and a dock on top would be awesome, maybe a smaller version? just experience i have from trying to dock to other subs.

@osopolar624 that's a good idea actually

how do i dock to the long range research sub?
osopolar624 15 Oct, 2021 @ 6:47pm
I feel like there should be a docking hatch on the top. A lot of subs have a docking hatch at the bottom.

ok thank you

Currently, Robert 4, Robert 3, and my Es.1 Long Range Exploration Sub. However, the docking system is pretty simple so it isn't hard to incorporate into other builds.

what sub does this dock to?
ToppHatt 28 Aug, 2021 @ 8:24am
I figured that out just now but thank you for replying to my comment so quickly.

If you're using direct drive mode(where the turbine goes directly to the propellor) you don't have throttle control. To control the throttle, you need to be using the electric motor.
ToppHatt 26 Aug, 2021 @ 3:36pm
For me the throttle is locked to going 30 knots and I cant change how fast it goes, it's making docking with the Robert IV almost impossible.
Yeetlazar 23 Aug, 2021 @ 3:23pm
all good. might i suggest a docking port on the bottom for say your Robert 4? whenever i dock to a side she lists slightly with both thrusters on and doesn't even out until i get another. so putting it on the bottom or top would allow you to have no listing and save space across the beam because the mini sub would be in the conning towers shadow therefor not increasing her height

Yeah, I didn't intend for it to take this long. I got busy IRL and then my PC broke on me, so it took way longer than expected. Will change the description tho.

"you should see x4a in about a week" weeks later.....lol

Ah so thats why i had a reactor power drop. That makes more sense. I wonder if a oneway valve on the output would help. Then the water going in and the pump would work together, but it also could do nothing cause stormworks or even make it worse.

It_aint_me  [author] 30 Jul, 2021 @ 1:24am
Since the steam condenser for the reactor is cooled by pumping in and out seawater directly, the maximum safe depth is my estimation of when the pumps don't have the power to pump out against the water pressure. While it won't cause any instant problems, you could potentially suffer a loss of power if you stayed too deep for too long. But it's mainly just an estimation.

Does the beyond safe depth do anything or nah.

i get what i did wrong i switched my frequency's on the keypad bless my primate brain
FBI party van 29 Jul, 2021 @ 6:50am
i did that and it didn't work
It_aint_me  [author] 28 Jul, 2021 @ 10:13pm
You set the receive channel frequency on the keypad by the map monitor to whatever you’ve set the broadcast channel frequency as on the submarine you’re looking for.
FBI party van 28 Jul, 2021 @ 7:37pm
how do you use the sub locator
Yeetlazar 28 Jul, 2021 @ 5:56am
amazing!!!
Geck 27 Jul, 2021 @ 11:57am
just so Robert IV can turn 360 degrees on the spot
Geck 27 Jul, 2021 @ 11:56am
that should work well, if your gonna add this one addition i think could be cool is some stationary turning moters, Robert IV is hard to turn when going slow of surfaced
It_aint_me  [author] 27 Jul, 2021 @ 11:38am
When moving forwards, the roll stabilizer on robert 4 should be powerful enough to correct, but as for being stationary getting the balance down can be tricky. I should probably add a stationary roll stabilizer to Robert 4, that would fix the issue.
Geck 27 Jul, 2021 @ 10:38am
the leaning would not be a problem normaly but because of the stationary depth hold being angled to the side it slowly starts to move sideways
Geck 27 Jul, 2021 @ 10:37am
its great, does what it says above, only issues ive had is when only 1 is docked the Robert IV will lean to the side its on, any fixes to this? screen shots you shown did not show it listing at all
