Panzerkampfwagen, one word consisting of 3 separate words as that is how the German language makes new words, just take preexisting words and combine them. Panzer = Armor, Kampf = Fight, Wagen = Car. Shortened to Panzer for simplicity's sake and Panzer alone has come to mean Tank. The name of the vehicle itself is Tiger.

If anyone wonders what PzKpfw weans, it's Panzer Kampf Wagon, Panzer being the name of the Tank, Kampf means struggle in German, and wagon meaning vehicle or land vehicle.
