Great, looking forward to it!
I don't know of any specific discord servers for Fantasy Realms, but the TTSClub discord is nice for playing TTS games in general.

@fezz
I'd be down to connect with you on discord and play a game. I'm pretty busy this week, but I'll add you sometime next week.
# Fantasy Realms
We were able to recreate miscalculation when using Collector + Doppelgänger and a possible issue with Book of Changes not applying a suit change when using it on Book of Changes itself (maybe a language misunderstanding though).
I’ve got screenshots I can share for both cases if you're interested (but links were deleted when I tried to post them here).
# My game
It’s finished, no further testing needed. I’ve written a concept script for Tabletop Simulator (not LUA yet as I'm no developer), covering most mechanics. Would love your thoughts!
If you're up for it, we could even play a round (non-scripted) on Tabletop and chat via Discord. I have all the components ready.
Feel free to add me on Discord: fezz8386
Cheers!
I'm a bit out of practice for updating this mod, but I may come back in the future and add it. Probably not soon.
Glad you've been enjoying it. The collector bonus should be counting cards that change suit as well, since I believe that happens later. I was checking the code, and cards changed by the book of changes should be counted as the new suit from then on. If I get a moment I'll see if I can reproduce, but if you run into it again please take a screen shot and I'll take a look.
In terms of mods, I'm not really working on new ones these days, but when I was it was just games I really liked and thought could benefit from scripting. A lot of games work fine without scripting, and the amount of work that goes into a mod like this isn't worth it for something that is subject to change a lot. I'd recommend just creating a basic TTS mod for testing your game. Who knows, maybe I'll play it after it's finished and be inspired to make a fully scripted version.
Two things:
1) Is it intentional that the Collector bonus does not take into account cards whose suit has been changed by Book of Changes? This seems to be off.
2) Is there any chance you are interested in learning & creating another game? I'm currently brainstorming a Tabletop Simulator concept of my very own card game (unreleased), but I have no scripting knowledge whatsoever, so I just thought I would take a shot and ping you to ask if you would be interested ;) Let me know!
Again: Thanks for providing the game!
Cheers
Glad you guys have been enjoying it!
Also glad to hear after so many plays you just ran into the one scoring error. Next time I need to update something on this mod, I'll make sure to fix that. Thanks!
Just FYI, there is just one interaction that doesn't work - if you have Wildfire and Genie, the Wildfire doesn't remove the Genie's "base score" of -50. You should be allowed to blank the genie down to 0, and still pull a card for it.
Aside from that, and the game just fizzling out weirdly due to minor graphical bugs (which are fixed with reconnecting easily.), never had any points issues.
It should pick the one that gives the most points, but it may have some calculation error. I could make a toggle that makes it not choose for you. I have to choose for some cards since I didn't create any interface to pick, but the book has a UI for it. In the meantime, you can clock the button for the official scoring app to spawn a tablet with the website, and you can pick yourself.
I've looked at them around when they released. They have enough rules changes that it's not super simple just to implement it. If I get back into making new mods I'd consider it though.
When playing the 2 player varient, it's possible to have 12 cards in the discard area, while a player does not yet have a full hand of cards. You continue playing until both players have a full hand, regardless of how many cards are in the discard area. This only happens if players are taking only from the deck, which is unlikely. I just tested it, and if both players only take from the deck, you will end up with 16 cards in the discard by the end. No need to use manual mode. Note, this is only for the 2 player variant, as explained in the rulebook.
I believe the 2 player variant(which is a toggle) already allows for more than 12 discarded cards. I thought you were referring to having more than 12 with the base game+expansion.
In terms of replacing the Necromancer with the Jester, I was just following the rules at the time. This mod was made before the deluxe version was out, but personally I think it's better to keep the suit counts the same.
Regarding the Phoenix, I may add it at some point if I come back to work on this mod, but currently I have no plans to add it.
Which page of the rulebook mentions the game ending at 14 cards? I didn't see it under the variants.
Okay, I added a manual toggle. I even got the app scoring to work on cards in your hand. Let me know if you run into any issues.
I could implement a manual mode, but it wouldn't have any scripting, including the scoring. The way I implemented this mod makes it only work if everything is locked down, since I don't use scripting zones at all. I would probably say that if you want to use the cursed items you need to use a different mod, like the one I link in the description.
That's strange. It must be calculating the score in some weird way to determine which change will get you the most points. It's gonna be a lot of trouble to go through the scoring code after all this time, but I could set the Book of Changes to always have you manually pick(it currently only has you pick if you have too many wild cards). Otherwise, if you suspect there is a scoring error, you can use the official scoring app linked in the mod to calculate the score yourself. It will fill in your cards for you, so it should be quick to double check. Sorry about the bug!
first of all: fantastic job on the scripting, especially the AIs.
However, I've come across a small mistake in the atomatic scoring. Hand was:
Rangers, Necromancer, King, Knights,
Book of Changes, Warlord, Dwarvish Infantery, Empress (picked with Necro)
Endgame scoring used the Book to automatically change the suit of the Warlord to Army for a final score of 172, when changing the Empress to Army totals 178 (or changing King to Army 176).
I already have the new suits from the Cursed Hoard expansion. I don't have any plans to add the cursed items at this time. Sorry.
For Shapesshifter, I have it automatically choose what card to become based on which gives you the most points. It looks like in this case, there was no way for the Shapesshifter to score points, so it just let itself get blanked. If you are unsure if the script scored correctly, or want to manually choose what to copy, you can click the "USE OFFICIAL SCORING APP" button to spawn a tablet with the official scoring app. It will automatically fill in the cards in your hand, so you just need to pick what to copy.
Just from a rules point of view - in the popular 2 player variant ...
... the designer has clarified that you must discard one of the two cards you pick up from the deck. Currently your mod allows any of the cards to be discarded.
Yeah, I note that in the instructions above.
ahh I see, thanks for the clarification!
I assume it's also the same case for other cards like Doppelganger and Shapeshifter?
I set it to automatically choose the option that will give you the most points, unless you have too many copy cards for the script to handle. If you want to double check, you can spawn the scoring app on the tablet by clicking the button "USE OFFICIAL SCORING APP" and choose yourself there.
By the way, the ai is very good xD
Two game in a row than one of them do aver 300 ahah
The setting "Allow App Scoring During Game" will have the button that spawns the official scoring app to the tablet appear during the game. If you press the button, it spawns the tablet with your current hand already entered into it. You can press the button again to load your new cards if you want.
The setting is if people want access to the scoring app during the game to calculate their score.
You can add me on steam, and I can walk you through the components if you want.
But there are two decks!? "Base Game" with 45 cards and a deck with 7 cards on top. Where is the missing 53rd card?
Turn off automatic script running before loading the mod. It's in Modding>Scripting>Check mark top right.
But I have a questoin: I would like to make a german version. How can I add my german cards? I can't customize the deck as in other games. So how can I change the url to the image file from the cards? Hope you can help. :)
The script won't start until you are loaded completely. I can double check the rulebook link, but it should be working. You can try maybe turning mod caching off, it clearing your TTS mod cache to see if that helps.
