It doesnt work in multiplayer, hopefully it gets fixed soon, this is one of my favorite mods.

Hello, thanks for the fix, for me its working in singleplayer.
For multiplayer, unfortunatelly, the beam doesnt' do any damage to blocks.

Hey, so I have been having an issue with 2cm in multiplayer. Recently (as in this bug was just found today), passing a beam through an active emitter block causes an instant crash (fatal server side).

fun thing you can do since automation: have static Ion cannon facility just aim upwards, have single or more drones with singular combiner in the way of beam setup by coordinates, aim at what you wish to destroy and play C&C alert: "Warning, Ion Cannon detected" in every base in radius. Only limitation is your imagination and render distance

this mod always passed through shields, but the damage was still absorbed, I was looking at the W.C mod tutorial... I think a simplified 2cm mod could be made using a W.C compatable ammo generator, which would produce "Laser watts" for lack of better description, then using the normal conveyor system transfer it to a "Beam Caster" which would store laser watts and use them when powered on, and use MORE when fired... the amount stored times a multiplier for damage and heat would equate to the damage done per sim tick and the rate of over heating (which appears to be a necessity for W.C)... the more ammo generators you had, the more you could maintain the "laser watts" in storage and the more the weapon can sustain fire... once this proof was setup, then modelers could tackle making the meshes look pretty...

I just gave this a go and everything seems in order except it completely bypasses WC Defense shields, The Energy shield mod blocks it just fine, tho this beam system is a bit op, why I like it.

So far, I cant recreate any of the crashes myself. I might have to rebuild this mod from the ground up on weapon core

Looks like it broke with Automatons, getting an instant crash to desktop whenever I try to BP / copy a grid with any beam parts on it

This mod still works atm, but multiplayer is a bit buggy with it. We still managed to shoot eachother with it.

I found LaserImpactRadiusMultiplier but increasing the value doesn't show a change.

And which file declares the front of each laser block for where the beam comes out?

@Forsakener I'm playing around in the settings trying get more potential cinematic destruction out of the laser. I'm not looking for game balance. But as I turn the damage up I'm not seeing any radial destruction to surrounding blocks apart from the deformation. Is there an option in the settings for adding a radius of destruction to the point of impact? Maybe two blocks around?

@Setrakian try a row of "combiners" with all their arrows facing the same direction feeding into a capacitor with the arrow facing the same direction. Around the combiners add the generators feeding into them. At default settings for this mod you'll need a lot of them for the capacitor to fill up in a hurry. Use a reactor to power the generators. Turn the slider on all the generators up. I put the generators in a group so I can switch the generators on and off as my trigger.

So, to get this mod working where it will be stable and easier to maintain, I am going to have to learn the coding and weaponcore. Port it to weapon core and pretty much rewrite it. I am by no means skilled in coding. So it will be some time if I work alone.
