@Metalwolf Thanks for playing! I made a slightly newer version that uses doom textures and stuff. I dont recall if i ever changed the sounds, but feel free to check that one out

you used two sound for doors one loud and one that sounds like a neumatic piston, you should use the second in all doors, also, adjust the map image, it just doesnt fit. but the map is fun

I didn't realize how much people cared! Havent played CSGO in quite some time, so Im not too too sure as to what doors/stuff i should specifically change to make it better, But you definently got me thinking

it's a good map, but it's annoying how loud all the door opening sounds are, could you lower the volume on the door sounds a little bit?

When i made this map, i didnt know how to import textures or sounds. If i update it, ill remove many of the doors, and ill try to import actual Doom Textures and Sound effects

De_Doom is an interesting attempt at recreating a lawyer-friendly collage of Doom's maps for CSGO's playstyle, and it works pretty well in Deathmatch. Classic is atrocious and shouldn't have even been bothered with. The texturing is absolutely awful, though. The map needs a lot more color; perhaps the author should get permission from the Freedoom team to use their textures?

However, what killed this map for me was the doors. My God, the doors. The doors plague the entire map and they slow the map to a crawl. The sound effect is ear-piercingly awful! The Doom door clip can be bought for a buck from Sound Ideas or borrowed from Per Kristian!

I spent years lurking the Doom community, and DM-101 is that you never make the player stop for any circumstance. 99% of the doors can be removed, and the few that can stay can be automated. If the author tweaked the doors, the monotone textures, and the unscaled minimap, then this would be well worth your subscription.

Seamless textures are great ingame because you can re use them for a lot of different things because they tile up perfectly

It depends you can try looking for some seamless wall textures, in that case you can tile them up as many times as you want and if the texture is done well it should tile up perfectly wether its a 2x2 or 8x8.

I wasn't really advertising, I just have as part of my signature. As for your problem with wall textures.. you can look into trying to tile different textures to different sizes that way sometimes a texture that isn't made for a wall can be stretched and it looks ok to use afterwards.

Look for UV tiling options for the textures.

@Blutarch Is the Walrus i tried to use many different wall textures for each room, but i see what you mean, like have less repeating wall textures in a room, the only problem with this is that source doesnt always have a good matching texture for every wall texture, and even if i knew how to import textures, i couldnt really make good HD wall textures on my own. As for lowering the ceiling, thats not really a possabilaty, doom had higher ceilings quite often in the game, and i prefer the higher ceilings

Looks like it could have some potential, I definitely notice the doom feel in the level design, all that there is missing is monsters in every corner haha!
