Thanks
I extracted the rfcmp and repackaged it and it was then recognised by the mod manager and installed just fine.
Now I tried moving AIA_Portimao.rfcmp from "....Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\365960\....... to Packages folder.
It didn’t make any difference. I noticed that the AIA_Portimao is a RFCMP-file and the rest of the files in packages folder are RFMOD-files.
I give up for now, but I’ll see if the track shows up in Racedepartment. Then I’ll give it another try. I’d love to drive the track again. It’s really nice.
Is that possible that some other mod causes this issue? (I don't have skinpacks or the other Portimao installed but maybe could be something seemingly unrelated? I'm just guessing at this point...)
Anyway, I will use 1.01 for now.
Thank you for your time!
I'll get time to upload it to RaceDepartment.
I still get this message after installing the 1.01 version first from the rfcmp file and then the new 1.03.
” Check the procedure verifying workshop items you subscribed.”
The track does appear in subscribed items, but it still doesn’t appear (or install) in the game.
Now, I’m no eagle in these matters, so I give up for now.
If the track comes to Racedepartment, I’ll give it another try. It’s a nice track.
Sometimes ago, entering the game, making whay supposily was an update it removed me all original tracks and cars and never returned them. I had to subscribe one by one in the workshop, so I believe happens things very wierd from time to time.
If it happens to others as well I can upload the track to Race Department.
Now the track has disappeared. It’s not even to be found in the location directory in the game anymore. That’s a kind of spooky.
Obrigado pelo teu trabalho!
As usual when you subscribe to a workshop item the download is visible in the bottom of the screen. The place the download goes in the computer is "....Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\365960\........" the folders with the rfcmp files are available. If you search in that folders you will find the files you have downloaded. If the track is there you can move that rfcmp to "Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Packages". You can install it when you get in the game.
I did a complete new meshes in roads and terrain outside, fences, guard rails, etc. I used my stands and buildings from my first track and did some that was missing.
Now that is true that I used his HUT and pit tents and many textures that had been converted to PBR materials. which in my oppinion is quite normal and done in general - is a question of "it's a lost of time to do what is already done" - it's not a rob and using some pieces from a track is common.
I didn't liked the accusation since if someone did a copy of the track was not me, I don't need it, nevertheless and to close the subject I felt I should defend myself from it.
We could have done the track together, with all the new things from me and your new mesh. But its OK, I understand its not your plan.
We need to be very familiar with how some textures are done to use them in PBR. Unfortunetly my knowledge of mr/aos/spl/etc is almost zero. My guess is that, apart of a few persons of the community and the Studio 397 staff, that textures are quite difficult to do, and there are no tutorial or videos to explain. Some other things I couldn't do was the trees moving (that used to be easier to do in earlier versions of the GMT).
The idea was too give the community the best I could do for the moment, maybe I would have a further version with PBR one of these days, if I learn anything.
