Easy fix. Remove user_dir="Sound" in the sound.mod.mod file!

Your save is still there i guess. The problem is that with new updates the mod creates a new folder 📁 to save your game. Check my documents system folder for it. You may find it

sorry bro

Mod seems broken. Unable to save. Definitely appreciated the improvements, though. Just rather have my 15 hours back even more. lol

I love this mod and I was using this for years.. It was working decently with HIP. But now I tested a 1333 Hundred years start date which I never play, now game plays fine but when I quit and try to load that save after some time, game just crashes. Saves are not working. When I try the same thing without this mod, saves load fine and I can continue. Damn shame I love this mod but I guess I have to deactivate when I'm doing the later start dates. Or is there any fix to that?

Can you fix the save game folder thing this mod does sometimes? I really see no reason for it.
DonJulan 25 Jul, 2019 @ 3:20am
Firstly - great mod! Secondly - for all those being annoyed factions sound is missing: it doesn't. Actually its corrupted. Inside mod archive find "factions_view.wav" and delete it. This way you are gonna have vanilla factions sound instead of none. :steamhappy:
Archemyre 13 Jul, 2019 @ 8:35pm
@anarch cassius: That's because this mod changes what save folder the game uses for whatever reason. You can just find your old saves and copy them to the new folder, it works just fine.
maren 20 May, 2019 @ 11:47am
Love this mod so much - no more annoying event sounds. :-) Thanks for making it.
Diamant Picaks 8 May, 2019 @ 7:39pm
Does this work with HIP?
Anarch Cassius 17 Apr, 2019 @ 2:33pm
I put this in and suddenly I could only load an obsolete version of my ironman game. Took it out and current one is fine.

I know I probably don't need to play on Ironman with mods but it just feels like the right way to play.

Anyone else get anything weird with old saves when trying to use this?

Thank you

thank you

At first,I didn't distinguish a lot, but after I check back to vanilla after hours of play though, I really can't sustain with original sounds!
my favorite change probably will be army_move sound (really make the war sound grander) and character_event sound (the original one is too annoying once it densely appears)
This mod alters a little place but really overhaul the whole game's mood.
great work!
MightNight 27 Feb, 2019 @ 8:42pm
Is the factions tab ever going to get a sound effect? :O
Dorimi 王狼  [author] 7 Feb, 2019 @ 3:56pm

Ilija 28 Nov, 2018 @ 9:09am
yes, it is
HowlingBeast 21 Nov, 2018 @ 9:38am
So is it ?
Phoenix 15 Nov, 2018 @ 3:08am
Compatible with v3.0?
Ilija 27 Sep, 2018 @ 10:06am
Probably the best quality of life mod for CK2 out there. Thank you for your service.
nuclearkittyfarts 8 Apr, 2018 @ 4:29pm
AMAZING

For me battle volume is extremely loud, way over everything else. I lower my PC volume by half every time I'm entering a battle. Ever encountered anything like this?
Dorimi 王狼  [author] 11 Apr, 2017 @ 9:19am
Should work. It's just a sound mod.
Riekopo 22 Mar, 2017 @ 2:23pm
Does this still work?
Voryn Dagoth Ur 2 Feb, 2017 @ 8:25am
cant click the tick
Talezteller 12 Jan, 2017 @ 4:47am
ironman-compatible?
Varainger 18 Oct, 2016 @ 5:50am
..the only annoying aspect is the seperate and completely superfluous 'Sound' folder in Documents. I was wondering were my save files are and didn't think you would have created
user_dir for this mod.BUT apart from that these are really nice sound files you got there.
Varainger 16 Oct, 2016 @ 9:35am
Still seems to work now on 2.6.2.
Marvelous..... and wonderful sound files.
Gilgamesh 1 Aug, 2016 @ 1:12am
@Gordon Freeman yeah that's not right, there are mods which are ironman compatible. Those that don't changet the checksum ergo are purely cosmetic and have no effect on gameplay should be ironman compatible.
MINOS 26 Jun, 2016 @ 5:17am
Have subscribed, but doesnt work.
Nothing gets downloaded into the Mod Folder, too.
Alphathon 10 Jun, 2016 @ 10:38am
@Gordon Freeman That's not true. It depends on what is modified as only some things change the checksum. For example, there are a few mods which change the graphics used to render state/vassal/sea borders and they are ironman compatible. Basically most things which don't change gameplay in any way are compatible, so if this only replaces the audio files I would think it probably is. If it changes the conditions under which the audio is triggered then it might not be. (However, it is possible to add music tracks and change the conditions under which they play while leaving the checksum intact - I've done it myself - so even that might be possible.)
Fangvyr 22 May, 2016 @ 4:41pm
This mod is really good. I use it with another that removes baby cries, and now the sound feels perfect.
Treeman 14 May, 2016 @ 1:41pm
No mod is Iron man compatible; if you tick something in the mod section, it is automatically disabled.
VexTary 19 Mar, 2016 @ 11:08am
Is this IronMan Compatible?
jpinard 31 Jan, 2016 @ 5:10pm
You so fantastic work Dorimi. Thanks!
Ghaladh 24 Jan, 2016 @ 12:33pm
Many sound effects replaced by this mod are delightful, however I find extremely annoying the army battle-cry every time I give them a direction; especially while chasing a running army I keep hearing it every few seconds. On top of that, the sound that I dislike the most from the vanilla game (the baby cry on every birth) remained untouched. Bottom line: great mod, but not what I need. Good job anyway! :)

@Bill Cipher It's just your opinion. If you don't want to donate then don't.

>PETA donation

Why would I help an organization that kidnaps and euthanizes animals?
greatorder 7 Nov, 2015 @ 11:11am
@Xenocrates Yep. Do your research for the love of all things.
Xenocrates 1 Oct, 2015 @ 7:34pm
Love the mod. On that note; please do your research on PETA before donating. This isn't a forum so that's all I'm going to say. Keep up the good work
Admiral ivan 30 Jul, 2015 @ 5:50pm
update plz?
Jaime Neto 16 Jul, 2015 @ 5:31am
I'm not able to download it from steam, do you guys gave any other way for me to download it?
Red Dragon 17 Jun, 2015 @ 11:25am
By the way I got a 1kb sound file for the "factions" tab and if I try to open that file in the mods folder it's the only one that gives me an error when trying to play it (also makes no sound in the game itself). Is that intended, an oversight, or did my download somehow get corrupted??
Dorimi 王狼  [author] 17 Jun, 2015 @ 2:44am
glad you enjoyed it
Red Dragon 16 Jun, 2015 @ 8:17pm
Holy shit you cannot play CK II without this mod if you had it once. Amazing work dude, seriously makes the game a lot more pleasant to play.
Dorimi 王狼  [author] 9 Apr, 2015 @ 12:28pm
thank you
Nikiforos V Fokas 9 Apr, 2015 @ 10:23am
After all this time (1200+ hours) in CK2, this is now the only mod I use. If there were optional religious soundbite files for the religious overview screen one could apply per game, it'd be perfect. Thanks again for the mod. o7
Love your mods! However it would be helpful if you had even a bullet point list describing what this does (what sounds are changed/added)

Thanks!
Šumnik 28 Jan, 2015 @ 6:24am
Wow people, just subscribe, open the game, close the launcher, go to Documents > Paradox Interactive > mod and the soundmod is there, check out the sounds. If you don't like it unsubscribe
