@goobins I'm pretty sure warcaskets are permanent, once your pawn equips it, it cant come off

for some reason, warcaskets can remove their helmets after being undrafted. is there a fix for this?

I get some bugs in 1.4 still, but nothing game breaking. No console errors or anything either. The worst that'll happen is sometimes they'll not take it off or put it on which doesn't happen all the time, but the rare one that IS kinda bad is that they'll just DROP the helmet rather than put it in their inventory. Seems to happen at random times, but it's pretty rare.

I'll give it a try and if it bugs out for me, I'll throw up a patch if possible.

I don't think I got any errors when I tested it in 1.4 though. We'll see.

it's "working" in 1.4 for me... however, the pawns are also removing their hair on the map when they take the helmets off. not sure if its this mod or some other one

Could you perhaps make a fix so pawns in Warcaskets from Vanilla Pirates Expanded won't take off their helmet, deleting it in the process?

Guys i can't understand. Mod is just isn't working. Draft/undraft, taking new one, pawns just dont care about it.

This mod is perfect for my needs, just one issue I have. I like some of my pawns to wear hats outside of combat, as demanded by their ideology role. So when I draft them, they just drop this hat on the ground and equip their combat helmet. Then after combat I have to go haul them back to a stockpile, so they will automatically re-equip them later based on their assigned outfit.

Is there a way, perhaps through another mod, that when they are drafted they simply switch their equipped helmet with the combat helmet in inventory?

yeah the vanilla equip speed is what kills this mod. it is so easy to draft them forget to wait a moment to equip then order them somewhere. often they run into battle without a helmet because I did not notice they were still equiping. if equip speed was instant it would help.

there is also the issue of them randomly storing their helmet somewhere at times

Solution to helmet hoarding: manually forbid all helmets in storage. Once I did that, this mod is gorgeous! :steamhappy:

sometimes the pawn does not equip the helmet. such as when they drafted and moving at the same time.

I would love a similar mod where pawns will have weapons not in their hands slung on their back or belt. I love the idea of my huntress having her rifle on her back instead of a magic pocket, but I can't seem to find any mod that does that

Maybe you could make it, so that when you draft a pawn and move him instantly, so he doesn;t have time to wear the helmet, the task of wearing it stays on the list, and he'll do it as soon as he has nothing else to do

Would love the alternative "cheaty" version IMO because i'm constantly having my colonists leave helmets lying around or pick up others. Pick up and haul/share the load are present.

Tried with Pick and Haul disabled. Same problem. They'll grab a second helmet and wear that whilst undrafted.

I think i found the underlying issue why pawns may hoard helmets: If they have one in their inventory, they won't consider it equipped and equip another one from storage, so once they're undrafted they remove the helmet again and suddenly have two.

@Limey Lassen, sounds like a load out conflict with some inventory mod. This mod doesn't prompt pawns to pick up helmets, it only has them use whatever is in their inventory already.

I've had some issue with pawn hoarding 2 or more helmets in their inventory. Might be because I'm telling them to move right after drafting, so they forget to put the helmet on and grab a new one later.

anyone tested with [KV] Show Hair With Hats or Hide All Hats, i was looking for something like this but Hide Hats When Not Needed wasnt compatible with it.

@Sumatris, they'll replace non-combat headwear with helmets as well. So if for example the pawn is wearing a cowboy hat they'll quickly and dramatically throw it to the ground so they can equip their helmet when drafted.

Nice idea. Do pawns replace other headwear they might be wearing with the helmet, or does this restrict them to just the helmet and nothing else?

@Uziel, I've tested with pick up and haul, it works. I they're unloading it's probably an inventory mod in which you're setting a loadout for a pawn.

Ive got a couple of clothing mods - Rimmunation helmets dont seem to get toggled, as do the ones from the excellent looking SCP clothing mod (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2256831688&searchtext=scp) .
