Try adding more available lords and heroes with slower cycle time maybe, if possible, different approach might circumvent bug.

Lol for Dark elves you refresh the pool by Farming Lords off the pool by using loyalty mechanics.

I forgot to mention that my HE campaign is somewhere between the 50-60 turn and every time I recruit / disband a noble, I got the following message 'Noble , has been recruited'

I don't know if it's related to your mod but I have a wierd bug on my HE campaign : the noble hero is bugged aka its has no trait and no skill :(
I suppose it's better to do a few turn and then activate this mod.

The last patch for total warhammer 2 is officially out, so please if you ever wanted to officially update your mods now is the ideal time :)

Hi, just FYI, this bug occurs even in games that have not gone long. It started happening on my Dwarf campaign somewhere between turn 40 and 48 - I'm only on turn 50 as of today. I noticed it but had no idea what was causing the issue until I happened across this mod again and decided to check the msg's which I do from time time with mods I'm subscribed to

1) yes it's safe to remove, 2) the bug isn't that bad, I've finished through campaigns with it on so it's not game breaking, just immersion breaking. 3) it's probably possible to fix, but I don't know how, and I think to add many names would be a tedious and great amount of work, and can't even guarantee that'll fix it. :(

Hey Spooky, I've been enjoying this mod greatly. Thank you so much. But recent comments about the CA bug, and its interaction with this mod causing issues, has me concerned. 1) Is it safe to uninstall this mod mid campaign? I think it should be as it only affects one value that should just revert, but i have a lot of time invested. So i need to make sure. 2) How bad is the bug worst case scenario? Given enough time, will no names or portraits eventually display correctly? 3) Is it possible to make a simple mod to fix the bug by: either regularly refreshing/reshuffling all previous used names and portraits to avoid running out, or addling a crap ton of names and portraits to the lists?

Sure, here's the bug description. I encourage anyone to report it.

With very long games (and with spooky's recruitment refresh mod), the game eventually starts missing agent names. They'll appear in the events as a blank or just as a comma. Portraits also start mismatching.

My theory is that after so long, the game runs out of agent names and ID's to use, and starts to bug. My mod makes this happen sooner, because it cycles the possible names and ID's faster.

Spooky can you please summarize in text form what the CA bug is?
We can send it to the Community bug fix mod and perhaps they can implement it as a fix in their mod plus forward it to CA as a suggested fix.

I agree it's a CA bug. I recall this occurring in games that went over 300 turns. But the problem is that this mod guarantees it occurring, unless you get blown up early and lose. Perhaps you can contact CA about it?

soft puppy, did you start a new campaign? When you do, does it happen as early?

The bug isn't with my mod, it's a CA bug, but my mod makes it happen much earlier in the game.

Hi, thank you for your awesome mod.

I'm experiencing the same bugs, like agent names appearing as blank with missing portraits and deafeated lord with the wrong portrait and faction on the Event recap UI. A wounded hero "Back for Duty" alert as Beastmen, but showing a High Elf, etc.

Seems to happen after around turn 50 or so. I'm not sure what faction you're playing as matters, as it happened in both my Beastman Campaign and now, Vampire Coast.

Had the same issue on belegar campaing in mortal empires happened after turn 48 tried to not recruit for some 5 turns at all but bug still was happening.

Yes, had the same issue in my Sniktch campaign when I was trying out your mod. It started with the game showing wrong lords in events, like you kill greenskins and it shows asur lord in post battle message. Then it stops showing them at all, only tells location. I was about turn 70 when I dropped it because it was ruining my immersion. It might be engine limitation or something so maybe that's why the original refresh is so slow :P
Maybe extend the name list by x times proportional to the refresh speed up (if possible, not a modder myself).

I wonder exactly what's happening... Is the game refusing to use the same name twice, so it goes through the pool of possible names faster? It seems like certain races it happens to more than others too.

I'm trying to dig into this issue. I don't think this mod causes it, but I think it makes this bug come up sooner in your game.. Would be interested to hear your experiences regarding this.

The longest a character should be in the pool is 4 turns. It could be replaced by a character with the same portrait, and just be unlucky. If you have the same character with the same name and traits that survives the pool for 5 turns, then there's a problem.

is it possible to just make this a button? Like you just press a button and it re-rolls the recruit-able heros and their traits for gold? Is their a mod already out their that does this?

@steelmidnight if you hate using clones, and you happen to play dark elves, you should check out my other mods. I'm making tons of unique variants for all the heroes and lords. No more clones :D (I hate them too)
