Lol, Can we run it just BARLEY from death temp without exploding?
qwerty_gaming 23 Sep, 2024 @ 7:44pm
Lol when will the LMR-5990 coming? (fake name for the big one)
NoNameIdk1 14 Aug, 2024 @ 3:10pm
How many control rods and fuel rods does this have?

I've uploaded a fixed version until the creator updates the original (thanks to kadeg3 for the fix), here's the link:

GuggenHeim and any others looking for a fix. Kadeg3 when talking about the threshold meant the one set at "9.25". It should be directly on top of another one which is at 8.5. Set the 9.35 to 175! Hope this helps
slar7ibartfast 19 Apr, 2024 @ 1:11pm
kadeg, your fix appears to be working for me - thank you very much!
losev_vasiliy 29 Mar, 2024 @ 12:27am
А как его запустить он у меня не работает
guggenheim 23 Mar, 2024 @ 12:17pm
Which of the threshold gates should I change kadeg?
kadeg3 19 Mar, 2024 @ 6:32pm
Love these so much but I think the most recent update has broken something. I'll dig in to see if I can find out why and post update if I find it.

Update: Something has changed where the boiler pressure starts at 175 instead of something lower than 9.25 to let logic gates activate the reactor. I still have to figure out the boiler pumps but I've got the system to activate but not produce electricity.

Update 2: Inside the "msr reactor control" microcontroller add 167 to the four constant number logic nodes at the top group of nodes along the left side that are plugged into the greater/less than nodes. Change the threshold gate in the bottom group of nodes close to bottom left that has the channel 11 composite read plugged into it to 175. Not sure if this is a permanent fix but it seems to be stable from my testing while we wait for Keptin to update.

Hey, Can I use this in a submarine recreation of the USS Georgia submarine?

i would just like to add after all of the updates it has had my reactor takes forever to generate electrierty. if you no please respond.
Spriteconsumer879 2 Oct, 2023 @ 9:53am
when i give it water it keeps saying reactor water -6
Hyredcryx 31 Jul, 2023 @ 3:11am
Is it fine if I use this for my creation? I'll credit you of course
The Nameless 27 Jul, 2023 @ 11:10am
Sooo, does this need some kind of steam power system to produce electricity? I can't just erase the engines from a diesel-electric ship and put this in their place?
Salmon 24 Mar, 2023 @ 12:33am
Wouldn't this be 466 kW not 4.66 MW
Li8ertyW4lker 10 Mar, 2023 @ 1:46am
Do someone else have the proplem with it Just turning Off after some time? i can simply Turn it on again but i only want it to Turn Off when i want to
ryangoslinglover306 20 Jan, 2023 @ 12:13pm
heyyyy, howd you find howd you figure out how much KW this puts out?
Rufus Shinra 29 Nov, 2022 @ 2:15pm
@CosmoMomen: could you indicate me what function or number is to be adjusted? I'm using this reactor and seeing this issue myself, so if I could fix it on my side, it'd help a lot, thanks!
CosmoMomen 7 Nov, 2022 @ 10:36pm
Adjust the function before the control rod output and scale the number down until the center fuel rod stays below 300*. If not the boiler will lose temp after time, or if running in the arctic. Solid reactor otherwise
DorothyVivian 10 Aug, 2022 @ 2:01pm
Is this for powering a ships propulltion, or a ships power?
technophant 2 Jul, 2022 @ 8:02pm
This has a major flaw. All controls and pumps run off two small batteries. While there is a battery charger component, it does not charge and soon the screens will grow dim and maybe disaster.

Thank you so much for these reactors! I use the MMR-4660 on many of my larger vessels
Keptin  [author] 29 Apr, 2022 @ 8:58pm
@thechort That's awesome man, thanks for taking care of that for the community, I appreciate it! I've finally been playing some SW again and have updated the MMR with your fix!
thechort 18 Mar, 2022 @ 8:29pm
Keptin I've fixed your reactor. Feel free update your workshop item with it and adjust to your liking later so everyone gets the fix.

Zackmar 11 Mar, 2022 @ 4:58am
Did anyone figure out how to fix this reactor? I had a whole submarine designed around this reactor and I really don't know how to fix it at this point :(
Ravic 11 Mar, 2022 @ 2:42am
Chessie is right.
But the "Pressure release valve" output is connected to a NOT logic as well, and also there is a pump next to the valve, which is disconnected also.
So how exactly should be the valve and the pump wired?

