Constantine III is of no relation to the Constantine described in Geoffrey's account and he has no link to the legend of King Arthur.[citation needed] Geoffrey's Constantine is the brother of Aldroenus, both of whom were the descendants of Conan Meriadoc. It is Geoffrey's Constantine who, through his son Uther Pendragon, becomes the grandfather of the legendary King Arthur.
thomasmdaywalt 13 Oct, 2021 @ 12:20pm
according to legend

Constantine III is also known as Constantine II of Britain. He is often confused with the Constantine found in Geoffrey of Monmouth's highly popular and imaginative Historia Regum Britanniae, who comes to power following Gracianus Municeps' reign. In Geoffrey's account, the Britons ask Aldroenus [fr], the ruler of Armorica, to be their ruler after the Roman withdrawal, seeking a king who can defend them against the barbarians. Aldroenus refuses, believing the country to have diminished, but sends his brother Constantine to rule instead. Constantine becomes king and has three sons, Constans, Aurelius and Uther, but is stabbed to death by a Pict.[26]

So ranged feel very underpowered due to the sizes of the units - any thoughts?

I have been thinking of redoing this mod on the last roman campaign map. I will want to know your opinions. Thanks.

Ato Boldon: After finishing all chapter i will think in new specific addons like that one.
Ato Boldon 7 Sep, 2021 @ 1:46am
It would be nice if you're able to implement named legions for all rome era chapters :D
SnowBlind 22 Aug, 2021 @ 10:08am
These Rome Era mods are amazing !!
Carniez 11 Aug, 2021 @ 2:17pm
Awesome :) BTW I managed to do my role play anyway. I played chapter 9 but edited my save game with the save parser. I successfully migrated into Gaul and took on the Vandals, Alans and Suebi. Due to game mechanics, Rome fell anyway to rebels. lol. But at least the germanic threat was reduced!
XxRedHornetxX/Resonare Romanorum  [author] 11 Aug, 2021 @ 1:34pm
Carniez: yeah, aurelians is the next one.
Carniez 11 Aug, 2021 @ 8:04am
Yah that makes sense. Since you are rapidly putting out new scenarios from Rome's perspective, there is not much time to think about balance. lol . I just like to role play and think about possible alternate histories. That scenario does seem somewhat likely. Was Alaric just King of the Western Goths or was he a Roman General trying to work within the system and get his men paid? Maybe both? Really enjoying these mods as they are now. The Tetrarchy one is interesting. Can't wiat to see if you do one for Aurelian's reconquests :)
XxRedHornetxX/Resonare Romanorum  [author] 10 Aug, 2021 @ 10:46am
Carniez: The great schism was after this camaping yes, but that was more a official church separation, in this period they were already two important chistianities. So if i have understan it propertly, it was impossible for you to make peace with rome as visigoths? Could be yes, these mods are focused on the roman point of view and the applied diplomatic changes have been made to avoid all babaric factions to declare war in you, and to accept godd relations and peace with you( as rome), trying to reproduce a more realistic and histical accurate context. In other words, small factions should respect more big factions.
Carniez 9 Aug, 2021 @ 3:05pm
A couple things to mention from my first campaign for this scenario in particular. 1) Should Greek Christianity and Latin Christianity be separate yet? I thought the great Schism was much later. To keep the same cultural buildings, would it be possible to remove the diplomatic penalty and have the two still have a cultural affinity? 2) I tried to role play playing as Alaric. I witness a good deed committed by some Roman official and decide Rome is worth defending... But try as I might, there was nothing I could do to make peace. I offered to join the war with them against all of their allies and give them all of my money. nope. Not only could I not make peace, I also could not avoid a battle. So I'm guessing it would be just as hard from the other perspective. Perhaps the "Romanized" Germanic people should not hate Rome quite so much and vice versa? hehe
Carniez 9 Aug, 2021 @ 2:55pm
I'm just recently discovering these gems :) This one for example allows you to play as Romano Britain. pretty cool :) This is also a great replacement for the vanilla campaign!
Wanis 14 Jul, 2021 @ 7:15am
Nice work again dude! :westernromanempire::easternromanempire:! People should use your mods to learn history hahaha
XxRedHornetxX/Resonare Romanorum  [author] 11 Jul, 2021 @ 3:15am
The main idea is to make one about majorian and then about belisarius( this last one will be just campaign, battle mechanics, and reskin mod, the startpos will be the last roman campaign DlC with small variations)

