The mass did change on the missiles. They probably need more fine tuning, but in the end there are already much better systems than this, so I doubt I'll be updating until I dive back into SW.

The detonation code could use some improvement, since sometimes they don't detonate. I'll toy with it over the coming weeks and see if I can improve it.

The flight model in SW is soupy thick like flying through oatmeal. That's why "wind" is capable of lifting battleships. Some players modify their creations using a known drag glitch that removes most of the drag on them. I consider this cheating, but it means the missiles have to fly through oatmeal like everything else, and that makes things very tricky.

I could try loading more missiles and trying again, but I get the feeling I'd get court marshaled for that.

But, yeah, when it's not horribly windy (because the game seems to really love cranking the wind when set to auto), the missiles to actually work quite well.

Thanks! Yep, it has limits. Eventually, I may create a variant of this that is effective at longer range, at the cost of fewer missiles. They'd have to be bulky to have the range and speed they'd need to hit fast targets at >2km.

the system itself is sleek and tracks well, however the 1.5km range of the missiles hurts this vehicle a lot. most aircraft carrying ordinance can wild weasel this thing without ever being in danger

Nice! They're pretty easy to reduce the thrust on, so I'm letting folks adjust that to how they see fit. Good to know they can nearly hit 3km if detuned.

If you set the Rocket to around 50%, it has a significant increase in range.
Managed to shoot down a plane (Medium size) at 2800M with a single missile.
And I'm sure max range was not reached

Thanks! In function, it's a bit more like ACLOS, as the missile is guided by radio, with no downlink, and no feedback from the target. I would love to see more sensors arrive with the Weapons DLC to give us a wider variety of methods to track targets. Especially parts that help miniaturize missiles, like vector thrust SRBs and 1x1 missile body fins, etc.

Very interesting system to calculate the angular displacement between missile & target using GPS. Well done! (I guess this is the one of the only ways to imitate passive radar homing in stormworks as of now?)
