I'm unsure.

I lost access to the original files. I might update this at some point in the next few months, but it would have to be under a new workshop file.

Sorry to disappoint.

Is it safe to use it in 1.5? :guard:

@Wyrd it does work fine, but it throws like 20 red lines of errors at the main menu :winter2019angrybulb: so it's unconfortable at least

Mod works fine, just make sure it's low enough in your mod list to not be overwritten by something else

Hello,

I don't want to be the annoying guy, but I would like to know if there are plans of updating this mod to 1.4 or if it's abandonded. If it is, an estimated time would be nice.

In the meantime, I'll test it as it is right now and will come back with my results later.

I love the idea of having a mod assign a colour based on a faction's hostility. I really do. However, I'd much rather have a variety of different icons for different factions, rather than keeping the icons "consistent". Indeed, I'd love to use the new "RimWorld - Faction Icons", but with the colour scheme this mod uses.

I don't suppose it's possible to just use both mods and enjoy the icons of "RimWorld - Faction Icons" with the colour changes of this mod? Or does anyone know of a different mod that only changes the colour based on hostility?

@Ja dAttaque In addition to the "New Player Faction Icons" mod Karmapowered mentioned (I was not even aware of that one), there's also this one that does pretty much the same:

@Ja dAttaque This should be an option what you're looking for :

I can only imagine that it's been tried or asked for, so I apologise in advance: Is there a way to change only my faction icon, making it distinct from others?

Very cool.

looks and feel like solid wood, easier on my eyes so its simpler to see who is who - nice retexture

No problems, glad some people are enjoying it!

Just the colors for the Vikings are changed for now.

I've been working on the next update and so far I have also added compatibility for:
- Vanilla Factions Expanded - Insectoids
- Androids

Are the viking icons supposed to change, because they aren't changing for me. Also, do you have plans to change the rest of the vanilla factions expanded icons & Ideology?

I was looking for a mod like this yesterday, I didnt know what to search for, found it today scrolling thx

I'm obviously chuffed you took my feedback on board: I came back after starting a colony to discover all my neighbors were hostile after I thought they were neutral. Easiest like ever, thank you for considering my complaint.

Unfortunately that'd be beyond my abilities. I don't know any C#. Sorry.

Any chance to get changeable (or random) faction icons per faction? I'm interested in having multiple factions of the same type and currently they all have the same icon and are just colored differently.
Stallion  [author] 25 Jul, 2021 @ 7:01am
That's a fair point. I have reverted the tweaks to the vikings factions so this mod will exist as just a color and icon retexture. Thank you for the feedback.
Hyomoto 25 Jul, 2021 @ 6:35am
I would recommend just dropping the vikings tweak. I realize it's your mod, but for compatibility it seems better to have the cartography changes and any faction patches as a separate mod. I can at least attest that this is why I chose to skip it for now. It's not that I think your change is bad, it's just not inline with the stated goal of the mod and kind of calls into question if you will make other tweaks when all a user might want is the improved map readability.
