Hidden Vanity

The back slot thing doesn't work for removing hallowed armor cape, so it might be a resource pack thing.
TheSauceGuy 28 Jan @ 2:28pm
Whatever works for you, I'm thankful for the mod as it is, but I welcome any more additions like that.
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 23 Jan @ 11:51am
I could make this automatic but with some mods it would still not work so you'd have to use config
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 23 Jan @ 11:51am
To hide the cloak you have to toggle the "Back" slot in the config
TheSauceGuy 23 Jan @ 10:41am
Thank you for the fast response as well.
TheSauceGuy 23 Jan @ 10:41am
It's a relatively small thing, but would be nice. I'm unsure if others have this issue, but some outfits with cloaks don't have the cloaks hidden with the rest of the armor. I have the hallowed set in my vanity slot with adamantite in regular, but the cloak is still visible for whatever reason. It also hides the cloak when it's in the main slot.
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 23 Jan @ 10:00am
It would be possible but I haven't found the time yet, and not sure how it would work with the existing config, especially for other players.
TheSauceGuy 23 Jan @ 9:17am
Would it be possible to add the little eye visibility button to armors or just all vanity in general? There is a mod that does this but it doesn't cover the actual vanity armors. With the three different loadout presets I get (idk if it's part of Calamity or something else), I would like to hide the vanity sets on some, but not all of them.
Fish-Shaped Crackers 24 Dec, 2024 @ 11:57am
yeah mb i didnt test the mod beforehand i just looked at the config, dye is visible on every part of their character even with vanity off which is exactly how i want it cuz im running a pvp world and i want teams to be recognizable even if you hide vanity
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 24 Dec, 2024 @ 1:23am
I'm testing it, and dye applies to the accessory they have equipped in the functional slot (if the eye is toggled on), so it works as intended. I'm not sure what you mean by "dye to be visible but not vanity", when the dye only works if it's applied to a visible equip
Fish-Shaped Crackers 23 Dec, 2024 @ 11:53am
why is there no option to enable / disable dye? I want dye to be visible but not the enemies vanity
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 7 Sep, 2024 @ 5:50am
No, it doesn't
ShadicD20 7 Sep, 2024 @ 1:59am
Do you still get the fire trail from Flame Walker Boots/Helfire Treads?

Absolutely perfect, the configs are amazing, you can look exactly as you wish. For anyone saying this mod is useless, you're wrong, ESPECIALLY if you use antisocial. Thank you so much amazing mod person!
caydemlebahtiyar 3 Mar, 2024 @ 7:58am
thank you bruv, this needs to be implemented into the game since we keep other accessories in socials to swap
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 15 Dec, 2023 @ 2:07pm
This mod also allows you to hide vanity of other players at will, without them doing anything. You wouldn't be able to do that with slots
eliceyyy_! 15 Dec, 2023 @ 1:59pm
...why wouldn't you just add another group of slots for quick switching???????????????
Kanaris 30 Sep, 2023 @ 6:47am
Would it be possible for you to prevent sounds from armour sets in vanity slots? For example, wearing frost armour set in your vanity slots currently makes an ice smashing sound whenever you take a hit, no matter what armour you're actually using.
plzdont4get 1 Sep, 2023 @ 11:34pm
Thanks a lot for this, I only use vanity slots to quickly swap out armor and now my appearance matches the set I'm wearing. Major QoL improvement
(Gk) Erasels 20 Aug, 2023 @ 9:41am
Another great use is if you're using antisocial. Character looks like a clown otherwise
Kanaris 11 Aug, 2023 @ 1:50am
Sure there is. I have a bunch of alternate accessories and armour pieces I swap in regularly. If I don't use this mod then I see the opposite things to what I'm wearing. Very confusing.
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 10 Aug, 2023 @ 12:56pm
You can hide other player's vanity with it in multiplayer if you want.
dimthedimwit 10 Aug, 2023 @ 12:31pm
is there like any practical use to this? i cant think of any reason youd want to have it for vanity stuff either since you could just.. not wear the vanity you want invisible.
not trying to come off as rude or anything, im just curious if theres anything this mod can be used for because i cant think of anything
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 18 Jul, 2023 @ 10:26am
If none of the toggles in the mod disable it, then I'm afraid there's nothing I can do. You could ask the Infernum devs instead to make their visual tied to an (invisible) EquipType associated with the accessory, and make it only appear if player.<equipslot> == EquipLoader.GetEquipSlot(Mod, <name>, <EquipType>)
Kanaris 18 Jul, 2023 @ 9:58am
Hi there. Thanks for the mod.

