They are replaced but the items are automatically added to your character. I will try to make it remove the pedestal if it had a story item that got added to your character.

This mod is installed but the items are still replaced, any idea why?

Does this work with Filigree Feather? I worry that without specifically addressing that case, the trinket might be overridden by the mod.

It's actually confirmed that it removing story items isn't intended so I expect one of the upcoming updates to make this mod not needed anymore.

i really hope this gets put into the actual game. i think it's thematically appropriate that TMTRAINER bricks key items, but otherwise it doing that just kinda sucks, especially when you get it as a blind pickup.

Yeah, I didn't mention it since it works even without this fix (as the knife piece 2 unlock room is entered without your items being active).
However I think I'll add it to the description since it should work even if you do have items (which could happen if you have mods that spawn knife piece 2 somewhere else to skip the chase)

Does knife piece 2 work like it should with TMTRAINER? Just thinking since it's not mentioned in the list.

Intended or not, it means you usually can't reach ???/The Lamb/Mother/The Beast/Mega Satan in any run where you get TMTRAINER early enough, with The Beast even causing a softlock during the path to the boss.
This gets worse when you realize TMTRAINER can be acquired through loadout rerolling effects like D4, so any item that does that comes with a chance of making your run ineligible for a lot of bosses, which I don't think is a pleasant result.

Story items usually dont show up with TM trainer, and thats not a bug, just how the item works

Oh yeah, the way I handle items rerolling with the Tainted Lazarus rework is a bit hacky so I could see that breaking it.
If you were also playing Tainted Lazarus and didn't just have the mod installed while playing another character, keep in mind that the items will only cycle if you enter the room they're in while you're the Lazarus with Glitched Crown. If you enter as the other, the pedestal won't cycle and it will continue not to even if you become the other Lazarus.

Hm, alright. I only have tainted lazarus rework, better clicker, skip key piece 2 as game-altering mods, so I suppose it might be the first one

What other mods do you have installed, if any? I just checked and Glitched Crown seems to work fine with this mod installed. (it would be surprising if this mod made it stop working since it makes no changes unless you encounter story items while holding TMTRAINER)

This might break glitched crown, after I subscribed to this and found it in a run there was no item cycling

It automatically replaces any item that spawns, including hardcoded ones that aren't randomly generated from pools. This mod is a really tiny fix and doesn't actually make the items show up on pedestals, but adds them to your character when they'd normally spawn.
