Thanks for the response. I love the shio by the way and cannot wait to start using it.
as for the shuttles, i couldnt see anything on the screens for a local control. i mean i know u can assume local control once its undocked but cant undock from within the ship. I understand if its by design as it stops people from running alone off with a ship.
I cant seem to find a way to do it on anywhere
Haven't tried it yet but most ships can have their batteries upgraded at stations to hold way more power. Would recommend doing that if you're not content with the current capacity.
You could also modify the sub yourself to extend the capacity, but the default value is already pretty generous. I sometimes reduce the value to give a nuclear engineer player more to do.
In the power management room under the reactor. Click on the screen and toggle battery charging on and battery power off. It will then trickle charge the batteries from the reactor. The other option is to stay docked to stations for awhile until it fully charges the batteries. About 2 missions is the longest the batteries are intended to last without charging
