This mod is what was breaking machine pop growth/modification?

Go figure, I find a fix for the problem after I decide to temporarily give up on finding a fix for the problem... :steamfacepalm:
I disabled this mod and I tried the one Hybris mentioned, and no more issue.
I just had to wait for the next month to tick over for pop assembly to kick in.
(no more 'need Gene Tailoring' for modifying machine pops, yay!)

At least I only wasted several hours trying to troubleshoot the issue before I took a break and ended up here to see if this mod still worked properly for 3.4.
Of which that answer is definitely "Nope".

I know this is super late and quite the necro, but yeah. This mod breaks robotic pop Growth.

Swapped out this mod for another "!!More Trait Picks" mod and was able to have my additional picks and still build robots.

Looking at the files the only difference I can tell from my limited knowledge of modding Stellairs is that beside renaming species_archetype file and changing a "defines" file I can't see why their mod works without issue and your broke.

So I have been troubleshooting my last playlist and found for some reason this mod disables the ability to build robots. Even starting with a robot or machine species I have no pop assembly and I get a odd message saying that there is no machine/robots to assemble.

I will try to play around with the load order just to make sure but so far it seems to be something with this mod after the Lem update.

For everyone having issues with the techs not giving more trait points, one workaround is to rename the file in steamapps\workshop\content\281990\2489536457\common\species_archetypes from "mtp_species_archetypes.txt" to "00_species_archetypes.txt". be aware however that this will conflict with other mods that modify the 00_species_archetypes file.

Quick update, from what I can tell, modifying the species_archetypes file to change the starting trait picks seems to make researchs and ascensions stop giving points. I've tried other similar mods to make sure i didn't fuck up on my end and it seems to happen for others as well.

I am looking into it but i am not a very experienced modder so no promises. Sorry for the inconvenience.

yeah I just tried a few variations like @Brishak & @Robow, and can also confirm that while the + trait research options show up, they don't offer you any points. Disabling the mod for now.

just a heads up it removes +points from all base game research, tested with and without mod on fresh save and the long run save i have.
