For anyone wondering what the ... in stage six means, it just completely deletes the music entirely. It's kind of really annoying imo and is the reason I'm uninstalling this mod, so I figure people should know about it before they install the mod themselves.

Stage 3 killed my t.keeper run even though I had dead cat since all my hearts were broken. This is more of a repentance bug than your mod's though (it was supposed to be fixed in 1.7.5), but I'd still love special behaviour with (t.)keeper.
Yes, I do use this mod in my runs, it's really cool :reheart:

what do you mean by EID notes being useless? If you are talking about the screenshot, it hasn't been updated in a loooong time, so yeah, the actual in-game EID notes have full info

Also funny challenge idea, your goal is to defeat some Chapter 6 boss, and each chapter gives a new item from this mod. Basement gives Stage 1, Caves give Stage 2, etc.

I mean, this has been suggested multiple times so far, but I really don't want this mod to override the OST, so I might make a separate mod just to replace the OST for those who want it. However, this comes with a severe problem, which is the sheer amount of tracks one would need to edit (even though the actual editing processing is easy). I might actually go through with the idea (alongside updating this mod to include item icons), but it's definitely going to happen later because rn I'm in the middle of exam season. Or, well, I might bite the bullet and contact Frix to ask for permission to use his edits (thanks for notifying me about this existing btw).

How about asking someone to mix the game OST, adding some echo, reverb, crackle and deterioration effects so this mod can be more like EATOT? The idea seems cool

That does sounds like a pretty neat idea, however I feel like this would require rebalancing it a bit, because having no choice for what curses you want seems a little bit too frustrating. Also if we are going full cube of meat/ball of bandages style, then there needs to be a way to make this a guaranteed or at least a more likely drop (perhaps the same kind of shenanigans as Magic Skin), but as I said, that would definitely bring more unfairness to this imo. But yeah, developing the effects over time is a common suggestion and I do agree that it sounds cool as an idea, however I'm not quite sure how it would actually fit into the gameplay and how would it affect the balance. I might make an alternative version of the mod at some point with that idea in mind if people would prefer that.

Hello, I find the concept of this mod quite interesting.
However, I find it a waste that the stages are represented by 6 different items.
Why not instead make a single item that would act like the famous cube of meat (take several times the same item to make the effect evolve)?

It definitely will because it's effect refreshes each floor, just like the curses of the items. Can't really do anything about it except make it refresh even more frequently but that might cause some performance issues.

ok, yeah, no. You can't really add separate tracks, so the only option for this kind of thing is to either:
A) Use multiple layers per level for each separate item and turn off the level music (this would be insanely tedious to make and I'm not really sure how many layers a level can support, but I imagine there has to be some sort of a limit)
B) Completely change all level tracks (this sounds more reasonable, but it's not related to the item effects at all, and this would probably require a separate mod if people don't want to play with music from the album)
Honestly, pretty much the only thing you can do with music tools are: change pitch/volume, change track from a defined list, stop/pause/resume, change layers. That's basically it. I would definitely expand on music shenanigans if I could, trust me.

I could probably do that, but I'm not sure as to how music layers work and if it is possible to add completely new tracks that play separately from the level tracks, the music modding tools are not great ngl

could you make the most recognisable pieces of music from each stage play when you pick up the items. for example stage 6 is cool but the silence get tiring after a while rather than spooky, so it would be cool if some looped crackling played or something alone the line of that, other than that you're doing a great job :steamthumbsup:

alright, I figured out why the hell do the items not work on esau (apparently it's all of them, not just Stage 6), and the answer is simple - because of how j&e are coded, aka jacob being a normal character and esau being a coop character. Sadly, there is very little information regarding modding coop characters right now (the modding api has not been of much help), so I'm afraid I genuinely have no idea how to fix this issue and have to leave it in until I actually figure out how to apply effects to multiple players

From a design standpoint these are very nice. I especially like stage 6. And here's a request: I'm not sure if it's easy but the names of the painting actually have names so if you could name the objects the painting names that would be great!

maybe make the enemies weaker? Idk I'm not a mod designer. I do like how this mod is balanced. I could honestly see this belonging in the game unlike coloboma (tears split into 3 when they get far enough from you) and tetrachromacy (tears down but you shoot tears in all 8 directions)

great mod but if i could suggest something, maybe have it so that there's a chance for when you re enter a room, that enemies respawn. and at stage 5 or stage 6 the chance is 100%

Well, this was more intended as a joke mod, however most of the curses aren't really all that big of a deal once you get used to them (except Curse of the Blind and Curse of Unknown).

Nice mod, been always a big fan of the Caretaker's works! Although, 9/10 for me because stage 6's description is NOT without description, missed opportunity >:C
Other than that, epic mod. Id play it with vanilla Isaac. Would love to see it as a progression item somehow but im not sure how balances would work for that
