I mean having two options is always nice but fair enough, I'll make my own mod

uhm, no sorry. This mod has had the 'more realistic' values, and then some real life curves couldn't be made.

Hi, I've made an update to this which updates the curve radii to be more realistic, can I upload it (would give full credit and link to this page)
TKR  [author] 27 Aug, 2024 @ 6:15am
sure, go ahead :)
mranderson 26 Aug, 2024 @ 10:26am
Hey TKR, I made myself a local track mod at the FRA standards of track speed and used textures from this pack. I wanted to get your permission to upload them to the workshop for other players, with credit of course!
TKR  [author] 14 Apr, 2024 @ 3:43am
thanks for letting me know, fixed it :)

Found a missing viaduct texture, for real this time :(
It's specifically for the 90 km/h track in a branch segment. By looking at the mod files, i think the issue is at line 566, where the blueprint_branch TrackMode is declared as built_branch instead
deshbeta 15 Feb, 2024 @ 11:40am
Nope. The game (or me accidentally) disabled all +1 textures lol
Thanks anyways for the fast response and your work!
TKR  [author] 14 Feb, 2024 @ 11:52am
I don't have that issue here.. Perhaps you have another mod interfering with mine?
deshbeta 14 Feb, 2024 @ 10:06am
Viaduct textures are missing atm. Is this a mod bug?

The next version of the game (1.5) will allow you to set speeds manually on a track in game.
dennis88titanic 18 Aug, 2022 @ 7:53am
can you add 180 km/h? i'm missing it

For tilting trains this wouldn't make sense as the speed can be adjusted to lower speeds through checkpoints but not increased from the max speed (as it is adjusted for non-tilting trains).

Besides that, I think the update overall is good, I like realism and wouldn't revert it, but given hpw complicated it is to change the entire network for now, as fixed schedules will only be possible in 1.5 (and thus I have a lot of 4-tracked parts to not make IC trains wait for local trains everywhere, so in many places the network is crammed), the update came just too early for my taste.

And with older trains the driver had a specific course book that told him how fast he was allowed maximum to go at specific parts of his route. He then was told for example that from km 232.5 to 233.5 he had to go down from speed 16 to speed 13 - which was a curve. Meanwhile a train like a 612 might go through that curve with 150 km/h because of tilting.
sascha.pascal 27 May, 2022 @ 5:17pm
By the way, you know that the max speeds they show on the tracks are NOT always the real ones? Yes, they write "160 km/h" on it, but it depends on the train type if a specific curve can be driven by the assigned speed. In modern trains the train will tell the driver how fast he is allowed to take a specific curve, even if the max-speed of the whole track segment is higher.

The 120 - 200 kmh curve radius are now based on NS values. So it shouldn't get any more correct than this.
Recreating this specific curve myself I get speeds ranging from 105-115 in that curve. You can easily wiggle it to be 110.
Thepolwoman 27 May, 2022 @ 3:24am
Some of the max speeds now tend to go even lower than what is realistic: one example is how at Harderwijk (NL) I need to make the curves different from the IRL situation, because in the accurate curve trains can no longer reach 110kph which is the IRL max speed in that curve.
sascha.pascal 27 May, 2022 @ 2:59am
The reason is simply that TKR has changed the curve speeds to a now accurate level. The levels were formerly too high, because we needed high curve speeds because otherwise the map was too big and it would have taken long to accelerate again after a curve. Now with the smaller map (I don't know if you have realized it, but the map in Europe is 1.7 times smaller) we can have more accurate speeds and still follow the "real time tables" :D
Thepolwoman 27 May, 2022 @ 12:31am
It always worked well in 1.4 but since the newest update (1.4.21) the speeds in curves tend to be messed up (usually much lower and when having speeds rounded in curves to e.g. 90, 100, 110 when using a higher baseline speed, they no longer are). What may be the cause of this? Is this an error of the update itself, has it to do with how the newest version interacts with mods or has something changed in this mod itself? To add to this: it has really messed up with a big savefile (>3000km of track and 450 stations)
BrokenButler 9 Mar, 2022 @ 1:25pm
Could you add more steps in between? like 80, 70, 110, 150, 30, 50 (or simply in 10km/h steps?)
xsrvmy 25 Feb, 2022 @ 11:31pm
I wonder if you should raise the 320 limit to 350 for CR400? Or do those trains actually only run at 320 in tunnels?
TKR  [author] 11 Aug, 2021 @ 6:41am
Thanks, I'm glad you like them!

This is fantastic! I am using some of these for rural branch lines and other different kinds of line
