OK Thanks. The pink/grey does appear with the LoRes UPK. I'am going to try with the HiRes UPK. I'll let you know, this might interest other users of your mod. Rgds

The attachments should be up to par regardless of the quality of the guns themselves, Xcom 2 is a pretty HIgh-Res game in the first place so it should be fine.

As for the pink/grey stuff, does this happen with the weapons without the high-res UPK?

Regardless I can only think of it being an issue on the ones who made the attachments or it being a missing files/textures thing, I believe the latter would be more likely but I don't ultimately know since I did not make the other mod nor have looked at it's file contents.

Hello Deadput. I use the Ghost Template Chimera Pack. I also use the attachment pack created by Vehementia.
a/ Should I decide to use the HiRes version of the weapons, which I downloaded, will the attachments also be HiRes ? I believe the answer is no, but I'd like to be sure. Will the attachments still be compatible with the weapons then ? I would say yes but I'm really not sure about that.
b/ For some attachments (the expanded magazines), I get the grey and pink look, which is related to textures if I'm not mistaken. Is there something I can do to get the real look ? I don't think unsubscribe / resubscribe works.

Oh okay, I thought it was set up to replace them by default. Thank you!
Deadput  [author] 23 Feb, 2022 @ 12:10pm
If you set it up to do so yes, ghost templates are just assets that don't do anything unless you set something up via config.

Aka this is an asset pack you could use to replace any weapon model if you do the manual config needed, without doing that this mod does nothing.
Krynik 20 Feb, 2022 @ 7:38pm
I'm confused on how I get these to show up. Do they replace the default look at a certain tech level?
Deadput  [author] 26 Dec, 2021 @ 4:36am
Replacing them with the vanilla weapon image isn't going to work because their split among several different images (so there's a base frame with other images being added on top depending on what attachment is on the gun, which is pretty much what's in the screenshot you uploaded but not supposed to be split up like that)

Aka they are not like the Chimera Firearms weapon icons which is a single image.

I´d just replace the chimera name with the vanilla one....but I can´t find it
p6kocka 26 Dec, 2021 @ 3:45am
I am searching for the correct vanilla weapons image names but I can´t find them.

+Edit_X2WeaponTemplate = (T = "ChimeraSMG", P = "strImage", V = "img:///ChimeraFirearms.UI.ChimeraSMG")
I have put ; before it but now there is no icon there. Isue is fixed...but no image at all. How to add the vanilla icons fo
r it pls?
Deadput  [author] 26 Dec, 2021 @ 3:19am
Can't speak for the other mod but if you mean the lower right weapon icon then that could possibly mean that something likely wasn't set up properly.

If it's an issue with the original image then pretty much the only thing you can do when using this Ghost Template mod is to not replace the weapon icons with these ones.

Aka I have no idea and I haven't ran into this issue on my own end.
p6kocka 26 Dec, 2021 @ 2:57am
EDIT: Is it possible to disable the custom icons to appear on the screen?
p6kocka 26 Dec, 2021 @ 2:55am
Is it fixable pls?
p6kocka 26 Dec, 2021 @ 2:54am
Hello. When using your mod or the original the icon for weapons (randomly) gets screwed. After choosing another soldier and selecting back the issue disappears but it´s annoying.
Deadput  [author] 13 Oct, 2021 @ 5:32pm
Yeah their ghost templates which means their not added into the game as actual weapons.

This is for skin mods like WSR or Template manager.
Daddy Takeda 13 Oct, 2021 @ 4:29pm
I've started a new game and I still can't find your weapons...
Daddy Takeda 12 Oct, 2021 @ 5:52pm
A mod was created to add attachments for Deadput's mod : https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2623147658

I mean it's possible for scope ones to potentially be done a well but whether they would look/fit well is another question since they don't really have rails.

Magazines and stocks are a definite no however since their part of the model and would thus require manual model editing which is not something I'm good at doing.
HATERADE 7 Oct, 2021 @ 8:49pm
Ahh, I see. It's a shame because they are great models. I love these as beam tier weapons.
Deadput  [author] 7 Oct, 2021 @ 4:03pm
Visual attachments only work on weapons that are split into parts in the first place like the base game conventional weapons.

The CS weapons are not only one whole piece but they don't really have anywhere to add parts visually, there is no rails for scopes or anything like that.

The only attachment that could be reasonably done are barrels.
HATERADE 7 Oct, 2021 @ 10:21am
@Deadput, do you think you will configure visual attachments for these at all?
DERPKING1991 3 Aug, 2021 @ 7:10pm
The thing that would be amazing for the guns in general is having to put color on them
Deadput  [author] 27 Jul, 2021 @ 1:14pm
Awesome to hear, honored to see you here!

@Deadput
Awesome - reverse engineer job - don't know why I didn't think of that sooner.
Thank you!
Deadput  [author] 26 Jul, 2021 @ 11:47pm
You can either do the Template Master way like this mod or, you can make a weapon template in the script files (aka the .UC file format) and make a new weapon template but don't have it set up to show up at all in your weapon barracks, then it would also be a ghost template.

Aka like the Advent weapons on Advent soldiers before they are given to them via their loadouts in GameData.ini
Deadput  [author] 26 Jul, 2021 @ 11:45pm
Look at the contents of my mod here, it's all ini excluding the content files.

@Deadput (or really anyone listening)
Sorry to bother y'all but does anyone know of a tutorial on how to make ghost templates? I swear I saw one when they first became a thing, but I can't find it anymore.

Long story short I'm looking to condense the weapon mods I use (not all of which are even ghosts hence needing to make my own) into a single mod of templates, just for personal use and easier load management.
Max 25 Jul, 2021 @ 6:37pm
Just get XSkin and use this mod to replace the looks of your soldiers' guns. That's it.
DERPKING1991 25 Jul, 2021 @ 6:32pm
Ghost Templates are mainly something to replace the guns or what?
When it comes to the "Ghost Templates" im lost.
Deadput  [author] 25 Jul, 2021 @ 3:05pm
Yup, it's there for the people.
UmbraStar 25 Jul, 2021 @ 1:26pm
Fantastic work by the way, thanks so much for this!
UmbraStar 25 Jul, 2021 @ 1:26pm
All we need now is Resistance Firearms to be converted to skins.
Savar Belmont 25 Jul, 2021 @ 10:51am
I love the random pigeon shot... not sarcasm, don't think in all my playthroughs i've ever seen landed birbs.
Azure 25 Jul, 2021 @ 2:59am
Nice
Deadput  [author] 25 Jul, 2021 @ 2:51am
I'll also be releasing optional skin textures to replace both this mod's as well as the originals with the skins used by Shrike and the Progeny factions as google downloads, it will be a similar process to replacing the original textures with the HQ ones.

That will be up in a few days.
