Anyone know if this is safe to add mid-game?
Albert 20 Oct, 2024 @ 7:12am
can you make an addon where the stone sledgehammer is disabled. is just too op to give ability to craft them.
NexTnTMa5ter 10 May, 2024 @ 6:31pm
can you make the one log give 20 nails instead of 200
LiterallyBeenVibing 25 Mar, 2024 @ 10:32am
this mod is working and fine for me, however, the make 200 nails with 2 carpentry and 1 log is fucking BUSTED, not in a way its broke but it just makes nails invaluable and have no need to be found.
anarko_1 8 Nov, 2023 @ 9:25am
hey is this mod abandoned?
MAB 26 Nov, 2022 @ 9:17am
@Zaedyn
Thank you for making this mod i'm living in the forest i'll really need this :D.
One thing that might you want to add is Scissor only saying because most of the tools are here like saw, needle and Screwdriver
By the way crafting an item is taking so long, wish you could little speed it up in multiplayer. Thanks
poppajulietwhiskey 26 Nov, 2022 @ 5:21am
Hah. Twine paper clips...

Agreed. This sounds too OP for me, esp. with the tools. Personally, I'd prefer if either (a) this mod was split up into smaller mods (like one for clothes, one for tools and one for simple items) or (b) a "lite" version was released which only had the clothes and simple items (such as Twine from Twigs, Tarps from Sheets, Pillow from Thread, Sack from Thread and Satchel from Thread).

this is so strange. im having constant issues keeping this mod working, and now it'll go periods of time just unable to function. It doesn't make any sense. maybe I overloaded on mods that are similar..? I don't know...
Kat 15 Jul, 2022 @ 2:09pm
This is a really great idea but there needs to be some drawback of using the primitive version of these items. Why ever look for a normal saw if you can craft one?? Why look for a sledge if you can craft one? ect.
Entropy Dúlamán 12 Jun, 2022 @ 12:08pm
This is amazing for wilderness survival runs. Now I just gotta find a mod that allows for ways to get electrical development in the pure wilderness. An end game goal of modern day living from nothing.

Thank you for the hard work.
Loony Liberator 4 Jun, 2022 @ 7:24pm
The rollback worked, the hotkeys and minimap are working again, just needed to uninstall, quit the game then do the unsub resub trick to get it to apply.
Same as what Ickerion said, thank you for your efforts.
Yoggy Boi 4 Jun, 2022 @ 1:08pm
I'm having an issue with this specific mod where it kills the mini-map. I don't know what exactly is happening but I will definitely see if it's a mix of mods that is killing the minimap when adding this map, so this MIGHT not even be your fault. I just know it isn't playing nice with me right now.
Ickerion Kane 4 Jun, 2022 @ 12:51pm
Well, I really do hope that you succeed in that! Thank you very much for your efforts, and really, no need to be sorry - your mod is cool and you're making survival in the woods so much less painful for me, thus I just hope that you will continue developing it. Cheers!
Zaedyn  [author] 4 Jun, 2022 @ 12:08pm
I can't figure out what the new recipes are incompatible with so I set it back for now. I was able to load my save after this. I'll be extensively testing later tonight to get it working on my end before uploading. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Loony Liberator 4 Jun, 2022 @ 7:30am
Having the same problem as Ickerion. If you need another source for error details I'll check back for a response.
Ickerion Kane 4 Jun, 2022 @ 5:39am
I have no idea why, but update broke hotkeys: like, all the hotkeys, including map, interaction wheel, shouting etc did nothing and gave red pop-up. Two days ago everything was perfectly fine, but today it broke and I checked what mods were updated: it was your mod and ExtraSauce QoL. Disabling QoL didn't help, disabling this... well, did help. And I'm kind of sad because of that since I'm very much used to how helpful this mod is. Is there any way of fixing it or at least knowing with which mod does it conflict? I can provide error details if there is any need for those.
Zaedyn  [author] 3 Jun, 2022 @ 5:10pm
Update and you'll be good, sorry for the error.
Shadow 3 Jun, 2022 @ 4:33pm
shoes from thread broke merging thread on my game, help?
Zaedyn  [author] 18 May, 2022 @ 5:43pm
The mod works just fine, and will until they change how crafting works.. I can't seem to get the steam workshop to show a new changelog or update version so I'm leaving it as is for now.
ReaperSymbiote 12 May, 2022 @ 12:05pm
Never commented or anything on a mod but the other guy's are right even if coming off as demanding. This mod is a god send and I hope you don't burn out from zomboid or updating this mod bro.
KillerNexus 1 May, 2022 @ 4:29pm
Nice additions for Woodland runs, thanks!

