Could you look into the fact that if you shoot a car on a finale stage (that isn't like the Parish) you completely skip over the first wave sometimes? I'm not sure what causes that.

@Manacat I think it's happening on every custom campaigns, I've played Urban Flight and Rural Tour among others until I chose to disable it.

I hate to be that guy, but I don't think this mod is working at the moment. It seems that the car alarms are placed in their original spots and not in random places. The only time I see a car alarm in a different place is in the first level of 'No Mercy', where the car alarm sometimes spawns near the area when you exit the alleys. Other than that, the car alarms usually stays in its original placement. Just thought I'd let you know.

Is it possible to made the script customizable? Cuz the current script seems to be messing with custom campaigns by replacing almost every eligible cars with alarmed cars.

Just getting started on making a mockup in Notepad++, but maybe the start could be:

"function OnGameEvent_infected_hurt" as a start to such a script idea?

Would you mind if I messaged directly, just for help learning some basic Vscripting?

Makes sense. Idk how it would be target either, I guess one would have to make any damage the infected takes to produce the "shove" effect, but idk if that would cancel out the death. Or maybe make it dependent on damage from the infected side, instead of basing it on the guns. Some sort of string that would be "If damage is not fatal", or "On_TakeDamage"(if that'a event).

Ah, I getcha. Does suck when things are limited by what you're provided.

Are you any decent with editing common infected stuff? Cause I had an idea for a script where commom infected would play their verious "stagger" animations when hit with a non-fatal gunshot, similar to being shoved by a survivor.

I've played that map and seen that police car, of course i like that. but the problem is the police cars don't have glow lights on their windows. I can't do that now because we can't find out the difference between alarm and non-alarm cars, sadly.

If the TLS team can make the update, of course I'll add other alarm cars. The TLS team already has glowing windows ready for other cars, but they can't update them without Valve's approval, so they are waiting for lazy Valve forever now. ( https://github.com/Tsuey/L4D2-Community-Update/pull/406 )

Could you potentially consider adding police cars to the mix? There's a segment of a campaign called "Precinct 84", where there is an alarmed police car in one of the levels, and I'd love to see the police car right out the alley in c8_apartments be alarmed in a similar manor.

I like this mod a lot, but it's getting really annoying after a while when the survivors fucking yell all the time when they see a car. They don't just spot the car, no they scream GOD DAMMMIT, then they scream WAAAAAAATCH OUUUUUUT and then WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATCH YOUUUUR FIIIIIIIIIIREE, what is this shit? it's especially frustrating when there's 2 or 3 cars in a row, they all take turns to scream. Shouldn't this be part of your other mod called active bot talker?

Is this likely to cause crashes on custom maps? I have a few one's I've tried to run, and it seems when a map goes from an interior to an outdoor section in the transition, sometimes my map will either lag briefly, or crash.

15/10 - Should have been in the game to begin with. Teaches you to be more cautious, and adds more replay-ability to the game, which is always great.

1. The alarm does not work even if the bot shoots or jumps on the vehicle. (same as Vanilla)
2. The bot recognises the alarmcars that this mode is spawning as equivalent to the "vanilla map-placed" alarmcars.
3. A warning voice for the alarmcar occurs once every 40 seconds per alarmcar. It's not to the point of calling it spam. If it happens too often, there are too many alarm cars around you.
4. If you keep looking at the alarm car, you will talk about it once every 40 seconds.

Bots will not hesitate to shoot or jump onto alarmed cars placed by this mod and set them off, unlike the vanilla map-placed ones which they will avoid shooting or jumping.
The survivors will also spam voicelines when someone else other than the shooter stands on the car.

Almost entire team gets wiped, all down to 1 health

Right now the mod has a ~33% chance to make an alarmed car, but it would be nice if there was a way to customize it. For instance 20%, 10%, 50%, etc.
