HOWEVER, I feel that all weapons (Especially things like the MGs, ACs, Gauss and to an extent SRMs) feel very off because they're not at all muffled like you're sitting in the cockpit.
At the moment it all sounds like you're standing in the open right next to the weapon firing, instead of inside a sealed, armoured cockpit with a helmet and comms equipment on.
All you'd need to do is put the sound library through a pretty weak low pass filter and you'd have a perfect outcome.
I feel the low pass filter would both be more realistic, but maybe more importantly, reduce ear strain, as loud high end tends to do that. If you listen to the vanilla noises, all of them are relatively 'muffled' which is a little less ear-grating.
The quality of sounds in this mod are far, far better though and I wish I knew how to find and add the low pass filter to the sounds myself without breaking something.
There are sounds/classes that I'm absolutely in love with (looking at you, lasers), and some that for personal reasons I'm not a huge fan of (ACs, PPCs, etc.) usually because they're TOO realistic (e.g., they grate on the ears after many repeated plays). So with that I do find myself wishing for "line-item versions" where possible, but maybe that's just me.
Again love this mod, great work!
Everytime a Rival Mercernary is joining the fight (ally or hostile) the intro music isn't played. And the BG music is quiet until the end of the mission
It's been confusing trying to put things together by reading the discussions in the comments (especially for a smooth brain like me) so I really hope I haven't completely butchered the facts lol.
Happy moments.
Again sorry I can't change the UI stuff but when I can I will.
Trying to by pass the limits imposed after DLC 1 that limited the ammount of audio that can play at any given time
The other problem with the muffling and having to boost volume to appreciate the sounds is mechlab and menu on the leopard becomes very loud when return from a fight. Besides this the MG's, missiles and Guass all sound great! Need to try some PPG's next.
For the MASC nothing I can do the UI is still borked can't make any changes audio wise to those sounds as of yet.

This older mod will remain up for any one who wants it as 3.0 is a cockpit styled audio mod and may not be someone's cup of tea.
Cockpit sound mod 3.0
I hope you will enjoy the new concept or rather return of the cockpit sound mod.