In the future, Would you mind adding thread required to the recipes that require sewing together sheets and maybe a sheet to the pillow and sack recipes? Also changing the recipe names to "pillow/sack from sheet"?
turtlebacons 17 Apr, 2022 @ 1:50pm
guy below me - he is being a bit forceful but he is right, your mod is so useful and it'd be nice if you kept working on it <3
magborg 24 Jan, 2022 @ 4:19pm
Zaedyn - You know that you are literally the only one on the Workshop who has something like this right? You cannot retire from this mod till at least someone else makes something similar. The devs obviously made Zomboid on purpose to play in a way that you are forced to go into civilization to find everything, BUT they also created Zomboid with an excellent forest, SO they screwed themselves. How can you go into the forest to permanently live when many essential resources force you back into the city. In a real Zombie apocalypse, I will come up with every technique you can think of to keep me out there in the wild, somewhere safe, and screw civilization. If the natives can do it, so can I or die trying.
Zaedyn  [author] 24 Jan, 2022 @ 3:29pm
@magborg I appreciate your kind words. I also found it difficult to achieve what I had planned in my play-through, this was the simplest way of fixing that. Thanks for the support :D
magborg 24 Jan, 2022 @ 1:37pm
Zaedyn - my first ever run of Zomboid was an out there in the wild in a small cabin and it was impossible to play. Then your mod came out.
magborg 24 Jan, 2022 @ 1:34pm
Zaedyn - I concur. It does show on my end. This is good. I have had this mod from day one of your release, I think, and I disabled it and was waiting to re-enable it.
Zaedyn  [author] 24 Jan, 2022 @ 12:44pm
Update date and change log fixed, sorry for the inconvenience.
Zaedyn  [author] 24 Jan, 2022 @ 12:22pm
Not sure why but Steam isn't registering the latest update or change log, looking for a fix. The mod does work with 41.65.
magborg 24 Jan, 2022 @ 10:30am
Zaedyn - you did not push the update. Steam shows last updated on 23 Jul, 2021 @ 2:06pm and, when looking at the change notes, it concurs with the last updated date. Please do update the mod so I / we can use your mod, thank you.
Iceciro 30 Dec, 2021 @ 8:13am
Huh. @Zaedyn did you actually push the update? Or is Steam being odd? It doesn't show a recent update.
Zaedyn  [author] 23 Dec, 2021 @ 6:48am
Updated for Multiplayer, have fun everyone!
NeonScreams 21 Dec, 2021 @ 10:15pm
Plans for update? Love this mod!
BeatlJoe 4 Sep, 2021 @ 2:19am
The mode is not bad. I don't like to abuse him.:steamhappy: In combination with modes that scrap items, wood becomes scrap.
Cursed Chaos 11 Aug, 2021 @ 10:36pm
thank you this worked for me
Zaedyn  [author] 11 Aug, 2021 @ 3:37pm
@Cursed Chaos Yea you're able to change what mods the save loads by hitting more at the bottom right after hitting load in the main menu :) Have fun!
Cursed Chaos 11 Aug, 2021 @ 12:56pm
@zaedyn thank you for the update any tips on how to get this to work with my existing save it only shows up on a new game? tnx again
Zaedyn  [author] 11 Aug, 2021 @ 11:30am
@Cursed Chaos, Updated :) sorry for the wait. Unless there is a major change to how recipes are added in, this should work for future patches.
Cursed Chaos 11 Aug, 2021 @ 10:04am
will this get updated to 41.53?
adres4t 4 Aug, 2021 @ 4:39pm
I have been looking for mod like this one, thanks!
makeshift bed would be cool, shelter made out of branches etc. to make living in the wilderness a proper kick. I have a lot of ideas for makeshift stuff but no modding skills to make them happen.
Zaedyn  [author] 31 Jul, 2021 @ 12:57pm
@magborg, Probably not, as 41.50 is a different option in the betas tab now, but you're free to try :)
magborg 31 Jul, 2021 @ 9:09am
I presume this mod will work with build 41.50 correct?
login 21 Jul, 2021 @ 12:43am
THANK YOU
the wooden nails i have wanted for so long, but i don't know nothing about coding, so i just left it, thank you so much man
Ghul King 20 Jul, 2021 @ 2:32pm
100% hella good idea with the wooden nails. I might have to throw this one in my next series.
Kaldrak 17 Jul, 2021 @ 2:47pm
Thanks! Been a few years since I played so I'm still getting used to build 41. I got stuck way out in the countryside foraging and couldn't build much. Your mod is super helpful.
Zaedyn  [author] 17 Jul, 2021 @ 2:22pm
@Kaldrak All of the recipes can be seen in the crafting menu, in carpentry and survivalist.
Kaldrak 17 Jul, 2021 @ 1:53pm
What are the sledgehammer recipes?
sergal saturn (they/them) 16 Jul, 2021 @ 2:25pm
Awesome!! Technically you don't need to have the fishing rod since you can use a wooden spear to fish and if you've read the magazine can make one out of a tree branch and twine. Plus, with the wooden nails you can use them as the hook, so no need to add extra paperclips. Super cool, this one will be fun for multiplayer.
Zaedyn  [author] 15 Jul, 2021 @ 2:15pm
@orb Thank you for your suggestion! :)
sergal saturn (they/them) 15 Jul, 2021 @ 1:34pm
Nice change. Dowels are neat but they're not super flexible in terms of compatibility. Maybe to balance the obvious ease of just making tons of cheap wood nails you could make the crafting time very slow and require higher carpentry skill?
