Of course it doesnt work because M4 buttstock stay at your adapter as the proxy. But the recoilmodifier of your tool will work for sure if you have this parameter in the config. So, your adapter will change recoil even without M4 buttstock. A little bit not realistic but no another way to make it work.

yeah really simple to do - the real question though is if the recoilmodifier of the m4 buttstock has an effect on the weapon. I have not yet tested that

Yes, proxy for Ak buttstock and proxy of M4 buttstock on this tool is good idea. I already thought do the same before. Nice work!
