus : damage booster and damage aura, top tier familiar.
Book of the dead : shot blocker
Forget me now : extra item room, potential deal, and shop.
Delirious : Hillariously game crashing but also op as heck against bosses.
Synthoil : far above average dmg.
Dimensional baby : Not the best, but still a shot multiplier. Insane for synergy potential.
Oh, I made this mod specifically because a mod that only standardized weights already existed, I wanted to do more with it and also make devil deals fun again so I decided to do this one. Here's the one that only changes weight and nothing else. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2469511923
It only makes weights the same so I believe Sacred Orb should still work correctly.
No problem! I'm glad you're happy with it
@flatluigi
I had no idea that was a thing until you brought it up, I tested in game and that sadly does seem to be the case. A footnote on the wiki says that crafting recipes are based on item weight and quality, so I don't think there's a way to make it so this mod doesn't mess with the Bag of Crafting. Either way, I recommend just disabling this mod in-game when you're playing as Tainted Cain, since item rarity doesn't matter for him anyway, I'll make sure to point it out on the mod's description too
