To be honest, I can't exactly remember 100%. I'm pretty sure all you have to do is:
- delete the profile that you want to start over on
- then start a new game on that profile and launch it so that it loads into the tutorial stage (The New Road)
- Now exit the game completely, and re-copy over the correct custom profile in place of the one that you just deleted
- Remember too, just in case, the custom profiles are: 3, 4, 5, 6 but actually show up in-game as: Profiles 4, 5, 6, 7
- If the above process doesn't work, try clearing the cache like you said, if that doesn't work, then yes, you'll have to delete all the profiles and start over.
Also, my last expected update has gotten postponed due to an influx of new mods being released. I've been testing everything the past few days and should hopefully have the new update by this weekend, so I guess you'll have to start over anyways. If you want the update that is.
Sorry, I just got home and saw your messages. I'm glad you were able to fix the issue though, as I wouldn't have been able to help much since I've never ran into that problem before. I wouldn't have even thought to clear the Steam cache. Nice work and thanks for sharing the fix with everyone. Let me know if you run into anything else though, and I'll try to help where I can.
@Sarah
Thanks for the comment, and I'm glad you appreciate the collection. If you need any help with anything, I'll do my best to assist.
I'm still creating the new presets, but I have to go do something really stupid and need to put this on hold until tomorrow. I promise though, they will be up and available no later then tomorrow. In the meantime, you should delete all mods and redownload the collection again with Conexus. I updated it yet again today, and you'll have to download it tomorrow anyways to use the presets, so you might as well do it now and save yourself some more time for gaming tomorrow.
I am updating everything right now. It takes me a couple hours to set up the presets, but they'll be ready to rock in a little bit.
Oh crap, sorry about that. I even knew that AND had the original present when I tested the redux, but brainfarted when I updated the collection and removed the original. Thanks for help and nicely done catching that. I'll add it back right now and update the links.
This is a reimagining of the original mod by Rampart1028, thus, the original mod is required for this to function properly. (Load this above the original Knight of Cain).
No problem at all and I'm glad you like the collection. I'm going to be updating the collection yet again tomorrow and will also update the custom saves link as well, so stay tuned if your interested.
Hello, sorry for the inconvenience. I'm aware I need to update the files so everything is current, but I haven't been able to the past couple days. I will try to have everything fixed and updated by tomorrow. Sorry again, I was hoping no one would notice for a few days.
BTW my black screen problem seems gone, so those both mods seems conflicting.
BTW what collection you using? My bet is collection based on save for DD2..
Maybe you can help me with your experience in mods.. When I created my mod list I used your mod collection as barebones. In overall I got working stable 440 mod list. Only 1 bug occurred few times - after I hit embark, I got black screen, but I can see maps objects tooltips on that black screen. But its not game breaking - need restart game to fix it.
Yeah for sure, I'll start doing that from now on. Here's what was changed in the most recent update though.
- added "The Exanimate" by McSkellington
- added "Dogs & Brigands" by 黒人
- added "Thing From The Stars Quest" by Quick-Fix
- added "Single-Trinket Shrieker Fight" by Quick-Fix
- removed "Maniac - Class Mod [W.I.P]" by 黒人
- removed "Roaming Collector" by Doctrine Dark
- removed "Roaming Shrieker" by Mafe
@everyone
I'm going to update the install guide & fixed mods link, and the custom saves link in a couple hours just so anyone who reads this knows.
Try downloading this, and place the "fe_flow" folder that's inside into your Darkest Dungeon game directory. When it asks if you want to replace files, say yes to all. Let me know if it worked, which it should.

No other mod in the entire list would effect the game from the main menu other then that mod. All the other mods would only cause errors during or after loading into a game. That probably won't happen either though, because I've been fine tuning the sh#t out of this collection for almost 2 years.
https://imgur.com/hef1G0Z can anyone help?
2. On that same 4th profile, create a new profile, difficulty and DLC options don't matter because this profile is about to get overwritten anyways, call it whatever you want, hit enter, then start the game.
3. Once it loads into the tutorial stage, go to the options and close the game completely.
4. Now open up my custom save profiles that you downloaded, and drag the "profile 3" folder into your DD saved games folder, and say yes when it asks you if you want to overwrite the files. After it's done copying the files, now load up the game again, and you'll now see my custom profile instead with all the mods preactivated as promised.
5. Do this same process again for the other 2 custom save files, but make sure to start on the profile right underneath the first one you just did.
I'm sure you've probably moved on by now, but I think I found the culprit that was giving you that error message. Pretty sure it was being caused by "Anemone's Better (And More!) CoM Trinkets". While diagnosing I was able to get that same error to trigger, then remembered that mod uses "conduit" trinkets. I removed the mod and the error went away and I haven't been able to reproduce it again with any other mod.
Now I'm going to go through and make some custom builds for those of you that prefer to not choose which mods to activate, and would rather just plug-n-play. Again, stay tuned.
This mod collection just got massively refined with the intention of making things much easier and straightforward for everyone, not just the DD modding vets. I'm in the process of rewriting the installation guide now, with focus only on the "Conexus" method and moving away completely from the "Subscribe" method. I will also be writing a guide explaining the different mod intricacies so that you have more knowledge of what should or shouldn't be activated when choosing which mods you want to activate. Stay tuned, coming soon.
Damn, that fricken sucks. That means that Steam FINALLY updated subscribed mod ordering so that it now works properly. So unfortunately you'll have to "Unsubscribe From All" and start from the top next time, or use Conexus which is the superior method imo. Since Steam apparently did fix the ordering issue though, you could try the "Subscribe To All" button and cross your fingers that it works so you don't waste your time again. Honestly though, just use Conexus. Another benefit it has is that it keeps mods in a different folder then subscribed mods, so if a mod gets removed from Steam for some reason, it won't automatically get deleted from your mods folder like it would if you were subscribed to it.
Sorry again you wasted your time by starting from the bottom. Even though that used to be what was required, I'll update the guide so that no one falls victim to that again.
