In the description it says that CS:S and L4D2 content must be mounted in order to play this map, so if you don't have these games then consider a site for downloading the materials needed! ^^

Well I just reinstalled the map after uninstalling it last night and it’s fixed

I don't exactly know what'd cause that issue besides possibly some kind of texture or mounting error maybe? But that's a shot in the dark, maybe try validating the files for the games you have mounted? This map requires CS:S and L4D2 -- if not that then I honestly can't guess much more, sorry ^^

for some reason the trees are pretty much flat and are covering the whole map with their waving branches and obstructing my view

As someone who is annoyingly picky about maps in gmod, this is actually like good and simple at the same time. It's not too bland, not to cluttered. Best part, I can have unlimited space to hold the children hostage in the basement, and commit genocides.

Thanks boss, this was a fun one to work on, lot of nostalgia for the time I worked on it.

Maybe sometime, the issue is that compiling this map basically takes my computer from me for a good chunk of a day because I still use a quad core

I never planned to continue to update the map since I've finished it. It's not incredibly put together so it's a bit of a nuisance to work on, especially with my older CPU.

Not gonna lie, I kinda want a daytime version of this map too. This actually somehow manages to tick so many boxes for a "Relaxing house in the woods" vibe than any other map I've found in the workshop so far. Underlying creepiness be damned, this is actually something I've been looking for for a while.

it was like 4am when i was playing it so it added onto the spooks
not saying that the map didnt do its job in making me uncomfortable a little bit, it did it perfectly no doubt about it.

I may have screwed something up with cubemaps, try typing "mat_specular 0" (without the quotation marks) in the console as a temporary fix.

Unsure why but for some reason with all the requirements the windows are errors.

Blankball, are they mounted in Garry's Mod, or only downloaded on steam? If they're not also mounted in Gmod as well as installed then it won't work.

Enigk, if it's only errors then you likely don't have CSS or L4D2 mounted, check that those mounted.

I should honestly watch Friday the 13th Zanetti, in the leadup to making this map I watched a good bit of old horror movies, but for whatever reason I didn't quite think about watching the most classic of the classics! Glad you're enjoying yourself, and I oughta get around to watching that movie.

It took a good bit of work to get finished, and getting up to the end it became a bit of a slog due to some errors that caused some head scratching, but I feel pretty happy that folks are enjoying it! There's a lot of super good Gmod maps that use CS:S, and L4D2 content is getting increasingly popular too, so I hope you can land it during the next sale because there's tons of cool work from all sortsa modders to look at with it!

I hit subscribe before I saw the game requirements. damn. I don't have L4D and I can't install CS:S. The map looks REALLY nice from the screenshots, nice work!

Absolutely perfect to portray Higgins Haven in gmod.

Yeah slasher flics and such definitely popped into mind as I was working on it, I suppose the extreme dark of the outside lends itself pretty well to that sort of thing! Not to mention the exterior building or furnishings for that whole "I heard something outside, you go check it out!" type deal. Glad you're enjoying it!
