Better Moodle Colors

Is this compatible with plain moodles?
Karleigh 6 Feb, 2023 @ 12:23am
the moodles fill up with various colors the worse they are or the better they are, so a full pain moodle would be solid red
Smiley Face Killer 5 Feb, 2023 @ 5:37pm
Are the moodles supposed to be like blacked out often times? Like the pain moodle is now the pain face but with a blacked out background, I mean its nothing like the shown one here, and if that's not how it's supposed to be how do I fix this? I have the mod enabled in the main menu
TheHourMan  [author] 2 Dec, 2022 @ 3:07pm
Yes, you need to have it enabled from the main menu and then restart the game before it will work.
RobRendell 1 Dec, 2022 @ 11:55pm
This mod stopped working for my single-player game after I turned off all my mods for an unrelated reason. I eventually worked out how to get it working again. It only seems to work for me if it's enabled as one of my default mods (i.e. the ones that are enabled from the main menu "Mods" menu option), and doesn't work if it's only enabled in your game save file. So, enable it in both Mods and for the save, and then restart PZ.

You could just manually overwrite the ui file with the one in the mod folder if you want to bypass the in-game menu
Texugo do Mel 30 Mar, 2022 @ 2:25pm
btw is also not working anymore
Texugo do Mel 30 Mar, 2022 @ 2:23pm
can u please make a version that u dont need to turn on in the mod section? the old version dat overrides the game is awesome lol
TheHourMan  [author] 13 Feb, 2022 @ 5:22pm
Thank you for all of the feedback everyone. I love that it is improving your experience in this already amazing game. I will try to find the time to investigate the issues listed. Sorry I haven't had much time to really get into modding lately. I've been full on work irl.
TheHourMan  [author] 13 Feb, 2022 @ 5:19pm
@exlesnick, chill. There's no need to be so dramatic. I took a 2 week break. This mod is working perfectly fine for me and it seems to be working for most other people with the exception of those who have the colors not showing. I'm not sure exactly what's causing it with them, but it seems to be a problem that's not being caused by the mod itself. Try verifying your files, subbing, then enabling the mod and relaunching the game.
Karleigh 10 Feb, 2022 @ 6:05pm
i like this one myself it looks really nice
G-t01l3t. 10 Feb, 2022 @ 6:02pm
I'm just gonna say real quick i tested both versions, high contrast and this version, both work.

EXCEPTIONALLY SO.

I'm gonna post pics later but this is definitely one of the best mods on the workshop.

No UI-Clutter added and adds information that people use that 'Display Bars' mod for - which I don't use cause of the clutter.
G-t01l3t. 10 Feb, 2022 @ 1:53pm
@Karleigh Did you try HourMan's 'High Contrast' ver of this same mod?

If you did, which did you like better :Thedead:
Karleigh 9 Feb, 2022 @ 9:10pm
im playing the lastest version in mp and added the mod in the middle of the mp game, also to the moodles have a black background that slowly fill with a color that changes based on how bad the moodle is at i know what im looking at and i know it works
FennecGamer 9 Feb, 2022 @ 6:10pm
Yes, the mod is not functional in the latest version. You must've never updated, @Karleigh.
Daevinski 8 Feb, 2022 @ 5:43am
@Karleigh The mods is not working properly. I remember it working as expected, with full colored background and etc before the MP update... but now is not fully working. Multiple people already reported similar issues, btw.

I don't know, maybe you started using the mod after the MP updates, so you think it's everything alright... but the mod is simply not working as it used to.
exlesnick 2 Feb, 2022 @ 10:52pm
You know? I'm really glad this mod is working to you, this is a great mod, but fun thing is if i wouldn't be sure this is a problem is on my end and mod is not why blame - I WOULDN'T GO TO THE COMMENT SECTION AND WOULDN'T REPORT A BUG!
Karleigh 2 Feb, 2022 @ 10:16pm
Well it works for me, im done trying to help you, and i also added this to a save i was using.
p.s. no one called you stupid also dont blame the mod or the mod author when the problem is on your end
exlesnick 2 Feb, 2022 @ 10:07pm
I didn't' "add it into my current save", i start new save this just this mod. More so i checked console.txt to be sure ONLY this mod is active so don't think i'm that stupid.
Mod IS broken. And again: end of discussion.
Karleigh 2 Feb, 2022 @ 5:40pm
did you enable the mod in the main menu and then add it into your current save too?
exlesnick 2 Feb, 2022 @ 2:17am
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2740028162
Clean game, ONLY this mod is active and it's not working on 41.65 (SP)
End of discussion, if mod autor don't care, me neither...
Karleigh 1 Feb, 2022 @ 3:29pm
i dont think people are looking at the moodles from this mod right or just dont understand how they work everything worksd just fine for me,also obviously its not compatible with anything that changes the moodles ui file, and its suppost to have a black background that fills up with a color changing based on how bad or good the moodle is at
Daevinski 1 Feb, 2022 @ 1:42pm
The mod seems a bit weird here too. Here in the mod page's main image I can see there are two shades of the same color in the background, but in-game I can only see one shade growing and filling a black background. In some moodles (the "encumbered" one, for example) the background don't even seem to change or move, I can only see a small portion of one of the color shades.

