@Ifairban , Others have had similar problems, I've playtested it a couple of dozen times and the turret survived every time on my pc, A very strange problem indeed. Thanks for playing though :)

That was a little bit different. Had a bit of trouble transporting the turret past the lasers, I kept knocking it over with the funnel.

Hi jandlml, The bridge was never meant to usable, It is not needed to solve the puzzle:) Tom K solves everything the intended way in the end of his video, but using the bridge was an exploit. I cant really think of a hint that doesnt give away the solution though, sorry

i am stuck tryingto get the cube into the room behind the grate. in the walkthrough the person used the bridge but in the version i have you cant get the bridge .

Thanks for playing Viaray. I made a sequal, I posted a link for Jazz. Its a bit harder than this one though:) I have ideas to push the concept further, but not a lot of time to plan, build and test new maps, or even update existing ones, but I do plan to come back to this eventually:)

great concept and well executed. makes for a very fun and unique chamber. it'd be great to see more done with it, but of course a longer chamber would really require some way to avoid too much backtracking. perhaps having additional turret distribution buttons periodically either requiring the destruction of the previous turret (if possible) to avoid overcrowding or if it's possible to copy the scripting used during the turret sabotage section of the campaign make it require placing the previous turret in a scanner to activate the next. all dependant on what Hammer and your knowledge of scripting would allow I'd assume and of course on free time. most important point though: this map is lots of fun

Very nice test chamber ! The task with turret is little bit repetitive (exept the coridor with vertical lasers...great !) but it's was fun anyway. Big thumb's up

Hey Jazz! Suicide is not the answer:) F6 will save your game then press F7 to restart from the save. Although If you did want to die I gave you turret:) The turret will explode when you spawn a new one, so even if he deactivates you can still use him as a bomb Thanks for playing, If you liked this map you should check out my new test:

I think it is an Excellent concept. But it took too many tries, a lot of them because the turret simply shut itself down in the tractor beam. F6 didn't help because there was no way to die so that it restarts at the save instead of having to restart the level. If you could add a way of dieing so that the player does not have to restart from the beginning over and over, it would be great. Still Thumbs Up!

Hey!! Loved the idea you had. Very nice map, I liked it a lot. I'm not sure if I passed the turret around the 2 fizzlers correctly ;) First I didn't even see you can take the light bridge. Pretty tricky in the end there, it made me stuck a while!

Hi Brave, yeah I kinda knew when designing it would be an F6 heavy map, so added the second button to help out a bit. If I make a sequal I'll try and make him more friendly:) Thanks for playing, just added Strider to my list

I was going through my trekker map list to se who played my map so I can reciprocate by visiting their workshop and playing 1 of their maps, only to my surprised I came here and read your description Traveler807 before playing! I never knew 1 of my maps inspired you to make this 1!
I did make another map before Trekker called Strider that has a similar concept if you're interested but is also challenging.
On to this map, played and finished it. Saves and loads were my best friends even though the turret was needed too, but he is to damn mean killing me instead of doing his job... lol
Not a bad map, with some cool puzzle ideas like the conveying of the turret in the tractor beam and pressing the pedestal button to redeploy him... thumbs up!

re-tested:
much better.
1st time , the turret funeled out from lasers dead.
but no problem, as used it as a bomb :)
2nd attempt, it survived :)
no other problems with my companion.
did you know, you can pass him into a portal,
that comes out of a portable area, with grating over it ? (same as a cube)
1 small thing, is in the fizzler area, with the light bridge & 2 fizzlers.
it is a bit cramped, with the turret.
between the brocken glass & the 1st fizzler.
maybe a 2 tile gap would help.
your map, your choice of course.
unless you want that difficulty ?

this time I found out what the 2nd button does.
did not use it before, but good idea.

If that is possible its very advanced stuff:) I just updated and disabled the auto destruct on death, but should explode when the player pushes the button to spawn a new one. hopefully this will fix at least some of the problems

that makes more sense now.
passing through the glass, I might have caught the turret on the frame & turned it.
I know it turned, while on light bridge, while hitting light bridge, as I moved it.
I suspect funeling through laser field, it caught side & turned.
due to my bad alignment.
can you do it so tipping does not work, while being held by portal gun or
in a funel.
but still explodes while in funel, if laser hits it ?

Thanks for re-testing The turrets are set to explode when tipped over, to keep the level clear of dead turrets, explosions can also break the glass too. Looks like there are some glitches in the system that make them explode spontaiously. I'll do some reaseach into alternative turret body disposal methods:) Will put a warning in the description about possible glitchs, its just annoying they didnt show up when I was playtesting. re-tested:
perhaps an internet, internet provider or server problem ?
maybe the map download was corrupted ?
had same problem, but worked 6th time.
but while crossing the fizzlers, on the light bridge, it exploded once.
yes, while I carried it, it exploded, not fizzled.
it also exploded, while I carried it through the broken glass, between 1st & 2nd chamber, once.
I went through there many times, without a problem.
fizzler & cube puzzle good.
turret concept good.
great to see new ideas, in action :)
ps. thankyou for your feedback, explaining I was doing the intended solution.

Mood3rd, yes that is the intended way, sorry to hear its not working properly, I just played that section 4 times in a row, trying to recreate what you described but it always seem to work fine for me:). Maybe your just the victim of a random game glitch. Thanks for playing anyway.

cool introduction to my new companion :)
I am having problems with the lasers:
I funel the turet through the laser field & stand on the button that turns off the 1st laser.
but when the turret reaches the 1st laser, which is off, it still explodes.
I repeated this & it still explodes, even though the laser is off ?
is it a glitch or is there another solution, I need to look for ?

Wow Andi! very nicely done, I checked and the turret is deffinitly set to not allow shooting through portals. But somehow he still manages to do it, crafty little guy:) Its quite fun so I'll leave it in for the moment. Glad you liked it, thanks for playing

Excellent chamber, it had me thinking for awhile. I didn't use the lasers and the buttons. I set the turret at an angle and shot a portal closest to it and put the other portal close to the glass so the turret would shoot it. Then I hit the button and brought it through.

I loved this chamber, great job, thumbs up.

Excellent map! I really liked the bridge(s) moves. To put the cube in that room took a little bit; nice move too . A great idea using the turret to open the 'doors'. Great map design! Thumbs up!

Thanks Prototype, I can see what you mean. You tried to do pretty much everything in an unintended way. the glass I used is set not to break on physics collisions, only bullets or explosions. I didnt think that fizzler would cause so much trouble, just holding it over my head and jumping worked for me. The laserfield room you broke, but came very close to what I intended. Place the turret between the two glass corners, then run in front of it back and forth till the glass breaks, you'll take damage but not enough to kill you Thanks for playing, I try to think of ways to improve it.

My blindrun Maybe it's just me, but I didn't enjoy it as much. Cool concept, but walking back to the start got boring. There was probably something to do with the glass corners but I couldn't seem to work it out... One of those things that's neat the first time but when repeated gets annoying. Anyway, just my opinion.

Ingenious, cool and creative. Not hard. Balanced difficulty. I love it. You must make "A new Companion" serie xD.
