you can already play as mom without mods. magdalene is the name of the mother, as you can hear in the fighting, in the ascent stage of the game, before home you can you isaac's father say "SHUT UP MAGGY, JUST SHUT UP!"

i think it would be pretty sick if tainted mom was compatible with tainted names so that her name is "the witness"

help she dosent start with mom's knife

Starting with a top tier tear replacment item seems a tiny bit OP, Sure the low damadge does help but nah this a bit too much for me. Great mod though

Just for mom, as it doesn't actually modify mom's knife itself, but just stars the character with a damage down

As this mod description says mom's knife starts with less dmg, would i have that reduction with other modded characters using mom's knife as their start weapon or is it just for mom?

I feel like the non-tainted version of Mom shouldn't have Mom's Knife and instead just have the Mom transformation so the Tainted version is more unique.

could mom's dead co-op baby have a weak mom's knife, like how azazel's has a weak brimstone and forgotten's has a weak bone?

Personally I think that Tainted Mom should be a "post Isaac death's mom".

She's got a lot sadder appearance, doesn't have the knife, but instead of it she's got some sort of an item related to her son's passing. Maybe it's a drawing that lets her summon an Isaac-like ghost familiar.

Just throwing out some ideas.

I feel like if Tainted Mom (Mother) had an achievement name, it would be The Witness, as a reference to their original name.

Pretty good mod, tho Mother could use a bit more flair imo (both visually and gameplay wise)

She looks way too much like the Keeper IMO, I think giving her teeth, an edited Forgotten's body and maybe some pieces of hair on the left side of her head as a reference to T. Maggy to hammer the whole Maggy = Mom thing


As for gameplay she could have more references from her boss fight, maybe Tinytoma or a better pocket active considering her gimmick makes it redundant

I kinda agree with ScorpGrox.
Maybe a solution is to have her already have the confessionals spawning, though only with her until you get that requirement.
Either that, or have her "LOCKED" until you do that.
Or add a unique way to fix the hearts that ONLY she has.
Or...

...There's a PLETHORA of a solutions, though I'm no judge of which one's the best one.

Cool mod, but you pretty much can't do anything worthwhile with Mom until you've beaten Mega Satan with tainted Bethany . Oh well, at least I can enjoy playing as Mother!

...AND AGAIN, ALSO, what if she applies the various Mom items properly...?
Like how with the lipstick, Isaac sloppily applies the red around his lips, but with Mom, the lipstick is much more orderly?
Or with Mom's perfume, she doesn't spray it into her eye, it instead wafts around her head?
OR with Mom's Contact, it could not discolor any skin around the eye...?

...WOW, I am just shooting out ideas left and right...

...Also, this may just be me, but I don't like the way that Tainted Mom's face looks.
And I don't mean the giant blob on her face.
Maybe because I think that it makes her look like she starts with Dead Onion, an item that I just don't like the appearance of...

...And I just irrationally dislike, even though it's an alright item in my eyes...

Could you give her the traditional facial look, just with a gouged-out eye and rotten looking teeth...?

Also, maybe instead of calling her "Mom," you could call her "Moriah," Isaac's family's last name...?

...Right, I've got to consider another possibility:
So what if that knife was implanted through her chest, leaving her unable to fire, and instead relying on her minions?
And if she runs out of these little friends, the knife leaves her chest violently, becoming functionally identical to the Knife formed by the Knife Pieces, although it leaving her causes her to start producing Creep, colored like the Cage's rotten fluids...

And if you are starting to run low on minions, perhaps there's another way to get them?
Like, maybe she can find items dropping from enemies, with different kinds containing small bundles of the different minions she can command...?

Just a HUGE idea I got out of nowhere.
I hope it can be put to use...

And I shall share it with you:

What if Tainted Mom controls friendly enemies, like the friendly flies, spiders and dips, and commands their movements with a special cross-hair?
And this doesn't just effect those, either. Charmed enemies could be controlled as well, and maybe she has her own unique friendly maggots, like the tiny ones found in Corpse, and leeches, like the ones found in Downpour?

OH, here's a another bit:
What if she could select what enemies she wants to control, and what enemies she wants to stay by her side?
Maybe she could have a special item that let's her do just that...?