I was wondering if it would be reasonable for you to go out of your way to include a particular Infernum Mode accessory in this mod's functionality?

The accessory is "Cherished Sealocket", shown here: https://imgur.com/a/32a4zrd
It's not on the Calamity wiki because it's Infernum-only content, and the Infernum mod is required.

When you haven't taken a hit for 90 seconds it shows a bubble around you. This can be toggled off with the vanilla toggle buttons if the accessory is in an equip slot. However, if it's in a vanity slot then even your mod with everything set to HIDE will not hide the bubble. The bubble will never go away while the accessory is in a vanity slot. You can see how this can be annoying in fights, and the only workaround is to have the accessory in inventory instead -- pain.

I hope it's feasible and wouldn't take too much time!

can you make an option to hide armor in equip slot, not just vanity one
Minecraft Dot Com 28 Jul, 2022 @ 2:21am
Oh, that's fair! Actually, after giving it a shot in my current world it seems like a great mod! I like what it does a lot, it's really easy to handle and does the job well :)
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 28 Jul, 2022 @ 12:41am
I concidered a separate approach to the hiding mechanic which would be similar to how you hide things in the functional equip slots, but for vanity. Sadly that requires alot more effort which I can't spend the time on currently. Maybe in the future
Minecraft Dot Com 27 Jul, 2022 @ 2:45pm
Love the idea of this! It seems incredibly useful, but I was wondering - Is there any way you could add options on the config menu to disable certain vanity slots from rendering as a whole, instead of by item type? That way I could switch between X and Y by swapping their places in Slot 1, or something!

I like storing my diving gear in the vanity slot for whenever I'm not using it but it still renders, same with the fishing set :P
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 14 Jul, 2022 @ 12:04am
either just Hide All Equips, or hide Chestplate, Helmet, and Leggings
Chronos 13 Jul, 2022 @ 3:02pm
Hi there! I love the mod!
Im just having trouble trying to toggle just the werewolf/merfolk changes, but cant seem to get it right. Is there a set group of options i can toggle on/off to do this?
Thanks!
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 4 Jul, 2022 @ 12:45am
you don't have a reason, your assumption was a valid one
Kanaris 3 Jul, 2022 @ 8:56pm
I understand why it would annoy you, but 22 other mods I tried ALL failed if they were not updated after a certain date. On top of that, this mod says built for 1.4 Alpha, nothing about main branch, and no notes about the two tmodloader updates that broke everything, and came after 2nd of May. So why would I have reason to think that this mod would be a special exception to the breaking changes?

Anyway, I'll take your advice on board and go through the tedium of testing it next time instead of jumping the gun  Thanks for the speedy reply, too!
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 3 Jul, 2022 @ 9:19am
please test before saying it needs an update, just generally, not just for this mod
Kanaris 3 Jul, 2022 @ 8:54am
Oh does it load properly on the July 1 tmodloader? For 1.4 Terraria? I didn't try since every other mod from before July 1 seems to fail
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 3 Jul, 2022 @ 8:08am
Is there a problem with it? It loads for me just fine
Kanaris 3 Jul, 2022 @ 7:30am
This mod is awesome! Would appreciate an update!
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 24 Oct, 2021 @ 3:00pm
Updated to v0.1.2
zumbo sauce 24 Oct, 2021 @ 2:20pm
oh you're welcome! yeah i've noticed since a recent update most of the mods may have gotten broken so this is an appreciated response
Vlidmir Putan  [author] 24 Oct, 2021 @ 2:19pm
Thanks, I'll fix it after tml updates something regarding modded accessory slots. Those will then be compatible with this mod aswell.
zumbo sauce 24 Oct, 2021 @ 1:02pm
apparently broken
Birdz 14 Sep, 2021 @ 4:45am
I don't see the point of this unless you are trying to see what armour the opponent is wearing,,, Vanity exists for a reason!
Spazz 23 Aug, 2021 @ 5:24pm
Any way you could add a way to put any accessory into the vanity slot?
Blackbluue~The Feral Fenrir 23 Aug, 2021 @ 3:57pm
I'm confused. Why put anything in the vanity slot if you don't want it to be seen? If you just want extra equipment slots to switch sets fast, just use the Equipment Loadouts mod which is specifically for that purpose and does it a lot better
