It is a generational thing. Both symbols are ancient, but most people only associate it with the first thing they have experienced having the symbol. Probably in a few years people who only saw our version of Ouroboros will talk about it when another thing makes their own version of the symbol. Most major cutlures of the past had their own version of the symbol - Norse, Egyptian, Chinese.
