installing this turned all my uraniuim patches previously found with the ground-penetrating scanner into "steel castle L connector" patches. so weird... :/

@Kyrah There's a mod that changes a bunch of things with Castle Walls, including the time it take to open the door, which may encourage your pawns to use it.

Otherwise, just finish the wall so that it is no longer faster to walk around it.

Is there a way to let pawns actually use the castle gate as a door? Mine just... walk around the unfinished wall instead

There's a mod that reduces the building cost by 75%.

Anyway, it's obviously not going to be a 1-1 increase from material usage to strength, even with the sub-mod that make a building take only a quarter of its original material.

A 1x2 wall piece that take 25 granite blocks (With the 75% off) has 2040 HP. That's 81.6 HP per block. A 2x2 wall take 50 blocks, but has the same HP, so it's 40.8 HP per block, for less work needed to build.
A 1x1 granite wall? 510 HP for 5 block, or 102 HP per block. However, a 1x2 wall will only have 1020 HP, or only half of the castle wall of the same material.

The cost/protection is way off. for ex. a uranium tower piece is 3000hp, $1240 wealth, 200 material cost in a 2x2 area or 750hp, $310, 50 material worth per 1x1 square. compared to vanilla uranium wall of 625hp, $31, 5 material per 1x1 square. to get a 20% increase in defense you're paying a 1000% increase in material and wealth.

Not 100% sure if it's this mod, but for these castle walls specifically, disallowing the gate doesn't stop your pawns from travelling through it. I can't seem to stop my guys from going out the gate and into danger. :c

just tested something with it and oddly enough the issue seems to be the other walls connecting to it blocking it somehow, my tower was an I connector and the moment I removed the walls on each side it started to shoot. Put the walls back, stops shooting.

Got a similar problem as OldPayphone, right now I have one defense tower and it was working great but now suddenly it won't shoot no matter what. It has 'fuel' and enemies are in range...hell they're trying to destroy it.

Not all defense towers will shoot for some reason. I have 6 in a line but only 2 will shoot. Yes the enemies are in range but won't shoot.

Does anyone know how to get the security towers to actually shoot in their firing range? I love the look of the mod, but the towers have never worked properly for me. I am lucky if they fire at stuff directly north of south, but it will never do both.

Was having the towers only firing in 180 degree angle, realized issue is that the 'turret' is technically only in one of the 4 squares the tower occupies. Can fix the issue by changing the Fill Percent of the defensive tower to 95%, as the default 100% means the 'turret' can't shoot through itself. Side effect is that the towers are no longer total cover.

Yup having the same very annoying problem. They seem to shoot randomly and the firing arc is 100% not reflective of the true firing arc. So you have to trial and error it. Very annoying as a bunch of attackers walk up to my wall and just slap it down without me being able to do anything but walk out and beat them or break down the very expensive and time consuming walls to try and build them over again or just use embrasure walls.

Hey man, thanks for the mod. I'm playing with Medieval Overhaul and Rimedieval so I have basic components but no normal components available. I don't need those to build your walls but my Gate broke down now and I can't fix it without components.

I could make patch I think if you could steer me in the direction of where to find the recipe it uses to repair the breakdown.

Hello! This is awesome! How come it needs to have doors expanded, doors expanded is not compatible with rimthreaded (shrug???). I still have to use it more to decide if it's good because while it gives great tps and compatibility now, it doesn't seem to load games right.
Anyway could it work without doors expanded?
