hello :) I think I wrote everything correctly for this to work, but unfortunately nothing happens... I don't have any dinosaurs dropping materials... Can you help me please?
I'm on a private server...
I used Beacons.

Ark does not have client-side only mods. If you mean, does this work on Singleplayer as well as a dedicated server, yes.

@Luna2127 You add your new template to game.ini and then setup my configs in gus.ini(what dinos get what template added to their loot tables). That's it.

so i made custom templates in beacon but i don't think it's working is there something i have to do to use the template on my current server project?

This is awesome. I recently came to Ark after modding Skyrim for years and was disappointed to find that getting mods to synergize for this game is a lot harder. This helps a TON. Now I can add loot from other mods to mod-added dinos with ease. 10/10

Yes. Add the dino class to the ini.

If you had this: CustomLootEntries=*rex*,*raptor*:CustomDinoLoot_Raptors
And wanted to add your dino to it, add it: CustomLootEntries=*rex*,*raptor*,*SillyDino*:CustomDinoLoot_Raptors

You dont. Build your loot set in beacon and add all that ConfigOverrideSupplyCrateItems stuff to the proper place in your configs.

Use this mod to set which dinos use what lootset.

There's examples in the discussions and a slightly outdated but still highly relevant video in the mod carousel.

It is definitely a little involved, but it's the only sane way to make very in depth loot tables.
You need to make a loot set, with beacon probably since otherwise its bananas and then use this mod and set which dinos are using said lootset.

Not something I've ever seen/heard.

Dinos are fiddled with when players come near them. Every X-Y seconds(min/max times) within Z radius(range setting), valid dinos are buffed. When they die, loot is generated and added to body/dropped as a death cache. If you arent getting close enough or kill it almost instantly, loot might not be generated. You can fiddle with the inis if you wish, but that scenario basically shouldnt happen outside of admins flying around insta-killing stuff.

So question, does this completely override default drops? I want to remove berry drops, cloth armor drops, and stone weapon drops from certain dinos. So if I make my own custom drops for like say, a Rock Drake, and I want only feathers from them, and I put in the entry, does that mean a rock drake will ONLY drop from that custom loot drop?

If it's a lootset, it needs & after it instead of ,

You also have: *Paracer_Character_BP_C*,*: herbivore_stuff_C
Not sure what the ,*: is suppose to do...

Also no idea if you actually used the correct name for your lootsets. There's many examples in the discussions.

the problem is that the dinos have all the same packs... even the dinos in the game that are not registered.

How can I separate the packs? that the dodo and dilo can only have a pack and the others too?

After some testing and whatnot, I got it to work and spawn loot with the Brute dinos. Thanks a lot Quellcrest!

I'll try with other creatures and see what happens. It could just be the Brutes, since they only appear in Genesis missions, there might be some shenanigans going on with them.

I appreciate you taking the time to try and help me figure this out. And thank you for your mods in general, I use quite a few of them and are must haves in my modlists.

@Specimen You could give that a try, yes, but I don't think it should matter. You also may want to try a loot set I posted in the examples too, just incase yours is funky somehow. Also, try it on something silly like *dodo*. For all I know brutes are weird for some reason. Try and narrow down where the issue is.

Unfortunately it still doesn't work. The loot crate was set using Beacon. Maybe I got the GUS settings wrong somehow, like the Brute Rex ID. I could try; CustomLootEntries=*Volcano_Rex_Character_BP_Hunt*:CustomDinoLoot_TestBruteRex I guess and see if that works? but the initial config seemed fine.

You just have the crate name wrong.
ConfigOverrideSupplyCrateItems=(SupplyCrateClassString="DinoDropInventoryComponent_Volcano_Rex_Character_BP_Hunt_C",

Just change "DinoDropInventoryComponent_Volcano_Rex_Character_BP_Hunt_C" to "CustomDinoLoot_TestBruteRex"

Assuming the loot crate was build correctly, of course.

Hey Quellcrest, so after some tinkering, I've realised that I'm not quite understanding how to set up the configs properly. I wanted to add custom loot to Brute Rexes and I was hoping you could help me figure out what I've done wrong.

@khisanth That should work just fine. The system is pretty efficient. It only fiddles with dinos nearby to players as necessary.

Wondering if it is possible to do something like *_character_* to get all dino affect by a specific loot.
I was thinking of adding a 0.1% (playing with weight on beacon) of getting skin from killing any dino.
Or it is not advised to do so (too much dono check?) Or not possible (too much matching blueprint)?

For the most part dinos should only drop tributes now so like rex tooth n stuff but doubl the amount. thanks for the beacon suggestion and responding!

@Ketobby It would. It's the equivalent to editing boss loots. There's a string you use for the ConfigOverrideSupplyCrateItems lines(ie: DinoDropInventoryComponent_BossDragon_Easy_C). You'd have to edit like 50+ drop components, but it's dosable. There's no 1 liner fix though, no.

Thanks for the fast response! I just wanted a quick easy way to disabling instead of editing dino inventories individually. I don't even know if editing dino's "loot crates" would work on my server since i have beacons disabled.
