The game changed a lot since I made the map and from what I remember back then the eastern door was doable. Maybe I really should rework my maps, I don't want to frustrate players.
Also going through the eastern door is suicide, the moment I open it I was mowed / pinned down no matter how much I prepped with smoke, bangs and frags. I think you should make it a viable option, currently it is not.
So after a few tries I went through the northern tunnel and the mission was over immediately after I rescued the 2 hostages. After clearing like 20% of the map. Without even getting close to the allied VIP. That felt quite underwhelming.
When I use the Ambassador (hostage) he doesn't get shot, but the level never completes if you extract him. But if you use the normal ambassador everything works fine, except that he gets immediately shot :D It doesn't help that the base game has only 2 missions with this objective and they use both ambassador versions. But if it works for the devs it means I must have done something wrong in my map.
