I really love this mod! It is the only one that I have found that adds a pet that can get into combat with your party. I like Lir's model and art style because it goes well with the Wildermyth art theme. However, I do have a critique. So I noticed when Lir enters combat it seems like he has max vision range. Like you can see everything that is not blocked by a wall, a door, or hard cover for example. Is this something you would be able to fix? It's a bit game breaking because the fog of war is essentially removed with him on the field.

have a glitch where Lir stopped moving during an escape mission and has softlocked my game? any suggestions?

Any chance you could look into a bite ability that can be assigned to characters? ^^
Without requiring a wolf's head, would be nice to create vampire characters and stuff haha

In response to Eothorn and Popemaster:

The armour seen in the screenshot is part of a mod I made as a gift to my girlfriend, I haven't poked the game in quite a while so unfortunately I can't promise it'll be released, if I do come back to this game, I did start work on some armour skins that could synergize with other armour mods.

Unsubbed and resubbed to force the update, it works now! It's a good thing you took the time to fix this despite not being active, now people will get to experience your work in full :)

Alright, alright! The text issue should be fixed now methinks. For some context as to why it took so long, I've been doing other stuff. Had burned myself out on Wildermyth modding (Not that anything other than this mod had released)

And the insights of several people in the comments rang true, en_GB is what I play on and it's not even supported so if I come back to Wildermyth modding, it will no longer be a problem because I'll be abiding by the English 'cross the sea.

Sorry for the wait.

If the issue persists, I think Steam is slow on updating mods and if updating the mod doesn't fix it then I've obviously failed again, in which case, let me know!

Hi,

this is a really cool mod, I love the idea, implementation and artwork (though gameplaywise as an immortalish pet I do feel Lir is overpowered).

I had the same text/language issue on my event pack, and it is (probably) exactly as Parsley Magnet says. It is also (probably) an easy fix, you only need to change the "PROPERTIES Files" file names in assets > text > aspects/effects/story/etc to NOT have the "_en_GB" (or any other tag you have there). This should make the text files source language and visible to all (the game treats en_GB (and other languages) as a translated language but for some reason assigns it as system default to (probably) European systems.
You can change your language in the options, and in the future, the correct language in the Comic Editor should say editing: SOURCE in the top.

I may have found the issue causing the "no text" glitch. It looks like it's just a missing localization. I'm playing on en_US, and most of the files in the text folder (which I was looking through to figure out how the event works) say "en_GB" on them. I bet the reason you, the author, cant replicate it is because your system is set to en_GB, while those of us having the issue are on en_US (or other languages).

I just tried a game without any other mods active, and the text problem was still there. The name of the Lir event was listed as **Houndmaster_loyalGuardian.name , and none of the comic panels had any text on them, including the ones that gave the choices for what to do. (I accidentally picked the one that released the dog for three Legacy Points, so I can't say what the ability options would have been.)

I don't know if it's relevant, but I'm using the OSX version of the game. That may or may not have anything to do with it.

Can't for the life of me recreate this text error unfortunately, I theorise it could be a conflict with another mod? Stumped

I tried this out, and got the same error where the text wouldn't show. The button for giving Lir a command also had what looked like a localization reference string on it. From what I know about modding, it's possible you've got your text file named wrong or in the wrong place, maybe?

I also have the "no text" error so I've never actually seen any of the dialogue for this event. Lir is still very cool, though! Thanks for making this!

I had a weird error when the event spawned where none of the text boxes would show up for the event at all making it kinda hard to tell what was going on? Is there any fix for this?

Sounds good, I'll do that when I start a new campaign. I am currently on chapter 1 of a 5 chapter campaign right now, so it might be a few days. Will let you know.

@Jaggid Edje I'll look into it further but the issue's fixed on the latest version on my end! Try unsubbing and re-subbing possibly? I know steam's a bit weird with mods on this game sometimes. Will troubleshoot though, thank you for the feedback!

The lir.howl ability still sometimes shows up in the list of ability options for my warriors when they level up, even since the last update.