I've tried a couple of combinations, but the bolier exploded every time.
MarshallSantini 5 Feb, 2022 @ 8:41pm
Will these by chance be updated? Due to the update that involved boilers, they now explode. I love these reactors and hope to continue being able to use them!
Chessie Computer 1 Feb, 2022 @ 6:04pm
The problem is the valve on the top got unwired from the pressure relief output on the controller. Just reconnect that and it should work.
Deranged Roomba 26 Jan, 2022 @ 1:18pm
it seems the devs have changed something about steam/boilers. yours worked for me for a long time, but they explode now. i'm not sure whats wrong
KaraHtanut 25 Jan, 2022 @ 5:04am
Yeah Reactor boiler is having troubles.
AcePainter 23 Jan, 2022 @ 8:58pm
is there anyway to refuel the reactor?
Gustainis 20 Jan, 2022 @ 3:41am
its a good reactor but boiler explodes for me
Witgang 9 Jan, 2022 @ 1:40am
Neither of your reactors work for me. Been trying to get them to work. They either explode or when im on the cusp of figuring out the boiler pressure issue the reactor disengages the rods and ruin my tests. Been trying to reverse engineer it so i can get a working reactor that has great power but i have no idea how you get the immense power.

Turtleman1000 16 Oct, 2021 @ 6:05am
I wonder if there will be a LMR of some sort
Sheppard 16 Oct, 2021 @ 1:34am
i am really new to this, eeehm how do i use it to get my ship moved :D
Husmus 14 Oct, 2021 @ 7:47am
may we get a larger one in the future aswell?
Keptin  [author] 7 Oct, 2021 @ 8:05pm
Yep, that's the reactor working normally. I assumed that was how nuclear fuel works, with it gradually producing less power over a duration, but I could be wrong.
Absolarix 7 Oct, 2021 @ 7:59pm
Hey Kep, we have a couple of these running electric motors in a boat. The temp and generator bars is gradually go down at a consistent rate under consistent load, hovering very close to the yellow bar. Is this normal?
THE ONE AND ONLY COLD 10 Sep, 2021 @ 6:52am
@Blonde Jesus What i did was move the generator out of the reactor and put it say on top or so, you can then just re-connect all the logic and pipes, once your done that you can just grab a T-pipe off the pipe going to the generator and put a clutch on the end of that, thennn lead that to your drive shaft (Make sure its before your gearbox). Don't know if that's confusing or not..
Budi Ulunjandi 31 Aug, 2021 @ 2:46am
Hey this is so cool and look forward to messing around with it,, just out of intrest how do you actually hook this up to a ships power train?? As well as the power supply? thanks
Vitus 22 Aug, 2021 @ 3:34am
ooooooh, so that's the trick! Once again, screwed up SW physics ftw. Devs should really take some classes :steamhappy:

Thanks for the answer - I now get ~1100 (Watts?) out of the generators. Still ridiculous for a nuclear power plant, but at least I get my ship moving!
Keptin  [author] 21 Aug, 2021 @ 8:45am
@Vitus, I haven't yet, and clearly there's much more power to be squeezed out of it, with DonnerGrad just releasing a new ISO container reactor that has 8000 power output. I hate that it comes down to how many flywheels you can slap on, and that 0.5 clutch-to-generator trick, but that's Stormworks for ya.
Thedoye 21 Aug, 2021 @ 8:12am
I'm definitely not trying to make this blow up
Vitus 21 Aug, 2021 @ 3:55am
Hey Keptin! Well designed machinery! Have you managed to get a similar high output with a more proper 2-cycle system as well? You know, where the water from the reactor is only used to heat up the water of the secondary cycle in the boiler?
I am trying to power a rather big ship using nuclear, but even with 6 boilers and 12 turbines I won't get enough power to run a few large electric motors.
Keptin  [author] 20 Aug, 2021 @ 10:44pm
That's the magic of Stormworks
EKS 20 Aug, 2021 @ 4:24pm
Is using a clutch at 0.5 a bug or did i miss something. Why is that giving almost 10x poweroutput?
