For some reason the AI absolutely HATES the handgunner units and goes out of its way to damage them.
They will always take priority when it comes to enemy arty or spells. Really strange.

Hey @MathiAwesomE! I saw your last comment and i think you are doing a great job with this little mod! great!.
After i spend a few hours trying this unit, can i say a pair of things to spice a little up and make this mod a must to even force CA to listen us?

Mkay, here we go:

1: Add weapon missile dmg to all ranged sartosan units in her unique perks.

2: Add the 3 sartosan units to the elite red line at least to make them worth.

3: The same with the tech: every tech the gunner mob benefit it, the sartosan units should too.

4: The problem here is not reaally Aranessa, she doesnt need more dmg or something like that, id recommend a little nerf to speed (-10%) and melee (-5) and is perfect.

5: Oh and make the custom unit a t3 unit! the empire have gunners at T3, i dont think smelly,ugly pirates can access weapons before the manufacturer, dont you think?

@Boalition They don't get any boost from the red tree, nor from any tech's as far as I'm aware

They are though considered infantry so will get the appropriate buffs if that is stated, the militia units are considered missile infantry and can get buffed by an Gunnery Wight

I considered putting them in the red tree somewhere, but no place really felt right, besides Aranessa already buffs them up quite a bit

@Mortarch of Blood Making a human pirate faction was pretty much my first modding idea for this game! It's certainly something I will have a go at in the future :)

I noticed that the handgunners aren't getting the +3 recruit levels from Aranessa's lord trait. Would it be possible to add them to whatever list determines whether they are Sartosan or not?

If you have any modding experience Shinobus, I'd recommend making one as it IS something people would play a lot of. You could ask to borrow marine variants from the mod that adds Empire naval troops to the game.

@Emperors Champion Dragos I'm not familiar with the lore surrounding this faction, it's new to me (as are most things with Warhammer) But either way, I feel CA missed the boat by not making a human pirate faction :)

I wish CA kept Sartosa as humans, I mean, they are humans but the only faction in the game with them is mainly vampires, sadly.

The point was that I wanted to tweak the faction a bit, not to make an overhaul, if an overhaul is what you wish, then Nanu's overhaul is a good option, but I personally prefer small changes to make the experience better

Of course if there are any good ides out there, then i might implement them

I will when i get home from work make it compatible with Nanu's mod :)

This faction should be a human faction. Why CA went with undead with Aranessa is beyond me.

My suggestion halberds and few living cannonades, and perfect. Sartosa is a really cool faction, always felt like it needed a bit more brainstorming and tweaking after its induction but of course it could only get as much as they could spare while also releasing three, unique in their own ways, factions for the culture.
