update 2.0 - reflections, rain, road groove (marks) updated. Some textures improved and material assignments.

Thanks 快点登陆 I know you are right because I have detected it recently. The explanation to that is the monitor I had before and the graphic engine, I recently changed to a better resolution monitor which alowds a lot of more things and a RTX with better graphics. We can't be all rich to have the best and some of us still struggling with hardware problems. I will make a review in that track to improve the lighting and some little details more.

more accurate than the version made by odb,but road reflextion looks bad, even unplayable, everything is glowing and I can't see the track itself😂,if that can be fixed,I think this track should be the best version of portimao, especially karting tracks are included in this mod😄

Ah maybe you are talking of the williams hud in the video. Sorry I have deleted it already.
LuisB  [author] 3 Aug, 2021 @ 10:02am
Marlon are you in the right place , what HUD?
Marlon 3 Aug, 2021 @ 3:01am
whats the name off the hud?
Arnold J Rimmer 25 Jul, 2021 @ 8:11pm
yep, just resubscribed and it installed no issue.
Thanks
LuisB  [author] 24 Jul, 2021 @ 1:13pm
Arnold you can try again, I have uploaded an update, just maybe it doesn't have any problem. I did subscribed and it worked fine.
Arnold J Rimmer 23 Jul, 2021 @ 5:33pm
seems to be something wrong with the packaging, even using the standalone mod manager this track fails to show up in the list of packages.
I extracted the rfcmp and repackaged it and it was then recognised by the mod manager and installed just fine.
LuisB  [author] 9 Jul, 2021 @ 3:41am
I guess I can't upload it in RaceDepartment the maximum possible is 500 Mhz
Thomas J. Larsen 28 Jun, 2021 @ 8:53am
Hello LousB.
Now I tried moving AIA_Portimao.rfcmp from "....Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\365960\....... to Packages folder.
It didn’t make any difference. I noticed that the AIA_Portimao is a RFCMP-file and the rest of the files in packages folder are RFMOD-files.
I give up for now, but I’ll see if the track shows up in Racedepartment. Then I’ll give it another try. I’d love to drive the track again. It’s really nice.
Gandhi Gaming Ltd. 28 Jun, 2021 @ 8:17am
@LuisB, I can't get it to work sadly, after unsubscribing and installing the rfcmp via packages I still get same unknown base mod error.
Is that possible that some other mod causes this issue? (I don't have skinpacks or the other Portimao installed but maybe could be something seemingly unrelated? I'm just guessing at this point...)
Anyway, I will use 1.01 for now.
Thank you for your time!
LuisB  [author] 28 Jun, 2021 @ 6:25am
z5i6m0nd have you unsubscribed before trying to install it from Packages, eventually that is the problem. It seems a bit odd (rfactor 2 is wierd in some cases) so many installed it with no problems, myself included.
I'll get time to upload it to RaceDepartment.
Gandhi Gaming Ltd. 28 Jun, 2021 @ 4:13am
Hi, I tried to put it in the packages folder and then install it manually ingame in Content -> packages but gave an error message saying that it requires an unknown base mod.
I still get this message after installing the 1.01 version first from the rfcmp file and then the new 1.03.
LuisB  [author] 27 Jun, 2021 @ 9:07am
Ok Thomas did you tried to move the AIA_Portimao.rfcmp to Packages folder? I'm pretty sure if it's there you can manually install it in game content/packages.
Thomas J. Larsen 27 Jun, 2021 @ 8:15am
Hello LuisB.
” Check the procedure verifying workshop items you subscribed.”
The track does appear in subscribed items, but it still doesn’t appear (or install) in the game.
Now, I’m no eagle in these matters, so I give up for now.
If the track comes to Racedepartment, I’ll give it another try. It’s a nice track.
LuisB  [author] 26 Jun, 2021 @ 11:15am
Hi Thomas check the procedure verifying workshop items you subscribed. If the track is there you need to reinstall it as I mentioned in my last post in here. If it's not there let me know.
Sometimes ago, entering the game, making whay supposily was an update it removed me all original tracks and cars and never returned them. I had to subscribe one by one in the workshop, so I believe happens things very wierd from time to time.
If it happens to others as well I can upload the track to Race Department.
Thomas J. Larsen 26 Jun, 2021 @ 7:25am
I installed the track a few days ago. I drove it and had great fun.
Now the track has disappeared. It’s not even to be found in the location directory in the game anymore. That’s a kind of spooky.
DA-DIGGA 24 Jun, 2021 @ 8:18am
@Rui Santos, its OK. I am always open to everything. But he never asked, and I guess he never wanted to. I am pleased that my work is also used on this track. Thanks for the respect to me
Rui Santos 24 Jun, 2021 @ 7:17am
Obrigado pelo comentário, apenas acho que se vocês trabalhassem em conjunto seria benéfico para todos!

