Please Support these LGBTQ+ Assets and help protect them from hate.
LemonsterOG 12 Jun, 2021 @ 5:56am
@magnushmann -- And now you see why we kept responding to the people harassing us.
TheKillerChicken 12 Jun, 2021 @ 2:25am
I guess magnushmann is desperate for attention as they clearly were never loved in life. Very sad...
Sir Kroitz 12 Jun, 2021 @ 2:14am
Soooo I heard there's some downvoting going on here.
+1 Upvote. Award has been given.
Good deed has been done. Keep it up!
QuantumEterna 11 Jun, 2021 @ 6:02pm
@magnushmann Holy shit dude, for someone trying to leave, you sure are desperate to have the last word. Even wrote a whole double reply about trying to leave. Sure sounds like you just wanna be in the spotlight in a conversation that didn't involve you.
CBQ Fanatic  [author] 11 Jun, 2021 @ 5:54pm
@magnushmannz just gotta get that last word don't ya
CBQ Fanatic  [author] 11 Jun, 2021 @ 5:53pm
@jimtduffy I much prefer the progress flag tbh and also know quite a few that prefer the progress flag over the standard rainbow but everyone likes different things and that's ok.
magnushmann 11 Jun, 2021 @ 5:45pm
2/2 The only reason I have kept responding after my initial comment was essentially to clarify and correct assumptions made. I didn't want this. I didn't want attention. I don't know what this urge to interpret everything I have said in the most uncharitable way possible is about, but I initially didn't have it in me to just stand by and watch. Again, I didn't want to have to do that, but I'm just not the type to let blatant mis-characterisations slip by. I just want to leave this now. Can we please make some kind of amends, anything? You owe me nothing though. I just don't care for this situation anymore now.
magnushmann 11 Jun, 2021 @ 5:45pm
@AquilaSol 1/2 Why do you keep this goiiiiing, I'm trying to leeeeeeeave. I think you are entirely misunderstanding what I'm saying and have been saying this entire time, as well as - importantly - the tone it was meant to be said in. It's really a shame, because if you didn't assume some sort of bad faith because I went on to slightly deviate from the accepted path that has apparently been set, you would understand that we are really not that different in terms of views on these things.
jimtduffy 11 Jun, 2021 @ 5:43pm
Happy pride! (Not a fan of that new version of the flag though. The reaction among most LGBT people seems to be that it is horrid and they will continue using the original flag, not any of the proposed alternatives. It got slated in most LGBT media.)
donoteat 11 Jun, 2021 @ 5:09pm
just here to say trans rights, downvoters are scum
AquilaSol 11 Jun, 2021 @ 1:52pm
@magnushmann No, you just wanted attention. You didn't care to add anything of value to the conversation, you just wanted to say something. Even if it was entirely unhelpful and just to insult the people defending themselves, you wanted the attention focused on you. The classic "A man arrives to share his manly opinion".

And when people didn't say what you wanted to hear (how amazing your message was and how right you were about it), and instead called you out on the bullshit, you tried to throw the 'I'm being punished for being unafraid to speak my mind.' cliche.

Oh, and by "being unafraid to speak your mind" you were doing the exact thing you accused us of being insufferable for. Pot, meet kettle. You were being just as insufferable, if not more so because nobody asked for you to grace us with your judgement.
magnushmann 11 Jun, 2021 @ 9:39am
@AquilaSol That's also not what I'm saying at all, but I digress. This conversation came to be about all kinds of things I didn't will it to and I will take LemonsterOG's advise and silence myself out of here. I realise that it's my own fault for being to engaging and unafraid to speak my humble mind. I respect you all. Peace.
AquilaSol 11 Jun, 2021 @ 7:39am
@magnushmann We are not their mothers and we are not responsible for them. They're gone from our community and that's all the attention I'm willing to give them at that point. Those people do not deserve my time, energy or dedication. Especially not when they've just threatened to kill me 5 minutes earlier.

You're not going to undo hatred born out of religious indoctrination, and we sure as hell aren't going to tolerate it. Bullies have no place in a community, and it's not our job to be nice to them. So booting them out is a perfectly effective option.

