Getting error log spam about 'Could not find map mode "title_troops"'. I suspect it might be caused by this mod, as the contained map_modes.txt seems to indeed be missing that one.

What about a mod that does the opposite - I always want to see the landscape, for me it kills immersion to have it filled with color

The new map modes doesn't work at all. Unless I'm missing something there are three that don't work.

Ctrl-S = Economy and Buildings
Ctrl-F = County Control

Are the two that don't work in this list.

Otherwise when you're planning to travel, you can't see your path or the dangers along the road

I just remembered it's possible to turn off mods, so I turned off this mod and tried the ctrl+L hotkey and it results in the same blank map. so what I added in the update should probably fix the issue.

thanks for reporting the issue, I don't own the dlc so I never would have known about it. it looks like they added a few hundred more lines to the map_modes.txt file for the new map modes they added in the dlc, which were all missing from this mod's file. I added them to the mod and that made the ctrl+L hotkey work, but the map looks like the blank one in your screenshot. I'm not sure if that's just because I don't own the dlc, though. I'm going to update the mod with the new lines, let me know if it fixes the problem.

Hey, I love the look this mod brings to the game!

Unfortunately there seems to be a minor visual/functional problem with it now after the court update. (I own the DLC, with this as the sole active mod.)

I tried looking up online if the court language map mode is bugged on its own first, but it seems that it was an issue with the mod.

The court languages view accessed from within court doesn't display ANY languages and the specific map view toggled with the hotkey cntrl + L or from the (+) additional map modes button under "court languages" literally do nothing.

This is amazing. This was the most useful map mode in CK2; and I hate how they handle it in CK3.

yeah, thought it would be simple as well, I remember asking in a dev diary and one of the devs said it should be a simple change, like you said I thought it would be simply telling it to appear at a much earlier zoom level. I am absolutely hopeless with modding so I wouldn't have even known where to start. thank you for trying anyway.

I looked into it and unfortunately I think what you would want is out of my expertise. the way to do it from what I can tell would be to modify the textures from the standard map (which there are a lot of) to look like the paper map, and I just don't have the skills with image editing to do that kind of work. initially I thought it would be a simple text file edit like this mod is, because in the file I modified for this mod there's a parameter that defines the zoom level at which the "flat map" (the term the game uses for the paper map) appears, but it doesn't seem to affect when the paper map comes up for whatever reason.

no problem, thanks for downloading. I doubt it will ever need updating unless they change the way the map colors work somehow, but if it ever stops working leave a comment on here and I'll try to fix it
