Thanks @Ahriman. Keep in mind that I wrote the module with a very early set of DM tools. No NPCs, no dialog, no quests, no merchants.

Great campaign. A bit light in story but it makes up for it with great encounters, really challanging.

Thanks @Acadiantri

Start Path 1 with basic starting gear. There's a chest there to fill out weapons/armor for spellsword mage and elves. Path 1 and Path 2 are linked. After Path 2, you can update your characters. At the start of Path 3, there's a chest with the basic recipes (because characters forget them when updated). But all other gear from Path 1 & 2 will carry over. If you want to switch out a character, you can either give their gear to someone who will continue before you exit Path 2 or use one of the "Gear Up" modules to set them up as an equipped level 4 character. (Or you can bring in an equipped level 4 from a different module.) At the end of Path 4, again, update your characters and carry them into Path 5. Or swap in new equipped level 8 characters.

Quick question if the adventures are all unlinked do our characters go in without any gear or recipes they have unlocked in earlier adventures? I was looking into a character export mod on nexus to work around this possible issue.

Great. Thanks.

Acadiantri,
I am slightly cheating using the universal scroll rule. Only for Identify though. Enjoying your dungeon, thanks!
Acadiantri  [author] 18 Jul, 2021 @ 7:59am
Sir Gladstone.. Double-checked and it turns out a sorcerer can't cast identify from a scroll either. Hopefully, in the next update, TA will give us merchants that can identify items for you or allow items to be already identified when you place them. Til then you're going to need a wizard or the cleric that can cast identify or the third level rogue spellcaster. (Only the wizard gets to cast it ritually, however, so unless there are lots of long rest areas and rations, you're going to need a wizard for now.)

Identify scrolls added to the starting chest.
Acadiantri  [author] 17 Jul, 2021 @ 1:31pm
Merchants aren't really possible yet. But I should add some identify scrolls and will do so.
Sir Gladstone 17 Jul, 2021 @ 12:39pm
@Acadiantri
Is there a merchant in your campaign (don't know if that is possible) or are there identify scrolls lying around? Trying to play this without a wizard.
Acadiantri  [author] 16 Jul, 2021 @ 3:33am
@CracktheSkye7. Thank you. That's exactly what I was hoping to achieve.
Esotericdrip 15 Jul, 2021 @ 5:54pm
Good tactical encounters here. Tough but achievable.
Acadiantri  [author] 15 Jul, 2021 @ 4:11am
@gm.belta Thanks so much for your feedback.

I played the 2 modules and I must say that what I really liked was the quality of the fights. I had a paladin, ranger, cleric and wizard and managed to win every battle by surprising the enemies (when possible). For what concerns the story, the second module was better than the first.
Good job.
Acadiantri  [author] 14 Jul, 2021 @ 3:57am
The module has lore that warns the party to watch out for, describes how to identify, and plainly states the need to prioritize killing the goblin shaman. In the current encounter design, the shaman is alone with two goblin cutthroats and is the first of the three you see. The shaman is not hidden behind other goblins or wolves. With the current encounter setup, most parties should focus fire the shaman down in the surprise round, without ever realizing that is what they have done. But to address your overarching point directly, yes, I do expect parties to play intelligently and to identify and prioritize threats correctly. I also believe that there ought to be consequences for failing to do so. Victory is sweeter if there is some real risk of defeat.
rgtyler1963 13 Jul, 2021 @ 4:16pm
You're assuming the party knows the shaman is there and would know to prioritize it. This being the 1st encounter with a shaman it is most likely to show as an unknown creature and wouldn't be something a party would single out as a target given all the other goblins and wolves between the party and the shaman.
Acadiantri  [author] 13 Jul, 2021 @ 4:09am
@rgtyler1963 On authentic, the goblin shaman has 22 hp. A magic missile from a shock arcanist averages 13, from a non-shock arcanist 10.5. A sneak attack from a 16 dex short-bow-wielding rogue will average 9 hp at second level. A hunter's mark short-bow attack from a 16 dex ranger will average 8. A javelin from a 16 strength fighter or paladin will average 5. You have four attacks in the surprise round, plus whoever goes before the GS in the next round, to kill him. But you should focus all your effort on killing the shaman first. If you do, the GS will die before he can cast a lightning bolt.
Acadiantri  [author] 13 Jul, 2021 @ 3:44am
@rgtyler1963 Thanks for the feedback. I found the fights in your modules too easy, and you found the fights in mine too hard. But that's okay. Neither of us is Tactical Adventures. Neither of us has to design our modules to satisfy the lowest common denominator to maximize our sales. If you want to design modules where the fights are easy, you can do so. And if I want to design modules where the fights are hard, I will. My modules are play-balanced for a point-buy party on authentic setting. The fights are almost all universally harder than CotM. So make sure you start my modules on authentic play difficulty. As for the Goblin Shaman, he will wipe the party but only if you let him. Two ways to prevent that: kill him first or spread the party out. But it's best to kill him before he acts.
rgtyler1963 12 Jul, 2021 @ 3:56pm
Enjoyed the module although some of the fights were a bit much for a set of new characters. Several fights took multiple tries especially the shaman one which can literally wipe the entire party in one shot.
wojorider 11 Jul, 2021 @ 1:38pm
Thanks, i wonder if the devs consider the LB thru rock a bug or a feature???
Acadiantri  [author] 11 Jul, 2021 @ 9:40am
Moved the goblin shaman out from behind the rocks. No one expects a lightning bolt to go right through solid rock, but in CotM, it does. (So does dragon's breath, spirit guardians, and a few other things.)
Acadiantri  [author] 11 Jul, 2021 @ 3:24am
The shaman can lightning bolt through solid terrain. Maybe, Silverquick is right and I need to take them out of the module. Want it tough but not too tough. Thanks for playing and for the feedback.
henrythelesser 10 Jul, 2021 @ 11:01pm
Neat module, but IMO a bit TOO tough on low-level characters. The sheer number of enemies in each wave , even with careful tactics and train-baiting into sleep-ambushes, almost requires a long rest after practically every single room. And, as noted, something about that Goblin Shaman lighting bolting through solid terrain is a bit much. :)
wojorider 10 Jul, 2021 @ 9:00pm
Ok, is it typical that the shaman can lighting bolt thru terrain. Not even sure how he can target the party but he kills one or more character after going thru at least 4 blocks of solid terrain, I mean WTF?
Silverquick 21 Jun, 2021 @ 3:49pm
Thanks man, :)
Acadiantri  [author] 21 Jun, 2021 @ 3:36pm
Hey Silver,
Thanks for giving it a try. Glad you enjoyed it. I took your suggestions to heart, so you should feel some sense of pride for helping me get better.
Silverquick 20 Jun, 2021 @ 4:02pm
Hey there Acadiantri,
This one is a definite improvement over your previous works back during the Beta Toolset.

Its a really well put together little module. Granted you probably shouldn't use that Goblin Shaman as characters are only level 2 when they meet it so it can one shot the whole group with a lightning bolt.

I know how to handle those, but others probably don't and will get one shotted.

But this is a surprisingly well put togather little module with opportunities for some good tactical combat.
