Although making this work for Epitaphs does sound interesting....
Are there any plans for a clipboard update for other text bodies like the name, nickname, epitaphs and all that? Would be useful there, too.
Thank you very much
but it doesn't matter, it's always better to have a mod on watch and update than to be obsolete.
in a great mod
No necesitas empezar campaña nueva.
this mod will recieve an update at some point later today. This update will reset the config. Please ensure you backup and compare changes you have made!
It would be sweet if it somehow could refresh in-game, but still, this is a great mod.
Still, this is a wonderful mod that finally makes me actually want to write biographies in the game! :)
We have fun in the XCOM community!
I think I covered all your stuff that you asked me to adjust, but please guys refer all actual questions to the mod author.
Just delete the example ones.
Put \n\n for formatting like an enter key on your keyboard. Here's and example ~ ", Bio="Country of Origin:Canada\n\nDate of Birth:2/28/98\n\nJoe Smuck was a...") ~
And copy paste the first command I showed above below the first one you put down. Then just fill out the information. Or you could just edit that one after you use it...
BUT THERE ARE SOME CAVEATS!!! (IMPORTANT STUFF NOW!)
You must relaunch *THE ENTIRE GAME* for the Bios to show up! They will NOT SHOW UP if your typing them while the game is loaded and then saving the file, Once you relaunch the game the Load Bio button will have color and then it will work. Keep this in mind if your typing out a lot of info!
Also make sure to back up your config file if you need to, just copy paste it somewhere else!
My *suggestion* is if you are in a hurry to just do this. (if your not follow steps above)
ALSO DO NOT USE the - > ( " ) *Quote Symbol* in your bios IT MAKES IT STOP the rest of the bio EVEN IF YOUR UNDER 3000 SO DON'T USE IT
As for ( ' ) symbol try not to use it in the first couple of words as it may cause issues.
This has me so ... confused, lol
Also if you really want to use the doublequote symbol you can do that too, put a \ before it and it'll work fine. You can also use any other html codes & escape characters you want, and even use <font> tags.
If you have an issue with the mod description above, please just state that instead of this subtle-passive-aggressive-insult. Thankyou :) :)
Can be opened and edited with Notepad++ or VSCode
search for [Soldier X2CharacterTemplate]
Unfortunately getting an Export button was past my knowledge right now and it was severely delaying the release of the mod, so I put this out there with that as the first update I want to do. Please see the first line of the "Known Issues" section.
There is already a mod that lets you pull a -random- bio, including from mods like Even More Backstories see this mod here and the last button in its panel :)
This would add utility for mods which add backstories and character pools, where the user can extract a bio they really like without laborious copying (as Dragon32 described).
My dream would be to see a 'randomize' button which, ignoring/keeping the current soldier name, randomly pulls a story from a WOTC Even More Backstories config variant.
i am not kind- never were, ask my daughters, if they wanna set me up, they call me kind, and then the shit goes around:) honour to whom honour goes, and so to you for this addition;)
@Supergirly .. Thankyou, for helping me in testing that it works :)
