That information is in the startpos but I don't know where. Farms are level 1-5, with 5 bring the most fertile.

Thanks for your help. I'm able to change it to 4 turn per year now.
If I want to change the farm type for example from average to fertile, which one do have to edit?

It might be 12 turns per year. To make it 4 turns per year you'd need to edit the startpos with Pack File Manager.

Thank you for the creation of this mod. I was looking for a map mod comparible to FotS regions. While you have a couple of other mods that expand the regions of Japan all the way up to 97 extra regions, I find that this one is alot more "vanilla+" Bringing a bit more life in places such as the small Islands and the northern part of Japan. And the turns don't take too long aswell compared to the larger sized mods.

Ok, thanks for responding. We are trying to see if it works, but so far no luck. I guess it is broken then. Still amazing mod otherwise. Brings much better diplomatic landscape to the game!

So I've a question about the mod: is Satake clan accuracy bonus only applied in battle? I can't seem to see ANY difference in stats of their ranged units or in their battle performance. Is it bugged or is it just my game misbehaving

Regarding @Sapiens Ursus question, I found out where to edit the turns. But records tab still says that events took place on certain months. Could you point me where to edit this aswell?

The startpos controls which factions are playable, so it won't be possible for this mod to be compatible with that mod. Unless you edit the startpos in this mod to change the starting positions of these factions you won't be able to play as Portugal.

Hey bro, Love your mod. I'm currently playing your latest one with 97 new regions. I'm in the process of making my own mod and wanted to make it compatible with yours with a few changes. Is it possible to get the raw files especially of DAVE startpos tables so I can modify them because manually editing the ESF file would take me years. I can't make it out. Sent you a friend request. Here are some guide regarding how to do various things using the pack file manager:

Chance the number of turns per year
To increase the number of turns you need to edit the campaign_calindar in the startpos. Change the 4 to 12 to have 12 turns per year.

You can move the trade nodes by putting them somewhere else and editing the sea trade routes. However this involves editing the map files; which makes it too difficult for most people.

May I ask, just how hard it could be to move the trade nodes locations on the campaign map? I am asking because I haven't seen any mod that does that and I find that very odd.

@uanime5 Thank you for fixing those issues so fast! Due to all your contributions I consider you one of fathers of Shogun 2 modding so it is an honor and a privilege to still have you giving love to this awesome game. It was reading your modding guides that I learned much of what I know about Total War modding. I will try to add just the settlements and ports to those two missing islands and see if that is enough for my needs, since those islands are just starting points for the playable expeditions that I intent to add.

Unfortunately I can't change the map as I no longer have the map files. Basically I added more regions to them so now all I have are the files will all 97 new regions. It would probably be faster to start with the vanilla files and update them; though I don't know if I would have the time for that at the moment. This is also why I can't update the other map mods, since I have even fewer files.

As long as you give me credit you can use these map mods in any other mod.

The problem in Hokkaido sounds like a conflict between the Regions and Startpos files. That shouldn't be too hard to fix.

Do Miyagi or Mimasaka have iron?

This particular version of Expanded Japan is perfect for COOP play since you get great variety of new starting positions without making the campaign that much longer compared to Vanilla. I plan on doing a submod for this adding "Trading Expeditions" from China, Korea, Jurchen, Annam, the Indonesian Sultanate and the Ainu controlling the trade nodes and their respective islands of Tsushima (Korea), Goto (China), Tanegashima (Annam), Oki Island (Jurchen), Oshima (Ainu) and then run out of islands for the Indonesian Sultanate delegation. Will add them somewhere on a bigger island maybe. I hope you can give this one last update =)

I can confirm the bug that Hound of Culann found. The Iron Trade node is not present in the north and the ships at the Oshima port clip into the cliff. You fixed both those issues in your "Expanded Japan (97 new regions)" version of this mod.
Additionally if you ever fix that please consider adding the Oki islands (owned by Amago) and Tanegashima islands (owned by Tanegashima) since this version of the mod only adds Tsushima islands and Goto Islands. Then this version would be just perfect too and basically DONE! ;)

Nobody seems to have iron in my first game with this mod. The northern trade node is not there and the clan that inhabits Hokkaido doesn't have any resources, instead they have an empty building slot that nothing can be built into. I checked by conquering the island.

This is the newest version. I wrote the 1st line years ago when I wasn't planning on doing any updates. Recently I made more factions playable, which was the only change I made in several years.

There's a bug whereby the Ottomo's starting monk starts off in the ocean and can't be disbanded. They're also described as bonuses to bows in the faction select screen.

Doubling the size of the map requires huge amounts of modding, reducing the unit size can be done by changing the unit size to 'small' in the main menu.