You can't coexist with people who want you dead. And anyone who thinks you can is a naïve, privileged fool who has never had to fight for his basic human rights, freedom, and the right to simply exist.
LemonsterOG 11 Jun, 2021 @ 7:25am
@magnushmann -- It's all we have available to us on Steam. Everyone can report and/or block them, authors can remove their posts, but we're definitely not going to be silent when we're attacked.

I think you stepped into an issue without knowing/understanding it. I didn't comment much in this thread, because sometimes saying nothing is the best thing to do. It's my opinion that you should have done this.
CBQ Fanatic  [author] 11 Jun, 2021 @ 7:24am
Which is how that works. Without moderation your space turns into a cesspit. With moderation people think about what they say and there are consequences for what is said.
magnushmann 11 Jun, 2021 @ 7:04am
@AquilaSol I can't even describe how short term that solution is. Those people you ban don't stop existing, you know. They have just been pushed one more layer underground. Unless they are trolls ofc, then fair enough.
AquilaSol 11 Jun, 2021 @ 6:56am
@magnushmann
"one cannot ban hate, ignorance, bigotry and stupidity, only enforce it by trying. "

As the admin/moderator of about half the Cities Skylines community, who bans about 10 people a week and roughly 30 a week in Pride Month, for exactly that:

Yes, you very much can.

It's called moderation. That's literally what it's for. The only problem is most communities are run by people who don't want to risk other people thinking negatively of them. You can't be an admin and be friends with everyone. You either take a stand or end up with a community full of trolls and bigots.
CBQ Fanatic  [author] 11 Jun, 2021 @ 6:52am
Ok but you can, and it has been done, tell that to the countless lgbtq spaces I'm in
magnushmann 11 Jun, 2021 @ 6:50am
I shouldn't have even chimed in, I realise that. Thanks for the context @LemonsterOG

I will say this though, one cannot ban hate, ignorance, bigotry and stupidity, only enforce it by trying.
Eva 11 Jun, 2021 @ 6:50am
you literally can, its called moderation
AquilaSol 11 Jun, 2021 @ 6:49am
@magnushmann So in short, "Yes".
Women and minorities have always been called "Insufferable" for standing up for themselves. Mostly because people don't like seeing other people get all the attention in the room. So not much has changed there.

To watch hatred and stand by in silence is to approve and support hatred.

I do not regret for one nanosecond going nuclear on a bunch of braindead bigoted trolls, nor do I regret trolling them back. And if in doing so I defend people who are being attacked for simply existing, I will gladly risk someone else thinking I'm "insufferable". Especially if those people are my friends.

Better to be deemed insufferable than to remain silent in fear of judgement.
CBQ Fanatic  [author] 11 Jun, 2021 @ 6:39am
Don't tell me how to respond to trolls on my own workshop items, k thanks
LemonsterOG 11 Jun, 2021 @ 6:39am
@magnushmann -- The same bigot that was spewing hate is also a member of the Aniti - Anime Group and has a rule number 3 as, "Raid anime pages and profiles" and a previous topic titled, "BLM is terrorist organization" with an included tag line stating, "They don't deserve equality. They deserve bananas", where the word 'bananas' implies a gun.

You consider all this appropriate for the Steam workshop?

I reported the group and post and internal comments.

Steam seems to be where hate goes to hide and fester.
CBQ Fanatic  [author] 11 Jun, 2021 @ 6:38am
Yet here you are
magnushmann 11 Jun, 2021 @ 6:28am
@AquilaSol I very specifically wrote "make yourself look insufferable"; A minute but ultimately quite significant distinction.
As for anything written, any context making it look appropriate has now been removed and what we are left with doesn't look pretty, if not out right petty.
It looks like trying to convince people who are too far gone to change their opinion anyway, evidenced by the fact that they go to the comments of a freaking steam workshop asset of all things to spew their nonsense. Either that or feeding the trolls, which is, as everyone should know, what they want.
It has the effect of making anyone now looking at this comment section drawing conclusions I for one definitely wouldn't want them making. And that is a bummer, especially if your intention is the opposite in general.
The steam workshop comment section might not be the best place for any of this regardless.
AquilaSol 11 Jun, 2021 @ 5:58am
@magnushmann Please tell me you didn't just call people defending themselves from hateful comments, deaththreats and other such pleasantries "insufferable."