Obrigado pelo teu trabalho!
Zarg 20 Jun, 2021 @ 2:02pm
Nice track thanks!!
LuisB  [author] 20 Jun, 2021 @ 1:19pm
Not aware why the track wouldn't appear for you guys.
As usual when you subscribe to a workshop item the download is visible in the bottom of the screen. The place the download goes in the computer is "....Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\365960\........" the folders with the rfcmp files are available. If you search in that folders you will find the files you have downloaded. If the track is there you can move that rfcmp to "Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Packages". You can install it when you get in the game.
albertone1 20 Jun, 2021 @ 2:30am
I don't see this track in game
FCsongoR 19 Jun, 2021 @ 12:26pm
I subscribed, but I don't see this track in game, and not installed in Locations folder
Jon.R 17 Jun, 2021 @ 11:37am
I think you could work together instead of losing energy on issues of egos, bring together the best of both, you are good, do not waste it! And thanks for everything in advance.
LuisB  [author] 15 Jun, 2021 @ 5:03am
LuisB  [author] 15 Jun, 2021 @ 4:50am
MItch9 "very accurate" is my oppinion based on experience of doing hundred of tracks for several SIMS, I learned with "try and error" and recently for a long time the errors are sometimes little details that are not detected while racing.
Mitch9 14 Jun, 2021 @ 6:48pm
ok but what data did you use to make this track to say it´s "very accurate"?
Rui Santos 14 Jun, 2021 @ 1:14pm
Agree with DA-DIGGA, why having 2 tracks when we could have one of excellent quality?
LuisB  [author] 14 Jun, 2021 @ 3:11am
(Continue)
I did a complete new meshes in roads and terrain outside, fences, guard rails, etc. I used my stands and buildings from my first track and did some that was missing.
Now that is true that I used his HUT and pit tents and many textures that had been converted to PBR materials. which in my oppinion is quite normal and done in general - is a question of "it's a lost of time to do what is already done" - it's not a rob and using some pieces from a track is common.
I didn't liked the accusation since if someone did a copy of the track was not me, I don't need it, nevertheless and to close the subject I felt I should defend myself from it.
LuisB  [author] 14 Jun, 2021 @ 3:10am
My reply to DA_DIGGA was a bit confuse I didn't even knowed he was the author of the track from Portimao that was in the workshop and he sure didn't know I was the author of the track (I did for Simbin and further converted for GTR2) that was converted for several sims (SIMBIN never cared about it). The track DA_DIGGA claims was a copy of that track (it's in the comments) and for sure it has no authorization from SIMBIN to do it, which is basically common, from what I saw he basically copied the road meshes and created a outside meshes with the mountains (which is not difficult using google schetchup. The buildings meshes seems to me the same with PBR materials (eventually improved) these because they are wrong sized. He did a great work (helped by Studio 397 in the textures as he comment).
Mitch9 14 Jun, 2021 @ 2:40am
So... what´s the source of this version, that makes it so accurate?
JoeMoore 13 Jun, 2021 @ 2:02pm
you accused him of stealing ,you not surprised hes a bit annoyed .....
DA-DIGGA 12 Jun, 2021 @ 6:14am
Why so angry and why should I be careful? My only concern was that it would be better if there was only one track for the community. Now there are 2 tracks, from you with the new roadmesh and everything new from me. And the Track from me with your old roadmesh where the evaluation is not quite correct.
We could have done the track together, with all the new things from me and your new mesh. But its OK, I understand its not your plan.
LuisB  [author] 12 Jun, 2021 @ 4:31am
Da-Digga I'm not sure what you are talking about because I haven't rob any others work. In 2007 I made Portimao for Simbin and if you refer to the track that was in workshop that was quite a copy of the track I have done and that was converted to GTR2 (I still have that track) nevertheless that was a copy not authorized from Simbin, I can recognize the road and most of the buildings and guess what a lot of textures. I can recognize the errors I did at the time in that track basically in the elevations and corner cambers. I did a new road, new models in general and used my buildings from the first track I did. Like they did before I used some textures - PBR (that were original dds) from the track and some materials to. So if we make a balance who rob who I guess the steal I did is the normal everyone does in everytrack. Be careful with the one you're accusing if you are not sure what you are saying. Enjoy the track.
DA-DIGGA 12 Jun, 2021 @ 1:51am
Perhaps working together would have been better for the community than stealing most from the other Portimao. It's a shame from you for not asking. now it's too late too.
LuisB  [author] 10 Jun, 2021 @ 10:21am
You're right Bastian. In general I didn't used PBR, apart of some items, like the roads, outside grass, and some more. Even so the roads have not the splatter texture (it's a placebo in there).

We need to be very familiar with how some textures are done to use them in PBR. Unfortunetly my knowledge of mr/aos/spl/etc is almost zero. My guess is that, apart of a few persons of the community and the Studio 397 staff, that textures are quite difficult to do, and there are no tutorial or videos to explain. Some other things I couldn't do was the trees moving (that used to be easier to do in earlier versions of the GMT).

The idea was too give the community the best I could do for the moment, maybe I would have a further version with PBR one of these days, if I learn anything.
Bastian Paisler 10 Jun, 2021 @ 8:50am
very nice version with realistic proportions and track geometry. sadly no pbr but otherwise very good track
LuisB  [author] 10 Jun, 2021 @ 4:12am
FlexyDemon 9 Jun, 2021 @ 11:02am
The Portimao kart tracks! :-) Thank you so much.