After thes two i will start uploading all the chapters previous to the 4th century.
alexgan.60 10 Jul, 2021 @ 11:58am
you should to do a mod in 476 with syagrius ?
Rundr🐉 10 Jul, 2021 @ 8:22am
Majorian sounds very interesting. I was just thinking 476 or more likely some years prior as i love these impossible challenges where u rly need to fight well manually in battles to defend. Prob some years prior to that tho with Nepos as empreror. Also Nepos 476 in Dalmatia but thats basicly an pain in the ass campaign so Majorian sounds better to me :wowspurr:
XxRedHornetxX/Resonare Romanorum  [author] 10 Jul, 2021 @ 3:30am
Rundr: The next chapter will take place at 457, in order to represent Majorian`s reconquers. Nevertheless, you already have one about aetius (chapter X). But 476 seems not interesting for me, cause occident would not exist and there was not any important event in the eastern roman empire.
Rundr🐉 9 Jul, 2021 @ 3:54pm
great, What about a 476 AD start?
XxRedHornetxX/Resonare Romanorum  [author] 8 Jul, 2021 @ 1:41pm
Ok thanks, i just played 5 turns with WERE.
alexgan.60 8 Jul, 2021 @ 12:17pm
i just loose a game with roman western...too hard (in very hard difficult mod), i was submerjed.
and the barbarian (suev) are installed in hyspany, so i think it's ok.
the hordes moove in all the gaul and hyspani during all my game, no pb for this
XxRedHornetxX/Resonare Romanorum  [author] 8 Jul, 2021 @ 11:53am
alexgan.60 & hartwellp: Thanks bros! Just one question, do you think that i should move some barbarians startpos nearer to Hispania to force them to settle there even if that didn't happen until 409? Or do you prefer the actual more historically accurate startpos even if they end settled in Gaul, that at the end is not historical.

Btw alexgan.60: Yes you are right and is a good dynamic, i was thinking to introduce it in the next chapter( majorian`s), but perhpas should be also added here, i will think about it. Thanks!
Cararctacus 8 Jul, 2021 @ 10:34am
Keep up the good work man
alexgan.60 8 Jul, 2021 @ 9:55am
but it's a very good mod, very near to the reality (i think) and very big job for the skin !
tank you,
alexgan.60 8 Jul, 2021 @ 9:53am
yes this phenomene increase after loose hyspany and afrique, but not only, In 406, stilicon, for to destroy radagaise army must to take all the forces on the rhin and recruit slave in italy because he had not enough soldier. it was one of the reasons to the great invasion in the gaul in december 406, on the frozen rhin.
XxRedHornetxX/Resonare Romanorum  [author] 7 Jul, 2021 @ 11:49am
In the late antiquity the main pb of the roman army was she can not recruit and can not paid the soldiers. For more réalism, i think you could to increase the maintenance cost of roman unit and increase the création time-->Yes thats true, but that happened after losing provinces as hispania and africa. I would apply that dynamic in the next chapter, which will transport us to that context.
alexgan.60 7 Jul, 2021 @ 11:24am

only if i change the number with pfm, maybe it 's only with my system, but i cheked the vanilla files and all it's ok. i don't understand why. if i don't touch (200 by unit), it's ok
XxRedHornetxX/Resonare Romanorum  [author] 7 Jul, 2021 @ 4:49am
alexgan.60: I still dont get the problem, but for sure the cavalry is not on foot in these mods.

Rubino303: Thanks! More soon!
Rubino303 6 Jul, 2021 @ 11:10am
Cool, thanks for the response, and thanks again for making these mods!
alexgan.60 6 Jul, 2021 @ 10:44am
i see the pb, if you modif the number of cavalry soldier with PFM, the cavalry it's on foot, strange....
Rutger 6 Jul, 2021 @ 5:06am
I would change the religion balance of Romano-Britannia and the northwestern provinces of the Western Roman Empire. At the start of the campaign there's 0 percent Latin Christianity in these regions. I would say they deserve at least 30 percent of Latin Christianity.
XxRedHornetxX/Resonare Romanorum  [author] 6 Jul, 2021 @ 4:25am
Rubino303: Um they should be , but i cant guarantee a vanilla experience of them if one of these chapters is also activated.

Rubino303 6 Jul, 2021 @ 12:42am
i understand that, but are AoC and Last Roman still playable if i have this installed?
XxRedHornetxX/Resonare Romanorum  [author] 6 Jul, 2021 @ 12:12am
Rubino303: You have to play all chapters individuallly.
Rubino303 5 Jul, 2021 @ 8:08pm
Do you know if the other campaigns are affected by this mod in any way, are they still playable? Really enjoying it so far, great work man! :steamhappy:
