Glad you liked it anyway! I've got another Spacebuild map in the works (read: might be vaporware) that should run, and hopefully look, a hell of a lot better than Discovery. Also you'll be able to throw your excess FNAF ragdolls into the sun.

Real talk though, having a lot of cubemaps isn't a bad thing on small maps like this one. The biggest issue is that it blows up the file size, and in the grand scheme of things, this map doesn't actually have too many. It's not a great idea to spam them on your gm_bigcity edit, but it's perfectly acceptable here. I generally put them wherever the lighting or surroundings are different enough from the next nearest cubemap that it'd look weird to *not* place another one.
Also, you can make a spherical displacement out of a cube, just select all 6 faces and hit Subdivide. It's not a perfect sphere, but it's good enough for a boulder. I added a little bit of noise to mine, but you can also go into Sculpt or Paint Geometry mode and edit your sphere that way.