As for what was deleted, for reference, I have an inbox full of "Action has been taken on a comment you reported" messages from Steam Community Moderation, solely from reporting bigots in the comment section.
magnushmann 11 Jun, 2021 @ 4:50am
What the fuck is this comment section? You all make yourself look insufferable. I mean, I imagine what ever is now deleted was much worse, but what is left doesn't look much better, constructively nor productively.
AquilaSol 7 Jun, 2021 @ 4:58pm
@Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse You've clearly never read the bible. Here are some things your bible explicitly forbids that you're guilty of or likely will be at some point.

Buying a house - Leviticus 25:23
Wearing mixed fabrics. (90% of all clothes) - Leviticus 19:19
Working on a Saturday - Leviticus 23:3
Wearing jewelery - Timothy 2:9
Touch a dirty animal, such as a puppy that ran around in the mud - Leviticus 5:2
Short haircuts - Leviticus 19:27
Shaving - Leviticus 19:27
Mistreating foreigners - Leviticus 19:33-19:34
Sitting down when you talk to your grandparents - Leviticus 19:32
Eating rabbits. - Leviticus 11:4
Eating shellfish, clams, oysters, urchins, or lobsters. - Leviticus 11:10
Eating fat or blood (Such as a steak) - Leviticus 3:17
Wearing ripped jeans - Leviticus 10:6
Tattoos - Leviticus 19:28
Holding a grudge - Leviticus 19:18
Pulling out - Genesis 38:9-10
Divorce - Mark 10:9

You know what else is a sin? Casting a stone when you yourself are not without sin.
Jonkler 7 Jun, 2021 @ 4:22pm
Bruh homophobes and transphobes are cringe
Eva 7 Jun, 2021 @ 11:23am
Its a cow lmao
LemonsterOG 7 Jun, 2021 @ 11:19am
I've never been a big fan of fiction literature.
Pewex 7 Jun, 2021 @ 11:15am
lmao @ telling me to read the bible, i 100% bet you're some protestant or catholic heretic
CBQ Fanatic  [author] 7 Jun, 2021 @ 11:10am
This was stupid from the start, the ignorance from the beginning was just astounding tbh
Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse 7 Jun, 2021 @ 11:09am
This is just getting stupid
CBQ Fanatic  [author] 7 Jun, 2021 @ 11:08am
Cause it kinda sucks
Eva 7 Jun, 2021 @ 11:08am
I read it in highschool, boring ass book.
Eva 7 Jun, 2021 @ 11:02am
Thank you for demonstrating why pride exists and is important to many people.
CBQ Fanatic  [author] 7 Jun, 2021 @ 11:02am
Hot take we can treat Veterans and gay people better it's not mutually exclusive
also like you wonder why gay people are so hostile towards you then drop that bomb, ok dude.
Pewex 7 Jun, 2021 @ 11:01am
because we pointed out your hypocrisy in a way that is too plain for you to deny and you can't deal with the cognitive dissonance that you're experiencing now? grow up.
Pewex 7 Jun, 2021 @ 10:56am
"explain why I only care about pride month whenever it comes around but I never pay attention to military appreciation month" -you
Eva 7 Jun, 2021 @ 10:55am
because noone wants to celebrate war crimes
Pewex 7 Jun, 2021 @ 10:55am
the extent you people care about your veterans: saying "thank you for your service" to anyone in camo... and that's it lol
CBQ Fanatic  [author] 7 Jun, 2021 @ 10:54am
@Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse Because conservative reactionaries don't care about Veterans, easier to politicize culture war around gay people.
Pewex 7 Jun, 2021 @ 10:54am
cuz nobody gives a fuck, including you since you clearly didn't even bother to check if such a thing existed
Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse 7 Jun, 2021 @ 10:51am
Explain why pride month is more publicized than that month
CBQ Fanatic  [author] 6 Jun, 2021 @ 12:30pm
@Hillsboro Inlet Light house
They literally have a month, May is military appreciation month
Eva 6 Jun, 2021 @ 10:05am
