No, usually if they don't spawn you'll have to change the load order

ahh okay, thats all good then. was under the impression that the non-MES one didnt work with MES properly and the animals wouldnt spawn

No I can't, there is a incompatibility with the mes creature spawner and MES.
You can use the "not MES" one with MES and daily needs it just won't have the biome spawning

no just got a bit confused as you have this MES version that is not compatible with Daily Needs, then you have a Non-MES version that does support Daily Needs. i was meant to leave a comment on the other version asking if you plan on making one that supports both MES and Daily Needs

The faction starts as neutral you can use the admin faction controls to set it and make peace

Is there any way to set these creatures to be neutral? I like to see them running around but my guns immediately shoot them.

I didn't know that, I wonder when that was added. I know combat phase also stops creatures but I used to be able to get constant spawning until the game crashed 😅

For anyone else who seems to be having problems getting this mod and/or Alien Animals to work, it turns out that in the config for MES (appdata/roaming/SpaceEngineers/Saves/[some number]/[your savegame]/Storage/ModularEncounterSystems/Config-Creatures.xml) the absolute minimum time for anything to spawn is set to 15 minutes by default. I'm guessing the settings are optimized for multiplayer, but if you're just hangin' out in single-player like me you might wanna fiddle with the settings.

I'm having a strange issue where the animals are spawning, but they are using the red engineer model. Could that be caused by a load order issue?

Then your issue is with MES. I suggest having a look at the MES wiki and discord for more troubleshooting tips.

A function within MES when a encounter mod will become more hostile. Animals get suppressed during this time. Use command /MES.GESAP in the chat to get a report of what's going on with mes.

Note for Ares At War : You have to be in Allowed Spawn to see the animals
For eg, in planet Agaris , it s outside of about 25km from the colony ( Use /MES.GESAP to know exactly where other MES faction can spawn , special Zone are defined )

I believe the config only allows for adjustments and black listing it can't add spawn groups

@Dog Pilot, The mes framework is supposed to handle those settings. Maybe something isn't right on the dedicated servernside? Is it a torch server? Will need log to confirm crash is this mod.

@peekofwar as far as i've seen on my ds, the mod generally crashes but you can attempt to turn on wolves and see if they work without crashing the mod. did some snooping through the comments and apparently its a requirement for the mod to work thats not listed.

Brought the game into singleplayer, set it to creative, and attempted to change my character model to a deer, and the game immediately crashed. Worked fine yesterday on a different save. Maybe a mod conflict?

Is there a way to confirm if the mod has actually loaded? Because in my singleplayer game it works and animals appear on planets, however in my dedicated server, I have not seen any animals.

I've not seen that one good to know it works. Daily needs was made before there was vanilla consumables so it's less compatible.

i've being using a new one called "iSurvival" which is a very basic "needs" mod right now, but it works fine with MES and Vanilla creatures spawning

"Eat sleep repeat" and "Vanilla Survival Experience" both work fine it is just" daily needs survival" that causes the infinite eating glitch.

@Chipstix213 the problem with the food might be an old reference in the mod, because i have been using other "needs" mods which are newer and they dont have that problem

You must be lucky using this mod with daily needs used to automatically consume all your food and constantly deplete the stats
I'll look into the targeting issue it might just be Keens issue against characters

@Chipstix213 I am currently using this mod and it works wonderfully even with Daily Needs! My issue that I'm running into is with the animal's hit boxes. I noticed that my turrets are firing slightly above the animals and of course missing. Is there anyway to correct this? I don't want to turn off shoot characters on my turrets because I'm using another mod that spawns people and robots. However when a animal comes into my perimeter I'm shooting out all my ammo on them.