By the way, I'm using the Mod Manager mod by NoctisFalco and I have your mod being loaded at the bottom of my list, with just some other mods not related to UI below it, just in case.
exlesnick 31 Jan, 2022 @ 10:55am
lame...
TheHourMan  [author] 22 Jan, 2022 @ 11:04pm
Thank you :) I appreciate it
Karleigh 22 Jan, 2022 @ 10:16pm
Now that ive seen how this works and that it tells you how filled something is ive given it the "gotta have it" award
TheHourMan  [author] 22 Jan, 2022 @ 4:49pm
Yep, that's what I made it for. It was hard for me to tell the difference between hungry and starving, so I made this.
Karleigh 22 Jan, 2022 @ 4:20pm
oh thats nice this is just what i was looking for thanks
TheHourMan  [author] 22 Jan, 2022 @ 12:50pm
Yes, it already does that. Blue is full, green for well fed, yellow for hungry, red for starving. This is true for all moodles.
Karleigh 22 Jan, 2022 @ 11:46am
I was wondering if its possible to make the moodles change color base on say how hungry you are, green for full, yellow for hungry and red for starving
exlesnick 22 Jan, 2022 @ 11:04am
Already did it, even whipped out entire 108600 folder. same result.
TheHourMan  [author] 22 Jan, 2022 @ 10:15am
Try unsubbing, resubbing, then enabling it in the mod menu, then relaunch the game. That should fix it.
exlesnick 22 Jan, 2022 @ 3:33am
Broken to me. Moodle background color is just black.
TheHourMan  [author] 12 Jan, 2022 @ 5:38am
Also if you are trying it under an already existing save, you have to enable it in that particular save when you hit load. This applies to all mods.
TheHourMan  [author] 12 Jan, 2022 @ 5:38am
You have to enable it in the main menu under mods, then close the game and open it again. This goes for all mods which change the UI texture files.
Stellar Harbour 11 Jan, 2022 @ 10:36pm
Ok, I tested by myself and it not working for me, they still green and red, don't see any difference
TheHourMan  [author] 4 Jan, 2022 @ 5:05pm
That was the past version. I suppose I could remake it as a seperate mod.
Aulvarin Nox 4 Jan, 2022 @ 1:15am
is it possible to get a version that is just the colors?
TheHourMan  [author] 3 Jan, 2022 @ 4:55pm
It's good. I got busy the past couple days but I haven't forgotten to get those screencaps
Stellar Harbour 3 Jan, 2022 @ 1:42am
How it's going?
TheHourMan  [author] 2 Jan, 2022 @ 5:07pm
Yes, and just the client needs it. If you enable it on your server, it will download for everyone, but the clients who want to use it need to have it enabled in their main menu too.
Monke 2 Jan, 2022 @ 3:51pm
Does this work on multiplayer? If so, does the server need the mod or just the client?
Stellar Harbour 31 Dec, 2021 @ 4:32pm
Nice
TheHourMan  [author] 31 Dec, 2021 @ 4:22pm
Yeah I could do that. I will then, tomorrow. I just now released an update that makes it easier for colorblind players to see whether a trait is positive or negative
Stellar Harbour 31 Dec, 2021 @ 4:06pm
Or even better make full compilation with vanilla ones and modded on one picture
TheHourMan  [author] 31 Dec, 2021 @ 4:04pm
I will show what they look like in-game tomorrow
Stellar Harbour 31 Dec, 2021 @ 3:12pm
Can you add comparison screenshots?
TheHourMan  [author] 30 Dec, 2021 @ 9:01am
Blue is only for positive effects.

The vanilla moodles might be fine to you, but I have an astigmatism and it's difficult to tell how severe one they are. The bored, depressed, and tired icons all look virtually the same too, so it really helps to make them look more distinct so I don't have to mouse over them.
Gashimahiron 30 Dec, 2021 @ 1:49am
Always thought the vanilla moodlets were fine, so to me, this mod is a solution looking for a problem HOWEVER, i really like blue in general, and the blue hunger icon is tempting me to give this one a try!
TheHourMan  [author] 23 Sep, 2021 @ 5:15pm
@p6kocka No. This is not possible right now but the devs intend to make the ui elements scaleable via the options menu.
