I found that this mod has a conflict with Azazel's Rage passive item, it makes it last less than it should be.
Could you fix it?

i don't know why the game didn't automatically update the mod, but i can confirm that it works. given this issue and the previous double-entry issue, i think steam just hates this mod in particular.

@Birb Hed Workshop mods update automatically, that's true for every game that supports the Steam Workshop. It even gives you a brief "Updating X mod..." loading screen in Isaac's case. Can you confirm the Brimstone has the new adjusted length for you? I will manually delete and reinstall the mod if so.

I was tired of using that awful nerfed Brimstone, if there is any item that I don't like how it got nerfe d it's Brimstone. It feels so satisfying to have the good old Brimstone back.
Thanks for this mod, I already played one game with this using Azazel and it felt so good that run.

dunno why that was happening (the metadata.xml i uploaded had the <id> tag), but it shouldn't happen anymore.

@big bill I have noticed the mod does not exactly install correctly. Firstly it creates two Mods menu entries - once after installing, then once again after relaunching the game. Secondly, inside the Mod directory folder, it creates one without an ID (just a metadata file) and one with. Pretty irritating.

To fix this, simply add the following line to the metadata.xml file found in the directory with the ID present, then delete the folder without the ID.

Is it possible to replace the new brimstone sound with the old one? The new sound really takes the 'laser' out of 'blood laser barrage'.

@pee man Most of us come from the Flash game where getting a single item could automatically maximize your damage and practically guarantee your win. These items still guarantee wins in Rebirth as their incredible effects persist, but their stats are generally lower. This is fine, as in exchange they have dozens of new synergies with items just as powerful. You are going to win the game regardless, albeit much slower.

One of these items then gets nerfed again, further making it weaker, stray farther from what the original once was. You want to make it convenient to win a game with an item that already guarantees a win. I don't think I have ever dropped a Brimstone run, runs that are now made 10-20 minutes longer because Brimstone is no longer just as effective; the nerf only matters when you're fighting bosses or enemies with armor as you're still killing their weenies and means of damaging you. Why not end the fight faster?

@Gworzor Agree 100%, I feel Brimstone lasts way too short post-nerf. The instant you fire it feels like the beam starts dissipating. It isn't nearly as satisfying to use as it used to be imo. I think the changed sound effects play a part in that too.

I can't figure out how to un-nerf it either (what even is this api?) I couldn't care less about doing less damage, I just want the duration back. The fun in Brimstone is charging that shit up and sliding it across the whole room. A lot harder to do that with the lower duration. If they wanted to nerf brimstone I wish they just lowered the damage since it just makes the item less fun to use which is never a good idea for a nerf (nerf numbers, not function).

And of course the worst part is revelation is incredibly overpowered and LONGER than old Brimstone totally killing devil deals alone to be honest.

i guess i went about reverting the nerf backwards, then. i can't find anything in the api that'd let me increase brimstone duration, but i'll update the mod if i figure it out.

"Brimstone beam duration has been reduced, dealing 9 ticks of damage total (down from 13), and it no longer gains bonus damage from Tammy's Head, Sad Bombs, or Varicose Veins." so yeah it was actually shortened.

It definitely lasts for a shorter time than it did in AB+ but I did the math and each shot deals damage 13 times.
