does exactly what you want it to do!

Right-click "Cut everything" designator icon for more options. See more in mod description.

I wanted to use this to create no grow zones for fighting areas. Is there a way to stop pawns from cutting grass but continue to cut things that provide cover? Maybe even an "only cut trees" option, lol

@Mixer I don't prefer that
Mixer 3 Dec, 2022 @ 6:45am
Thank you for nice mod!
But I think it would be nice if the automatic cutting of plants took place not in the farming zone, but in the home zone. Thus, the clean zone would expand automatically without further action.

@KomradeKD Thanks for answering. It looks like we have an update now a few hours later.

@Everyone Thanks for updating.

Version 1.1.4 was released for Rimworld 1.4. Some additional fixes:

- Fix typo in word "cutting".
- When disallowing cutting trees, only the ones where "tree lovers care if chopped" will be preserved. Should allow harvesting things like fibercorn and similar plants.

@mo123567 Colony Manager by Fluffy lets you do this. You have to build a manager's desk first, but you can create a job that cuts all the vegetation in a designated allowed area. It's not as elegant as this mod, but it gets the job done.

Is there a mod that does this for 1.4?
m4u1nh0 24 Oct, 2022 @ 5:32am
1.4 please?

Currently, disabling cutting trees also disables harvesting fibercorn. Is there a way to allow fibercorn to be harvested while disabling cutting trees?

Hey, just a minor fyi intended as constructive, the job shown for pawns following the 'Cut all plants in Zone' has a minor typo (Cuting all plants, as opposed to Cutting all plants). Not even remotely functionally important, but is there to fix if you so deem you would like to. Thanks for the mod, it is very helpful <3

Hi.
Would it be possible to add two options:
- cut everything except the growing zone plant
- disable harvesting
Thanks

My turret was meant to guard my yard, but the trees keep blocking shots when enemies attacking.
With this mod, I can cut all the trees in my yard without putting rock-floors which made wild plants impossible to grow :)

Jeeee... Looking for a mod like this for 5min. Thanks:steamthumbsup:
Reianor 4 Aug, 2021 @ 9:24am
You can harvest anything and everything that way AFAIK, just don't forget to turn off sowing or it'll go south in a vareity of ways.
Reianor 4 Aug, 2021 @ 9:20am
Last time I checked (it was quite some time ago thoguh) that was a feature of vanilla growth zone.
https://rimworldwiki.com/wiki/Ambrosia
And wiki still says that it is.
Everyone  [author] 29 Jul, 2021 @ 5:23am
Unexpected feature: this now allows harvesting ambrosia without also harvesting the trees. Create growing zone around ambrosia, set "allow sow" to off, set "allow cutting trees" to off.
Everyone  [author] 29 Jul, 2021 @ 4:48am
Added a toggle available per-zone to disallow cutting any trees.
Mark_Collie 28 Jul, 2021 @ 1:15pm
Yeah beacause of tree lovers, and it would help so much with it
Flesh Forge 23 Jul, 2021 @ 10:45am
yeah I see it's in today's patch
Everyone  [author] 23 Jul, 2021 @ 7:43am
Tynan has posted that there is this fix in unstable branch:

- Fix: Pawns will attempt to harvest trees in growing zomes marked as no cutting.

Let's wait and see if that resolves the problem.
Flesh Forge 23 Jul, 2021 @ 3:53am
not exactly the Tree Connection meme, by default it doesn't punish you very much for cutting trees, it's the No Tree Cutting precept option, which makes the entire colony go nuts when anyone cuts down any trees. aside from the designators it's also a problem with automatic cutting in growing zones (even with No Cutting set, pawns will still cut down mature trees, and all trees adjacent to the border of the grow zone)
Everyone  [author] 22 Jul, 2021 @ 5:10am
Wait. Because of tree lovers, right? :D
Everyone  [author] 22 Jul, 2021 @ 2:58am
@dogmaster7 when would you use this?
Mark_Collie 21 Jul, 2021 @ 2:22pm
Can we get a cut all except trees
Everyone  [author] 14 Jul, 2021 @ 9:23am
Added few more useful options
Everyone  [author] 14 Jul, 2021 @ 3:10am
Some cases I imagine would be helpful are to only cut all things that count as cover, or to cut things that block wind turbine. Maybe I should add right-click menu on "cut-everything" to pick another mode?

By the way, the mod is a bit sneaky: it designates to cut only things that are not harvestable the usual way, so to not conflict with existing harvest work.
Everyone  [author] 14 Jul, 2021 @ 3:04am
@Bustly Not sure how to do that with such a mod name
Everyone  [author] 14 Jul, 2021 @ 3:03am
@DisKorruptd a typical growing zone with allowSow = false will do that. It's usual trick to put it near ambrosia sprout and then your colonists will harvest ambrosia when it's ready. They will also harvest anything that's grown there, like berries or trees.
なの〈Nano〉 14 Jul, 2021 @ 1:42am
Nice, I usually just put some concrete floors to prevent that, but maybe this will be useful as well

@DisKorruptd I heard if you just disable sowing it will work as well, think I will use something like 'Growing Zone Priorities' to lower the priority for a bit in case my pawns heading out too much. Also there's a mod called 'Colony Manager,' you can assign specific plant type to do that, it's a bit overkill and I think don't work with old save though
*Edited: lol, forgot sowing exists in unmodded game, only need to use Toggle Harvest if you don't want the zone working all the time I guess
DisKorruptd 13 Jul, 2021 @ 10:29pm
Is there a gizmo to clear only fully grown plants? like, to set up foraging zones?
Bustly 13 Jul, 2021 @ 4:14pm
Any way you'd be able to designate certain plants to spare?
