Oddly enough, this fucks with France's government reforms, making a bunch of them unavailable. Unknown if other countries have this too.

Can you update this mod because some monuments and government reforms disappear with this mod? Also can you make this compatible with Missions Expanded or Great Monuments Expanded since the monuments they add disappear with this mod?

Another suggestion would be to do something with 'the horses of Saint Mark'. Either a monument you could move around or an event. (They are statues Venice stole during the fourth crusade).

also the mission for achieving the third tier on the colosseum doesn't seem to work, I can't complete it.

I have some suggestions, in the mod 'third odyssy: back to the motherland' cultures changes automatic depending on the landscape. like roman provinces at the coast have a separate culture than those midland. What if you sort of implemented this? For instance, Roman cultured provinces in the france region also change to Franco-Romance. Or Roman culture in other regions like Germany will change to Germano-Romance (or something) [but these would only work for roman culture].

Constantipel also had famous walls, the Theodosian walls, it could act as some wonder that give some defensive buffs like malta has

Special mercenaries 'the varangian guard' with some special buffs or something could be cool but expensive.

Idk if it's something you thought about or not but there are monuments that are unusable after assimilation like Versaille. It only works with a french culture group and not franco-roman.

What a great mod. It adds most of the things I do manually in my Roman Empire attemps as features. Very happy about the culture spreading and making the Empire less of an late game expierience. Pls let me know if you want a german version too. I am doing one for myself eitherway :D

could you adapt a version of this for the 1356 mod? when I try to use them together the new cultures get replaced with "no culture" and the game gets unstable.

For what it's worth, the mods work fine together at the moment - it's just that the Roman culture group gives no bonus. Mind you, the word 'at the moment' is very much germane, and I'm disinclined to tinker with it for risk of breaking it. It is, at most, a minor inconvenience.

@dbilleldridge Assimilation bonuses are specific to government reforms, so I don't think it would be compatible with the mod you are using

Can confirm that a) the mod *does* work with the Origins DLC and Songhai update but b) the Colosseum doesn't spawn and if you attempt to complete 'Romanize the Provinces' it will crash the game.
Side bar: as someone who plays with mods that let me use the Diwan reform as countries other than the Mughals, I would appreciate a possible bonus for the Roman culture group, since I give up the bonuses from their respective culture groups in so doing. But, it's not exactly high on my priority list, unlike the mission crash and lack of the Colosseum.

So I was unable to complete the "Restore the Colosseum" mission. I looked into the files and you need to add an OR={ before the two IF statements. Otherwise the game is looking for both to be true which breaks the mission.

This mod all of a sudden doesn't work for me. i can click on it to activate the mod but it doesn't change the version code and the mod doesn't activate. I have unsubed and resubed to try to fix it but it hasn't. Any suggestions?

So the event that changes the culture to roman is firing every day but doesn't always have a valid province target so does nothing. Don't know what's causing it to fire evey day, but looking at the event file it seems there isn't a check for Roman culture so I think it's targeting provinces that are already Roman and so it doesn't do anything. Also the event changes Iberian and French cultures to No Culture; either because there isn't that culture already and so can't change it or there's a conflict with the culture mod i'm running.

Could you by any chance maybe delete the coloseum (or make a version without it), so when you play with the expanded monuments mod (which adds the coloseum) you dont end up with 2 which is kind of wierd. Otherwise I really like this mod :)

I decided not to change the ideas, since I felt they were already pretty decent and because of the government reforms I made. If I improved the ideas it would probably become too OP

Those are just the base Roman ideas. You seem to be ignoring the 20% core creation cost reduction, plus the discipline, diplo rep, etc.

Did you change the ideas? Because the base ideas lack a bit of flavor i think, I mean +10% tax, -1 unrest or even 20% stab cost seem a bit meh for this nation

The missions are there, but two aren't working properly. The mission "Dalmatia and Pannonia" can't be completed because it says "30 owned provinces (currently zero) with: have a core in Any/All." so it's missing areas to control. The other is Landing in Britannia, because you need to own and control 15 provinces in two states that only add up to 9. Besides that, the missions are pretty good.

Also, not to nitpick or anything, but the resettle missions don't go away after completing them, meaning you can still spend diplo on them for nothing. Not exactly a required fix by any means, but it's there if you deem it worthwhile.

So I didn't get the new missions when I tried this. No other mods installed, all DLC, formed as Byzantium (used console commands to get everything so I could double check the mod would work beforehand). Decision didn't say anything about getting new missions either.
